H1 Mystery with Mozpro and Mozbar
-
Moz's crawler has notified me that the H1s for all the blog posts are missing but Mozbar says the page title is designated as the H1 for each post. In Wordpress, the code to the page title is not accessible in "text." I viewed page source and took a look through the code to find the H1 connected to the page title, but couldn't locate it. Usually, Wordpress themes automatically give the page title an H1 tag. Interested to hear any further insights on this topic...

Hi Harjodh
When something is found by site crawler it just means that the page is accessible, it does not mean that it is indexed in Google. There may be many reasons why a page is on the site but not indexed, Including
Duplicate content problem
Noindex tag or directive in robots.txt
Canonical to another page.
Skinny or low quality contentThe code to a page title will be viewable if you right click, 'view source' - the page title will only be viewable in WP if you have Yoast or similar installed and is not in the text view of Wordpress.
So:
1. Check source code and search the page for the title tag - this will be the name of the article.
2. Install Yoast to add an alternate title and description if you need to. (definitely install Yoast!)
3. If the H1 is not visible on the page (and I would be surprised because most themes, as you say, make the post title the H1) then you will need to add it or update the theme so that the theme does it.Screaming Frog is an excellent tool for scanning a site and has no limitations on daily use. It will help you see everything!
I hope this helps,
Regards
Nigel

How crucial are H1 tags and descriptions in wordpress categories?
Hi all Trying to improve SEO for my (mostly) local site, www.nectarbridge.com, and recently got back on Moz Pro account. First crawl of my site by Moz, a manageable number of issues that I've mostly sorted, but the category with the largest number of problems is missing or invalid tags. My content pages and blog posts are not missing the tags. It's category, archives, etc., including multiple pages, ex: https://www.nectarbridge.com/category/blog/page/4/ A smaller number of pages are being flagged by Moz as missing descriptions, and they are also category pages and the like. So the question is - how hard should I pursue fixing these issues? I'm using the divi theme, which apparently doesn't display the category description by default (if it did, that would kill two birds with one stone). There is a fix to add the category description, but before I get into that I'm trying to discern whether this issue really matters greatly to SEO or if I should spend that time just working on more content.

H1 does not display as it should supposed to
I start using MozBar and I've seen to every post on my blog that my H1 tag has ”1 2 3” written in front of the text. Why is that and what can I do to make it disappear? M1DB92B.jpg?1

H1 tag Audit & Image Alt Tag Audit Tools
Hi Mozzers, Anyone know of a good FREE tool that has no limits to use to scrape my site for H1 tags & image alt tags by page? Ideally it would produce a report with a list of page URLs, corresponding H1 tags and each image alt tag on each page. Anyone? Bueller?

MozBar in Chrome hides the top of the web page
I prefer the MozBar at the top of the browser. When using the Firefox browser the MozBar does not hide any of the web page. When using the Chrome browser the MozBar (depending on the site) often hides the top portion of the web page. Is there a way I can use the MozBar at the top of Chrome and get the same functionality as Firefox? Best,

MozBar Chrome - Can I turn it back on?
I'm using Chrome 27.0.1453.110. I installed the Moz toolbar and lost the send button in gmail. Didn't matter how I sized the window it was out of view. So I closed the Moz toolbar while I did my mail. But now I don't know how to bring it back up. Does anyone know how to turn it on again? It is still installed.

Mozbar Chrome Extension
Hello Mozzers! The Moz extension for Google Chrome is a big help while doing link prospecting, competitor research, etc. The two parts that really help me with that is the MozBar button for quick stats and how SERPs have domain data, etc, etc, under each result. The issue, however, is that the SERP control panel is dead smack in my way... Its one of those things thats been bothering me for months but dealt with. Is there a way to permanently keep it closed? Here is an image for reference - http://i.imgur.com/9ruJHHc.png -> "SERP control panel" is whats bothersome. Thanks, James

Using the PA metric from the mozbar
Hey guys, just a quick question about page authority. Often I'll be on a page with a high domain authority but the page authority is 0 as it says there are 0 links from 0 domains to the page. This is despite the fact there is a followed link from the homepage to that page. Is this just a bug in PA, and can I assume that the page will have at least some authoirty as a link from the homepage is pointed to it? Or is there some other factor that may be preventing the page to not have any PA. Thanks
