Linking root domains refer to links from any page on the domain.
I, personally, would be somewhat careful about the foreign sites thing, especially those which may be in different languages. My view on it is that 1) You might begin to seem manipulative with your linking tactics to the SE's and 2) you might unintentionally start to pull off a bit of "international SEO" which could have consequences that, while not necessarily bad, wouldn't be the best for the issues you need to solve at hand.
That's my own view on the subject, though, so certainly don't take it as Gospel.

One question... For linking root domains, is that referring to links from home pages or from any page on that root domain?
So if I need trust and links and cblock links, I should find the trust seomoz sites and find ways to get inbound links....
If I were going after different c-blocks, an obvious way would be to find different foreign sites (from friendly countries) and get links from them. They are likely to be on different c blocks on a country to country basis. Beats looking it up and keeping track from whois lookups.

As Craig stated, it's a good idea to read the Beginner's Guide if you haven't already.
However, if you're just trying to make sense of the metrics you put up I'll see if I can help.
Total Links - This is the total number of links coming into a given page or domain (depending on which option you've selected to view.. page based or domain based).
Ext. Followed Links - The number of links pointing to a page which are not from your own domain (ie internal links), and do not have the rel="nofollow" attribute appended to them.
Linking Root Domains - Really it's as simple as it says. It's the number of the individual, unique root domains that are linking to a site. 2 different root domains would be something like site1awesome.com and thisisawebsite.com.
Followed Linking Root Domains - Same principle as the above "Linking Root Domains", but this one takes out all of the links from the domains which have added the rel="nofollow" attribute to those links. It only counts followed links from root domains.
Linking C-Blocks - Sort of difficult to explain. I'd recommend reading the following thread on the Search Engine Watch forums, with particular interest to the first reply. It should hopefully sum up C-Blocks for you.

Hey I recommend you read this http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo there is not much point in explaining these as you won't know what to do with them if you don't already know what they are.
Read this guide it's not that long and you will have a better understanding of what's what.

Does Google need Analytics installed to create metrics?
Hi Mozers, Does Google know time on site, number of page visits, bounce rate, etc. even if Google Analytics is NOT installed? Does it measure all that stuff anyway, and if you install the GA code on your site, that is so that YOU can see those metrics? OR can Google only see those metrics if you install GA on your site? Help! Need to Get Traffic Back Up in Saturated Market
I was looking in one of my client's Google Analytics profiles, and noticed that they had two major drops in traffic before we started working with them—and they've never really recovered. The first, and most significant drop was around January 2015. And then the again, but not as drastic of a drop, was around September 2015. They are a heating and cooling company, but they are located out west so this shouldn't be a seasonality thing. September 1, 2015 - September 30, 2015: 30,923 sessions
September 1, 2015 - September 30, 2016: 13,768 sessions Year over year traffic to the website dropped by 55%. Here is a link to what year over year looks like in Google Analytics: http://imgur.com/a/TPdJQ Like I said, we weren't working with them at the time so I don't know specifics about what might have caused this, but their numbers have never even come close to reaching what they used to be prior to the noticeable drop after September 2015. Does anyone have any insights into why this might be? Was there an algorithm change back then that could still be impacting them? Any ideas how to get them back to where they once were? Longterm wordpress blog not providing seo benefit to main site - help needed please
Hi I have a bigcommerce ecommerce store, with a Wordpress blog on a subdomain. The store and blog have been active for four years, the blog is regularly updated with original content, has many links to the store, is promoted regularly via my brand's social media channels and mailing list, and has the simplest SEO basics covered via a Yoast SEO plugin. But the store sees very little, if any, SEO benefit from the blog. My question is: based on this information, and the details below, is there an issue with the connection between the blog and main site in SEO terms? And if there is, how can I start fixing it? Further info: 1 In my Moz dashboard for the store site, the blog does not show at all as providing any inbound links or linking domains 2 Google Analytics also shows zero referral traffic to the store site from the blog since April 2015 3 Moz crawl issues is flagging ‘duplicate page content issues’ for pretty much every page of the blog, and the analysis provided suggests this may be related to tags but I have only basic SEO knowledge and am fast getting out of my depth here. 4 I have today altered the settings within the Yoast plugin on the blog to ‘noindex’ for Tags, Meta Robots, based on advice I have found in this section but am already well over my head and unsure even this is correct. An agency have been running SEO for the store since 2012 but since uncovering how little they have done in this time for the money paid, I am now taking matters back into my own hands. However I am on a very steep learning curve and this one is beyond me right now - please does anyone have any suggestions where I can start looking to uncover the root issue? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks very much and hope to hear from someone!

Google Search Console (new GWT) - Does a language specific sub folder need its own GSC profile
HI I've got a clients site set which targets 3 language/countries: English via the main site on the domain.com Turkish via a Turkish language site on a subfolder domain.com/tr/ And German via domain.de The devs have set up .com and .de in GSC and is reporting data in both However there's no data in the domain/com/tr GSC profile ! Is that because its on a subfolder so data pertaining to it is being reported in the main domain.com GSC account ? Or does something more need to be done to set up the Turkish subfolder in GSC ? I have this newsletter send using Mailchimp. This campaign is link to G.A. How can I create custom report for me online store about this campaign? If I change the URL of a page, but the old page canonicalizes to the new, do I need to change my Analytics goals to get data?
I changed the URLs of some pages recently (because the same thing that affects the internal anchor text also affects the URL - grr...) but considered it not a big deal because even if I looked at the source code of the old URL, the canonical tag was now pointing to the new one. The question is - if I had URL destination goals set up for those URLs in Google Anlaytics, do I now have to change them? Or does Google somehow know that anyone getting to the new URL is the equivalent of someone getting to the old URL because of the canonical tag that exists on the old URL source code? I still do see goal conversions for some of the old URLs even since I changed them - but it could be that people are still somehow finding the old URL somewhere - or that Google only reindexed it a week or so after I made the change.
