The disgust blog has an entry from several months ago on a site's exit from the sandbox via a 301 re-direct to a new subdomain at an existing TLD. Pretty stark evidence of the box's effects and a good solutiong for those in desperate need of a way out. Here's the graph showing the traffic patterns after the re-direct was spidered by GG.
