How can I go from PR3 to PR4 ?
-
Hi guys !
I'm a one guy army here trying to get my website rank from PR3 to PR4. I have really great content (the website is an industry standard) that's about 80 pages.
I currently rank PR3 (find my stats down there). Anyone have an idea on an action plan to get to the next level ?
I don't have a budget, I just have manpower (more or less 1h seo everyday + one day a week to write content).
Thanks !

Do you mind giving us a link to your site?
Unfortunately there is no clear formula about how to improve page rank.
X Articles X Pages = ?
But as Jonathan suggested, if you can increase the number of links from high quality sites, it should have a positive effect for you as long as the on-age optimization of your site is pretty good.

Hi,
More inbound links from great domains will give a better PR. With a great content and good ideas (infographics...), the links will come.
Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.
Jonathan

Most valuable things that clients can do for us SEO-wise?
Hi One and All! We're launching a new site which provides listings for businesses, and being that it's very early in the process and we're building up our presence we're offering our services for free for now. In return though we would like to request that our clients exchange the free service we're providing for things which will help our SEO to develop faster. I've thought of things like following/liking social accounts, maybe even backlinking to us in a blog post if they have a blog, but does anyone have any other ideas about what other beneficial things they can do for us, and which things are most beneficial? Thanks for Advice!

How can I find the most liked, tweeted, and +1'd URLs on a domain?
As part of a content audit, I'd like to identify the most popular content on a domain. I've tried Google Spreadsheets + API's from the services, but the call limits have stopped me as I can only check 50 URLs at a time. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I can get the list of all pages on the site with Screaming Frog, but then how do I find metrics on those URLs? Any tips or tools would be appreciated!

Instagram - Any ideas how this can be used for SEO?
If indeed Google does use social signals for ranking factors, how would you go about using Instagram for SEO (if it's even possible)? Thanks

Facebook likes - how can I tell how many likes a product page has?
Without actually going to each product page and looking at the number next to the 'Like' button, is there any way of finding a list of all your pages and the number of Facebook likes on each?

Newspaper SEO: How to go about link building for news websites
Newspaper SEO is tricky business, primarily because of the way you deal with Keywords. So far, I have been unable to find a comprehensive guide to newspaper SEO via SEOmoz, although I'm a big fan and this website has actually made my career! So, my question is, how do you go about building links for newspaper websites, what keywords should you use and what link building strategies would work?

SEO w/o Social Webinair experiment - how can RTs of a URL of a google search possibly affect the position of one of the search results?
I missed the webinair but have just been going through the slides. Looking forward to watching the video when its up. I have a question however regarding the experiment conducted by Rand to find out: Is Social Influencing Primary Algorithms (slides 7 - 20) The suggestion is that an RT of a google search URL affects the ranking of one individual ranking site. The +1 side of the experiment I understand completely - it is clear how Google can see that there is a social preference for the site and reward accordingly. But how would retweeting the search result URL possibly affect its rankings? Is the suggestion that those doing the experiment also clicked on the relevant link? And if so, how is Google discerning that this additional traffic is down to Twitter? I feel I am missing something incredibly obvious. Anyone want to help me out here?... otherwise I'm not going to sleep tonight...
