Have you seen a correlation in between running a PPC campaing and increased SEO ranking for a new site (< 3 months old)?
-
I have read many conflicting articles on this topic. I understand that running a PPC campaign at a launch phase of a site can get a lot of insights such as exact traffic patterns etc. But the question is: is there a correlation or not with increased rankings position for new site as search engine are forced to crawled that given landing page to give your ad a score? Thanks in advance for your answers and opinion
-
In theory that's possible, but it's a bit of a stretch to call it a "correlation".
It's like spending $100,000 advertising on the side of every bus in your city. Chances are you'll get coverage and some of that coverage will be a link, but it's not to say that there's any causal relationship between advertising on buses and improving the rank of your website.

Thanks for your reply, but one could assume that if your CPC ads are getting 20% CTR and therefore get expose to a lot more people then you acquire links a lot faster and get higher page rank faster as well. Makes sense?

Official Google response is NO. PageRank has nothing to do with traffic it's all about links.

Setting a total monthly spend limit for the Adwords account
Hi, I manage a number of campaigns and even though I keep an eye on daily budget based on our monthly budget, I freak out thinking we would waste a lot more money accidentally. Is there a way how I can set a cap for the whole Adwords account so I will not go over, even if I leave daily campaign budgets on crazy amounts? Thanks. Regards, Katarina

Site penalized by google
I noticed for a while that our competitors don't rank for any keywords organically and they are using paid ads to gain traffic. They have been in the industry for over 6 years and we are only new and have ranked above them already. How can we find out if a competitor has been penalized? Thanks

Can you market to someone 30 days AFTER they visit your site via PPC?
Hi all, I'm looking to market to visitors 30 days AFTER they have been to a website. Their is a coupon this business wants to run every 30 days to its' repeat customers (and if they purchase again); thus, 30 days more will resume. I'm aware that your remarketing list can capture audiences from 30, 60, and 90 days past. I'm talking about future display ads running 30 days after visitor has cookies enabled. Thanks for your help! How to find a good PPC firm
Hi guys, I'm completely new to PPC. I want to hire a firm to help drive PPC traffic to credit card landing pages. Our starting budget is limited ($2,000/month for everything) but can grow to about $5,000 if we see results. My questions are: Where can I find a list of good PPC firms that fits my vertical (credit cards) and budget? What are the key questions I should ask a PPC firm before I hire them? Is there a "Beginner's Guide to PPC" type of whitepaper, ebook, article, or course I can take to educate myself? Thanks in advance!

What is the SEO value of Thomasnet
Ok, the company I work for has had a paid listing on Thomasnet.com. This was started long before I took over the marketing. We get no real value from Thomasnet, just a lot of solicitation for unrelated things. And my company has been paying $15,000 a year for this listing. Thomasnet is a huge waste of money and I want to cancel it. The problem is that I do not have a good understanding of the link value from Thomasnet. They have a high domain authority and we have a good number of links from them because we pay for the listing. If we stop paying, those links go away and I am afraid it will hurt us in our rankings. Any insights? Thanks!

We believe we are on the right track, but would like to hear from others who have multiple products/services to sell primarily in about 10 major city areas. What has worked for you? Thanks.

Why don't national brands have PPC ads that target their names, while smaller brands do?
Google's policy is to allow other businesses to run PPC ads against your business name, even when trademarked, so long as the ads don't include the trademarked name. At least that's what I have experienced and read online. Source: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=55e2b4bf90ae9585&hl=en Why do so many national brands have no PPC ads showing on their names in Google searches? http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=best+buy http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=victorias+secret http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=office+depot And so on. Smaller brands, even when trademarked, are awash in competitors targeting their names: http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=nally+used+cars http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=la+jolla+cosmetic+surgery+centre Consider these two hotels: http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=ritz+carlton+new+york http://www.google.com/search?gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=hotel+3030+new+york There are two slightly different questions in play here, as I have clients I'd like to better protect against this type of PPC poaching: So, are there any different policies at Google Adwords RE: national brands and having competitor's ads show on their names? How do the major brands block the advertisers on their names? Thanks!

PPC Management Software Recommendations?
What is your favorite PPC Mgmt software? I was looking over my options and wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations? I've always done this manually but would like to find software that can allow my bids to put me (for example) in the third place position on Microsoft adCenter. Thanks,
