302 Redirects for Wordpress Blog Trackbacks
-
I'm a newbie, and just got my first crawl diagnostics report. I was looking at the temporary redirects, and virtually all of them are trackback URLs from our blog (we use ourdomain.com/blog and Wordpress). The diagnostics report says they're 302 redirects. Is this problematic and, if so, can you suggest the best way to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I hate to bring up an old thread, but here's the answer if you're still looking for it:

Hi Mario,
Did anyone ever answer you on this, or did you figure it out? I'm having the same issue?

How do you change them to 301. I never set up temporary

Link juice does not flow though a 302 redirect (temp), you need to use a 301 redirect.(permanent)
Having said that, bing will treat a 302 like a 301 if left in place long enouth.

Redirection Impact on SEO
Need help urgently. There is the situation [This is how is it working now]: 1. Have a global landing page [say when user types in www.mysite.com - takes user to the global landing page: [www.mysite.com/global/en.html]](http://www.mysite.com/global/en.html] ) 2. Users from this landing page can select a country on his/her choice and get redirected say: [www.mysite.com/us/en.html] Would like to change the functionality as below: 1. When user types in www.mysite.com 1a. Would find the location of the request based on GEO IP and if the request is coming from North America region then would redirect the users to: www.mysite.com/us/en.html 1b. If the request is from any other location/region then it would continue to work as it is currently working: take the user to the global landing page: www.mysite.com/global/en.html Would this change have any negative impact or not found by search engines from SEO perspective? If it does then what are the impacts and if does not then why not. If it does then what is the best possible way to address this request. Appriciate your help. Thanks, Koushik Roy

301 Redirect
Need a little bit of help on this one. I have a product page which actually has 3 products on the page in question: www.example.com/products I thought it would be best for each product to have a page on its own: www.example.com/product-1 www.example.com/product-2 www.example.com/product-3 however my question is: The page with the 3 products www.example.com/products where should the 301 go to? Can you do a 301 to all the new product pages? Hope that makes sense Kind Regards,

Blog in subfolder or folder
SEO best practices says that one should put blog in a subfolder. Like www.example,com/blog In the above case, should we say that the blog is in folder or subfolder. Actually, i have been unsure about this folder vs subfolder thing. Some examples of this would be appreciated. What is the example of a blog in a subdomain ? Thanks
