Bing, what does it take?
-
Hi there,
I have been optimizing my website for Google over the past year or so, and now have around 50 keywords or so, moderate/highly competitive keywords on page 1, however there are a few keywords which I have been trying to optimize for which I am finding it difficult getting these keywords onto page 1.
However I just noticed through analytics that I am getting quite a bit of traffic through Bing on these keywords, so I thought I would take a look to see where I was ranking for these keywords and to my surprise top 5 for which these keywords.
So the question is, what does it take to rank high in Bing? as my results are so different when comparing my Google results to Bing.
Thanks

Hi Irving,
Thanks for you reply.
I am using data-vocabulary.org rather than schema.org
Ok, so what you mention is on page, what about off page?
Thanks

Here's my quick Bing checklist:
-
Use schema.org Microformats
-
Use great title tags
-
Make sure your site and sitemaps are error free

Hi there,
I don't think this is the case anymore, I have another website I use for testing which is an exact keyphrase, this used to rank highly in Bing, no.2 for a keyphrase which has 20,000 exact monthly searches, however ranked on page 5 now, however no.4 in Google.

Just as a quick answer I know the domain relativity counts more on bing so if you have your keywords in your url you will come up higher on bing than google.

Google Fetch and Render - Partial result (resources temporarily unavailable)
Over the past few weeks, my website pages have been showing as partial in the Google Search Console. There are many resources/ files (js, css, images) that are 'temporarily unreachable'. The website files haven't had any structural changes for about 2 years (it historically has always shows as 'completed' and rendered absolutely fine in the search console). I have checked and the robots.txt is fine as is the sitemap. My host hasn't been very helpful, but has confirmed there are no server issues. My website rankings have now dropped which I think is due to these resources issues and I need to clear this issue up asap - can any one here offer any assistance? It would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Getting indexed by Google scholar
Often my Google Scholar alerts result in exactly what I think they will: scholarly articles published in academic journals. However, today I got this completely non-scholarly article https://www.t-nation.com/training/the-exact-reps-that-make-you-grow and I have no idea why Google Scholar is indexing this site. I've read up on how to get indexed by Google Scholar, and this website doesn't seem to have the necessary requirements. I'm curious for anyone whose clients or industry need to get indexed by Google Scholar, what has worked for you?

Why rich snippets have disappeared in Google search results ?
Hello, Few weeks ago, we have implemented a snippets strategy in order to increase our ranking for our blog posts. That was successful and our results were showing up in Google. But today, every single snippet has disappeared. We go back to a simple search result, without snippets for us or for our competitors. It seems that Google has delete rich snippet for specific keywords because for the generic keywords (for exemple "inbound marketing definition" in our case), there is still a snippet result. Do you know if Google has changed snippets parameters for keywords with low search volume ? Thank you !

What are the SEO challenges associated with private search engines, like DuckDuckGo?
I read recently that DuckDuckGo doubled in size in 2017. With their search engine, and other alternatives to Google, taking part of the search market away, how can SEO/Marketing/Web pros keep their websites optimized and get traffic from these private search engines? (Also, do any of you have experience with this? What portion of your search traffic is coming from private search engines?)

Good rankings with Google but difficulties to enter on Top 50 with Bing and Yahoo?
Hi guys, I'm facing this problem with some websites that I'm trying to optimize for the search engines. I've worked on a good SEO on Page and I've had not so many difficulties to get good ranking results on Google. The problem is that I'm not having any result with Yahoo and Bing, even if I've sent the sitemap to the Bing Webmaster Toll and I'm keeping under control the possible crawling errors both on Google and Bing Webmaster Tool. Can someone please help me with an explanation?

Bing index
Hi Guys, This is an interesting one. I've recently been looking into Bing and trying to get my company's website ranking for relevant search terms. So I typed in site:www.sparkstone.co.uk and was shocked when only 13 pages were returned. So I signed up to bing webmaster tools and started submitting URLs manually as well as a sitemap. However i've just gone back to check expecting to see more pages being indexed. Sadly only the homepage has been indexed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, Dan
