I disappeared from Google, but not Bing?
-
A few weeks ago the company I work for created a website called Nabceptraining.com in hopes to find clientele who are looking to become NABCEP Certified. So we installed WordPress and a nice looking theme that we edited, and we saw that without any real content on the page we were already rank 12 on Google! We never even submitted our site. So we decided to Search Engine Optimize our website to gain even better rankings. So on the first day we added an SEO Tool that would allow us to change the page titles and descriptions on our site, a Sitemap generation tool so we could submit the site to Google, Bing, and Yahoo. At the end of the day we submitted the site and was beginning to create our content. That next morning our ranking was gone and we were not to be found on Google, but we were rank 3 on Bing!? What happened? Why did we disappear? We didn't receive any messages from Google on the webmaster tools saying we were blacklisted. Does anyone have an idea?

I wouldn't sweat the drop in the rankings with Google. It's a new site. There's usually a little movement that can happen, especially with exact match domains. Just work to build the site up through quality content and maybe trying to get some links from relevant industry related sites (i.e. sites that list places that offer NABCEP training, industry blogs or online magazines, etc). I don't recommend much intentional link building any more, but there are usually some industry sites which make sense to try to get linked from.
Do the above and do a great job with the training you offer and your site will get the rankings.
Also, don't become a slave to the keyword density percentage. Write for your audience.

Actually some of the content isn't too bad. Yes my example came from the nabcep-entry-level-training/ page. The key is writing for your audience. It seems a paradox but forget the keyword when writing your content, write around and expand on that keyword, or get a specialist copywriter to do the content for you. Get the keyword in there 3-4 times and the rest of content if well written will semantically back-up the keyword.
9% is high, but don't sweat on precise percentages, rather a well written page with mention of the keyword.
If you are using Wordpress install and use Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin as one of the pass or fail criteria is keyword density.

Awesome, thank you for your help guys. @Thomas thank you for those tools im sure at some point I will use them.
@Micheal thank you for pointing out that our content is keyword stuffed, when you are writing it you don't really realize it. Iv run a keyword density check on our entry level page and we have a 9.X% keyword density with the phrase "entry level" What percentage would you consider as a good target? From what I see online on other forums they recommend 2-5%

I would 1st use a tool that will pull your robots.txt file and check it for anything blocking your site.
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/seo-tools/robots-txt-generator/
If that is not helping I would run this tool below. It will tell you if anything is being blocked.
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/seo-tools/google-sitemap-generator/
If for whatever reason you are still stumped make sure your meta-tags are correctly set up.

You can also use Moz fantastic campaign tool to check your site as well as a free trial using this tool to do a audit http://spydermate.com/
sincerely,

You are there but further down in the results. I would be astounded if you started a site and consistently ranked at the top from go. You might get some rogue results and then settle down.
What you do need to do is to develop your link profile which will take time but help your rankings. The domain could be considered an exact match domain (EMD) http://moz.com/pages/search_results?q=EMD without some solid content on there, and that content should not be spammy and chock full of keyword stuffing which yours seems to be. Have natural content that adds value for the user rather than words wrapped around your keywords.
Google is looking for quality and value for your visitors and links coming back to your site from trustworthy and authoritative sources.
Note: keyword spammy on page I looked at

Recovering from a Google penalty
Hi there, So about 3.5 weeks ago I noticed my website (www.authenticstyle.co.uk) had gone from ranking in second place for our main key phrase "web design dorset" to totally dropping off the SERP's for that particular search phrase - it's literally no where to be seen. It seems that other pages of my website still rank, but the homepage. I then noticed that I had an unread alert in my Google Search Console account to say that a staging site we were hosting on a subdomain (the subdomain was domvs.authenticstyle.co.uk) had hacked content - it was a couple of PDF files with weird file names. The strange thing is we'd taken this staging site down a few weeks earlier, BUT one of my staff had left an A record set up in our Cloudflare account pointing to that staging server - they'd forgotten to remove it when removing the staging site. I then removed the A record, myself and submitted a reconsideration request on Google Search Console (which I still haven't received confirmation of) in the hope of everything sorting itself out. Since then I've also grabbed a Moz Pro account to try and dig a little deeper, but without any success. We have a few warnings for old 404's, some missing meta descs on some pages, and some backlinks that have accumulated over time that have hghish spam rating, but nothing major - nothing that would warrant a penalty as far as I can tell. From what I can make out, we've been issued a penalty on our homepage only, but I don't understand why we would get penalised for hacked content if that site domvs.authenticstyle.co.uk no longer existed (would it just be due to that erroneous A record we forgot to remove?). I contacted a few freelance SEO experts and one came back to me saying I'd done everything correctly and that I should see our site appearing again in a few days after submitting the reconsideration request. Its been 3 weeks and nothing. I'm at a huge loss as to how my site can recover from this. What would you recommend? I even tried getting our homepage to rank for a variation of "web design dorset", but it seems our homepage has been penalised for anything with "dorset" in the keyphrase. Any pointers would be HUGELY appreciated. Thanks in advance! Will

URL gets cut off in Google
Hi everybody, I got a question concerning my website URLs. It's a large WordPress website and we've got a lot of categorised pages ('parent' / 'child'). Now when I search for a specific page I only get to see the 'parent' name in the URL. The page which I am looking for isn't visible. Only a small arrow which shows me 2 options (in cache and compare). The URLs are not too long. Does anybody know why this happens, and how I can solve it? I added a image for reference. (Where /partners/ is the parent page and /partners/aruba/ isn't visible) Thank you very much. LSsT1Ua

Why are Google search results different if you are log'd into Google or not?
I get different results when I'm log'd into my Google account associated with my website than if I'm not. The same country is occurring. So how can I rely on the google results I'm seeing? For instance my site is page 1 with the improvements I made based on SEOMOZ if I'm log'd in. Yet I'm not on the first 25 pages if I'm not logged in.

Having to type Google CAPTCHA all the time
Hi guys, Our office has about 15 computers all on the same IP address and about 10 actively search on Google. Recently we have been asked to type in CAPTCHA almost every single time searching on Google and would like to know if you have any suggestions of resolving this. We do use Firefox Rank Checker to check ranking once per week (around 400 keywords) but we use Hide My Ass to hide the IP. No malware or virus detected on computers in the network. Many thanks for your help in advance David

Is this against google rules
Hi i am wanting to know if this is against google rules. I am building a website which will have lots of different sections and i wanted to know if you were allowed to have a new domain name pointing to a section of the site. so for example if i had a site with a domain name of manchester and then i wanted a section of the site to be called www.manchester.com/complimentary health I want to know if to help with traffic to the site and to have a better domain name, if it was allowed to have a new domain name pointing to that section of the site which could be called www.complimentaryhealth.com and have that pointing to the section. would love to hear your thoughts on this
