Apparent discrepancy on overseas Google results in Rankings
-
Probably a very noob question this ...
I'm based in the UK and have just set up a campaign which includes Google US. There seems to be a discrepancy between some of the rankings found by SEOMOZ and what I see when I simulate the actual search using Adwords > Ad Preview.
For example, a particular term shows "not in the top 50" for Google US on the rankings page of my campaign in SEOMOZ. But my US colleagues say that when they run the search they see us on page 1. And when I simulate the search via Adwords Preview, I also see our site ranking well on page 1.
I'd like to understand why the discrepancy
Thanks for any advice.

As far as I'm aware, changes in algorithms are put live in the US before the UK. This might mean that theres been some slight changes or maybe the website has been re-indexed recently. Ask your US colleagues when the site was last cached and check that against yours.
I am aware that Google puts changes live in the US before anywhere else though. Kind of nice for us in the UK, we can see the storm coming from overseas

Ranking keyword ecommerce product
Hi guys, I run an ecommerce store footdistrict.com. We sell sneakers. My question relates to the name of some of my products and how to rank for them. This concerns to the shoes from New Balance The name of this products follows this format: New Balance XXNumberXXX . But actually I have realized I am ranking for New Balance XXNumber XXX . Note the space between the number and the last 3 characters. All my titles, h1, keywords follow this format. Example: New Balance WL574 RUP vs New Balance WL574RUP My questions are: 1. How would you determine which keyword to rank for: New Balance XXNumberXXX or New Balance XXNumber XXX? I have thought of using analytics data to see the pattern of the users search or maybe the difficulty of the keyword? I am receiving a decent amount of traffic for New Balance XXNumber XXX but I wonder if it'd be higher ranking for New Balance XXNumberXXX 2. Does the algorithmn take into account this space? According to the On page Grader, I have an A for New Balance XXNumber XXX and a F for New Balance XXNumber XXX but I assume the engine doesn't work this way 3. What would you do? Thanks very much Kind regards

Why is the weekly rankings report often inaccurate?
Does anybody else notice that the Moz weekly rankings report are often inaccurate? Many times it says a keyword (or many keywords) fell out of the top 50, although when I manually check the keyword in a Google search, it still shows that those keywords are ranking in the top 10. I've done these manual searches with personalized search settings turned off, as well as from a completely unbiased computer. Why is this happening? Does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you!

Local search results reporting
Is there a way I can report on local search results for our keywords by city?

For example could I specify Phoenix or Chicago and then see how we rank as if we did the search in that city?0 -
Cities in Keywords Ranking Reports
So I've been in the habit of creating a master list of keywords concatenated with the city name so I can track my local rankings versus competitors. 1. Is this the correct thing to do to help hone in on who competitive my sites are ranking in the local market? 2. If so, by doing this the On Page reports seem to be totally screwed, because the searches I'm tracking (with city) vs the keywords I want to analyse for on-page ranking (without city), are different. What is the solution?

Rank Tracker Logging Me #Out
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me with something? Whenever I try and use the rank tracker SEOmoz logs me out and won't let me log back in until I go to a different page. Is this because I am on a free trial (which I don't understand as I am able to use the other tools)

Woo rank features
Is there a way to find the same type of information that woo rank provides via the pro toolset? I am just learning SEO and exploring the PRO tool set and just received a woo rank report for a clients site and right off the bat I see that it is missing the robots.txt file, but I haven't found anything like that on SEO moz. Thanks!

Rankings Report Visits Number timing?
I linked up the reports to my analytics account, and wanted to double check the period it uses for that number. When showing visits what time period is the report showing me? If I double check my stats in GA it looks like the past week but wanted to double check. Thanks!
