Date specific keywords, what to do for following year?!?
-
Hi,
Lets say I have a page with the keyword 'film releases 2012', I rank the term and it picks up some back links and social signals.
The year ends and search begins for 'film releases 2013'.
Do I:
1. Create a new page targeting 'film releases 2013' and redirect the old page to the new one.
2. Just have one page with the url .co.uk/film-releases/ and when the year ends for 2012 just change the 2012 to 2013 (title, h1 tags etc).
I'm 99% sure number 2 is the best option but the only negative is the url does not contain the year.
I could just have the 1 page with the date in the url and when it enters the new year change the url to contain the new date but that would break any backlinks, so I could redirect anyone trying to get to the old url to the new one which should pass the PR across.
But im guessing I would lose some PR in the process so maybe not having the date in the url would not effect SEO to much so rolling with number 2 is best bet.
Cheers

First off, make sure to keep the 2012 url. It has generated links that will benefit your site as a whole.
Secondly, I would create the 2013 page as soon as possible, and post the movies that are supposed to come out in 2013. Make sure to update every so often to keep it up to date. This will allow you to start generating links to the new url. This will then improve your site as a whole, and give you a step up for ranking high with the new page. If you find a movie estimated for a 2014 arrival, slap up another page.

Keyword Domain URL structure
Hello all, We have a domain with one of the primary keyword within the domain itself (audisite) and reading through some of the topics, having a keyword within the domain itself seems to be not as significant as we had assumed. We currently have a URL strucuture ( http://audisite.co.uk/new-audi/a4 ) which we were thinking of modifying to something like audisite.co.uk/a4 based on the premise that the 'audi' keyword is already in the domain itself. Also in terms of URL optimization, which of these will be the most effective URL (if the content is exactly the same). Or is my whole approach incorrect to URL optimization fundamentally incorrect? /a4 /new-audi-a4 /new/audi-a4 /new-audi/a4 /new/audi/a4 I will be very grateful for any advice/suggestions/pointers. Thank you very much for your time.

Do follow blog roll links
Hi I found out that someone is linking to my site from their blog roll (which is a related theme), which I am flattered. She is linking to lots of others including quality blogs. I ran a back link report and I'm on 250 of her pages with a dofollow link. The anchor text is not a "money" keyword. In fact it's got nothing to do with what I do! The domain is DA38. Now, here's the questions going through my mind! Do I ask her to make them no follow? Do I ask her to remove them? Do I ask her to brand them all instead of irrelevant anchor text? Do I just disavow them? They are like having sitewide links on a site Any thoughts? SMP

I am getting links on people's wordpress blogs but are not showing up on the just discovered tool. Is it true that wordpress links are no-follow links that do give off any link-juice?
A blogger told me that "wordpress.com does not allow blogs to show advertisements or use links to sites that sell merchandise of any kind" is this true? Am i wasting my outreach time trying to get links from wordpress operated blogs?

A rather simple question, If i have a paragraph and have the words cat, dog and bird would it be a good idea to have them all linking to the same url? or is better to have them all going to different urls?

Do no follow links have any seo value at all?
I saw some test results of no follow links from some years back and it seemed to indicate that Google still counts the anchor text in no follow links provided the page is already indexed and has do follow links pointing to it. The test results seemed to indicate that Google does count the links and uses the anchor text to cause the page to rank higher in the serps for those key words. any truth to this? If i don't expect any traffic whatsoever from a no follow link should i not build it? Take care, Ron
