Why are my rankings not showing up in Bing?
-
I recently signed up for SEOmoz and love it so far...but....in the keyword ranking section I know we rank in the top 20 for our keywords on Bing and yet for some reason the SEOmoz tool is coming back saying we arent even in the top 50. Why is this?
-
i also have the same problem with Bing results, I am in Australia
Take this page for example
http://perthseocompany.com.au/seo/reports/violationsI rank #1, for SEO Violations yet in the campaign that page is not on the scale
This page
http://perthseocompany.com.au/seo-perth/seo-professional-perthRanks 10 for SEO Professional, canmpaign says 27
THis is probably the best example,
this page http://thatsit.com.au/ web development perth, has ranked #3 for as long as i can remember I check it all the time, yet in the campaign it is #25 -
Thanks for writing in and sorry that your rankings are looking off in the Web App. I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the Web App rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings.
Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. If you have suggestions about how we might improve the technical process of fetching rankings data to get better data, please let us know and we'll pass it on to our engineering team. We're always looking for ways to get you better data.
In the meantime, if you write into our help desk ([email protected]) I can try to see if it's a bug on our side if you can let me know...
1. The campaign that is having this issue
2. The login email address for the account that the campaign is part of
3. The keyword and URL combination that is having discrepancies
4. The ranking that you're getting in Google versus what the Web App tells you.
This way I'll be able to check it out on my side to see if it's a bug or something else.
Thanks so much!

www or non-www will most definitely affect your rankings, unless you have created your account for the root domain. If you have chosen to create your campaign using the subdomain option our software will pull rankings for that subdomain only.
Remember that www and non-www are technically considered to be two separate subdomains.

I am not sure, buit your domaion should 301 redirefcet to one of the other, and i would use that format in your campiagn also

I am in the United States. Does it have something to do with how you set up the campaign? does the www or non www affect the ranking report?

I have the same problem, what country are you in, I am in Australia.
SEOMoz nor i have an answer. they can only report what it shows for them.
also do you have search history turned on, if so turn it off.

Webmaster Tools shows mystery errors that Moz does not
One of my campaigns is doing great in the sense that the website has been running fault free for a few months now. Great, of course! But... in Google Webmaster Tools errors keep coming in showing older media documents and pages. And it does not say where they are from. Probably this is more a Google question, but I thought I'd try to find some answers here first. I would appreciate any suggestions and help. Monique

SEO Moz Rank Report
Anyone else noticing the rank reporting seems to be off? My reports are showing "not in top 50" for some keywords that my site is on page one for. Not in places listings either because I know that can throw things off! Anyone?

How to Refresh the Rankings Tool?
Is there a way to manually refresh the "Rankings" part of a campaign? I know about the Rank Tracker tool but didn't have a lot of keywords set up there. So I need to refresh the Rankings in the Campaign to know exactly which rankings have dropped in the past few hours... any way to do that?

Apparent discrepancy on overseas Google results in Rankings
Probably a very noob question this ... I'm based in the UK and have just set up a campaign which includes Google US. There seems to be a discrepancy between some of the rankings found by SEOMOZ and what I see when I simulate the actual search using Adwords > Ad Preview. For example, a particular term shows "not in the top 50" for Google US on the rankings page of my campaign in SEOMOZ. But my US colleagues say that when they run the search they see us on page 1. And when I simulate the search via Adwords Preview, I also see our site ranking well on page 1. I'd like to understand why the discrepancy 🙂 Thanks for any advice. Gord

A grade but no ranking. Can anyone help?
Hi there, I'm new to SEOmoz but familiar with SEO in general. I recently setup a new campaign for my wife's eCommerce business - www.toucankids.com. We optimized 6 pages for 6 well researched key phrases. These pages have been indexed by Google however they didn't show up in the on page reports section of SEOmoz. I've just worked out how to add them manually so i've done that. The good news is that all of the pages get an A grade so we must be doing something right. The bad news is that we haven't got a top 50 result for any of them which is quite disheartening. I'd rather not invest lots of effort more page optimisation if this approach isn't working. Can anyone offer any advice on next steps / fine-tuning? Thanks in advance! P.S. We're going through a process of link building to try and improve our domain authority at the moment so i'm hoping that Friday's linkscape update will give us some better news in that department.

How does SEOMoz get ranking data? is it automated queries to Google?
Google's terms don't allow automated queries without Google's permission. https://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66357 How does SEOMoz get ranking data then? Is it sending automated queries with or without Google's permission? is it violating Google's guideline? Will it affect my site performance as far as rankings?

Why is my site showing a redirect that doesn't exist?
I have two sites. www.plasticandfoampackaging.com www.flyfitters.com Previously I had flyfitters 301 redirecting to plasticandfoampackaging. I stopped that about a month ago. I moved the nameservers and stopped the redirect. I am a novice but it seems to be working perfectly. However, SEOMOZ is showing that the redirect still exists. Does the site need to be recrawled or do I need to update the info somewhere? Please advise. Thanks Patrick

My Campaign just picked up the .com.au site and is showing data
I've got a campaign set up here in SEOmoz and it appears that it just started picking up data for a site that is not mine. Our site is examplesite.com and i noticed that SEOmoz has begun including examplesite.com.au and is showing 20,000 302's from this site. The .com.au site is in no way related to our business and should not be tracked in our campaign. Has this happened to anyone else?
