What are your biggest focuses for Internet Marketing in 2012? New Year's Goal?
-
We have seen a lot of shifting and movement in the search engines as of late. So I am curious as to what people are setting their sights on for 2012. And perhaps a top 3 would be appreciated. This is Internet Marketing goals, therefore SEO, Social Media, PPC, all count.
Link Building? Schema.org? Facebook optimization?
And try to be a little more specific like URL rewrites instead of just On-Site SEO.

I use GA extra than ever now. To tell you the truth, I felt that I recognize loads approximately internet advertising and marketing. Tips n Tricks no longer helped as you see here on the handheld steam cleaner. The strategy became manner greater vital. So I needed to come "full circle" in my net advertising efforts.

Video marketing is really helpful in business. You can try any of the video editing tools to get help and market your product.

Great question, I'll chime in!
-Traffic segmentation and journey analysis/optimisation
-Social sharing optimisation...aka increase my clients penetration into their key social media spaces
-Good 'ol Conversion Rate Optimisation (everything from cats to dogs)
-Oh and that content creation shizzle

I'd love to see it. Sounds like they built a good system for not only explaining but testing you to make sure you understood it. Good stuff.

I use GA more than ever now. To tell you the truth, I felt that I know a lot about internet marketing. Tips n Tricks no longer helped. Strategy was way more important. So I needed to come "full circle" in my internet marketing efforts. So now I can see most of my work's performance, whether good or poor, through advanced web analytics. The last thing left before I get my Market Motive Certification is passing the interview. I have to defend my Web Analytics Measurement Model in front of a panel (Avinash and John).
I had to make a custom dashboard for my website. I can email it to you so you can see my end result.

Good list. And yes, Schema.org is on my list as well, a little further down.
How was the Analytics Ninja Course?
-
Hey Thomas! How you been? Here are my 3:
- Highly relevant content creation.
- Continue growing my Advanced Web Analytics strategy I learned from Avinash. Oh I forgot to tell you, I took his Analytics Ninja course.
- International SEO to reduce PPC costs.
If I could write a 4th, it would be schema.org.

Content & Site Appeal

This was on my Christmas list, but it didn't seem to happen:
- Work on Conversion Rates
- Write bigger and better content
- Finish redesign
- Convince EGOL to link to me...
-
Looks like you are starting early in your community participation.
-
Nice dialog there. Videos are on my short list as well.
-
Here is my 2012 short list:
- Videos - Creation of videos. And optimization for youtube.
- Videos - Dynamic insertion of videos on site and conversion tracking with/per video
- Completion of a niche network and adding 1000 members.
Looking forward to another great year.
-
We have a list we've been working on but here are our top 3:
-
Participate more in this community
-
streamline our processes for scaling link building prospects and outreach with citationlabs tools
-
Schema implementation for local SEO clients
-
-
Articles to inspire the purchase of retail products.
Video to show how retail products are used (and to post on article pages)
Keyword Cannibalization in a small niche (Longshanks: "Archers!".... Commander: "Beg pardon Sire, but... won't we hit our own troops?"... Longshanks: "Yes. But we'll hit their's as well". ---- Replace "Longshanks" with "Longtail")

Before I request hundreds of links for "nofollow" I want to verify I'm doing the right thing
Happy Thanksgiving Mozers, In my efforts to get rid of a Google penalty, I've come to the conclusion that all the travel agents who link to our site with a unique code, are technically affiliates because they get commission. Therefore we need to get all of them to switch their links to "rel=nofollow". I'm worried this shift will cost us in search rankings, especially since none of our competitors require nofollow tags. So before I actually begin requiring the switch, I wanted to just double check that I'm not misinterpreting Google. Our travel agents are paid commission on every sale (whether their customers click the link from their website to ours, or calls in and gives us that agent's code. So even though our travel agents aren't technically part of an "affiliate program" run through CJ or anything, they are in Google's eyes affiliates of my company. Therefore their links with their personal codes all need to be nofollow. Am I correct on this? I can't find anywhere where Google goes into great depth explaining various types of affiliates.

Affiliate marketing dead?
I have created a network of travel websites that I have decided to promote little by little.. Also so they getdomain age and google trust.... but now when you search for all my main keyphrases... you either have wikitravel, lonelyplanet, frommers and other big brand. I guess that Google gave them better value as to get trusted travel information... However, it seems it will be very difficult to rank my sites. I could do long tail keyphrases but again might not be worth it... I used to work as a SEO consultant for other travel sites selling products... they still rank pretty well as they are sites of value selling something.. of course threy compete with other sites but we are in the same level. How can you compete with loneyplanet with your affiliate site because I am not selling anything on my sites. I am pretty much desperate. I designed a network of 30 sites... all good content with good SEO on the page... of course, I will be honest. I might have to change the content to make it better... you can check one of my site here; www.simplyparis.org it is worth it or better stop this project and focus on 1 product oriented website ? Is anyone working as an affiliate marketer with experience after google panda and pinguin ? is affiliate marketing dead in 2013 now?

What is an 'Anchor Text' and does it have any SEO Benefit?
Hi - we have been building as SEO strategy but need clarification on what benefit 'anchor text' has for SEO rankings? For example - we have been creating links from external sites to ours, but the anchor text is not our main search term. I.E - the Anchor Text reads 'web design', but the ALT TAG reads 'web design birmingham'. Question is - if we wish to achieve maximum SEO rankings for the term 'web design birmingham', where should it appear....in the ALT TAG or the Annchor text'? Many thanks! Phil

Anyone Have Any Experience With Catch Marketing?
I was recently approached by Catch Marketing about a service they provide that uses a product data feed to create hundreds of pages with "unique" (algorithm generated) content on a subdomain of a website targeting long-tail keywords not already driving traffic to the site. It's an affiliate type setup with a commission-based fee structure. Admittedly not the most elegant solution to driving long-tail keyword traffic but my company is short on resources and long on revenue goals. I'm not really interested in hearing about creating awesome unique content written by a human as the better solution here; although I understand and aspire to those ideals the reality is that I have 60,000 products to market and I'm the only one who writes product content - after I tend to my other responsibilities. Has anyone used or heard of this service? Your feedback appreciated.

Two Tier Internet, Bad Blogs and One page Affiliate Sites
Hi, I start a post on a popular internet marketing forum about how bad blogs - (i.e. the ones with one posts of over optimise spun garbage) - and the one page affiliate sites - trying to sell you something... (you know the ones) - were REALLY starting to annoy me and if/when something would be done by ISP's or Anyone really. Obviously google is aware of the issue with trying to push Google Plus to crowd source better search results. But with more and more sites popping up telling people how they can make money from having a niche website/page with adwords on it aren't we fast moving to a two tier internet.... How websites/pages exist purely to game search engines.... and will they ever disappear.... Sorry mini rant..... might even get some ideas for a blog post 😛 (not on a bad blog before anyone says anything)

So I am wondering what the optimal solution is with regard to how an affilaite URL is tagged. After looking into it a bit more - I have come up with the following. 1/. Use an affilaite URL idendifier with a #

EG like www.mysite.com#123 2/. 301 redirect the affilaite URL to the "real URL"
EG www.mysite.com#123 301 -> www.mysite.com What do you think of this? Thanks0 -
In search of the perfect SEO affiliate ID'd URL
Hi, I'm building our own affilaite system. I want to make sure I get as much SEO benifit from affiliate links as possible so I am in search of the perfect solution. My thoughts after doing a bit of research are to do the following - using the # as my identifier: 1/. Use an ID like www.mysite.com/#A123 2/. Redirect via 301 these urls to www.mysite.com Any thoughts on this, or other things I should be thinking of with regard so building an affilaite system that has strong SEO benifits? Thanks
