I'd like to add PPC as a service for my company. However I'm at a loss as to how to charge for it.
I've received cold calls from those "SEO guys" charging $200 for PPC services. But I doubt that they're very profitable or even ethical.
For you PPC guys, are you billing hourly on top of the campaign, and how are you outlining this for your customers?

One model I have seen used is to set a minimum for your services, and then use a goal based fee, or % fee based on spend on top of that floor.
Regardless of their spend though you need that minimum cost built in to get you enough time to cover your bases (reporting, meetings with clients, and initial setup costs spread out over duration of contract).
This can be troublesome as you may get someone spending $1000 per month and your minimum is $500 so they are paying you $500 at least to manage $1000. That is usually ok though as you don't want so many small accounts that your focus is too split.
This model helps you be flexible with larger accounts, and allows you to work with them based on the size of the campaigns, the management time you think it will take, and how detailed they want their reporting to be. It also helps qualify out smaller jobs that will probably just distract you.
We were going for fewer, but bigger clients though. The $200/month guys are going for volume. Both can be valid business models, it just depends on how you setup your management time, reporting, and costs for customizing your standard plans.

Personally I think the service fee as a percentage (in the UK the average is 10%) is the best way to go because it usually accounts for the extra work a larger account (in terms of budget) requires.

You should get in touch with a company called Jet Interactive. They are a telco that have come up with a dynamic script that tracks phone calls from various channels such as SEM, SEO, Facebook etc.
They tie this into analytics to give you actual cost per lead/acquisition data.

Bonuses are a really great idea and one I'm looking into with a particular client outside the industry of my normal clients (commissions actually).
Tracking becomes the issue. And since most of my clients are wedding photographers they don't always have a method of purchasing online. Do you have some recommendations for tracking services rather than products? It's easy to track the Click Through and if they filled out a form, but I will never know for sure if a client booked a wedding after contact.Thoughts?

When i was at Fairfax (SBU named Advantate) we use to have a two tiered pricing strategy $200/month for basic set it up and barely touch it or $495 for more advanced package including analytics and feedback. The problem with this moidel is that it doesn't allow you the flexibility to offer holistic solutions.
Having been int he industry for many years since those initial SEM days, I now strongly believe in creating contracts that share the risk with the client. Come up with goals that are easily trackable and 100% reliable. Share the risk by offering a low monthly fee, but a bonus they need to pay if you hit these goals and even a higher reward if you smash them.
There are always chumps that will accept a few hundred dollars to set and forget, but is that really the business you want to run? There are enough snake oil salesmen out there, don't be another one.

Hi, Depends if you work with larger business they usually charge a service fee, similar to advertising agencys where you take a percentage of the overall spend.
For example if they spend 1 million a month you take a 7% service fee.
For smaller business they probably work on a similar method, case by case basis, all clients vary.
Some people may charge as high as 15% on a service fee.
Some people add on extra amounts per month.

Its locksmith campaign in the US, so you can imagine that the competition is very high. We are getting really good results. almost 50% conversion rate, all the keys are in average position of 1.5, the quality score is high (between 6-10),Search Lost IS, is really low. Everything split to group, zip code, cities, for mobile or desktop... basically everything is going really well. BUT as we always want to increased the results and like all if us we have the presser from the client to improve and get more results, i feel that im a bit stuck. Cannot re-activate PPC after GWT violation has been removed.
Google adwords not allowing us to reactivate after GWT violation removed and site deemed clean by Google. Attempts at reaching them for guidance have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Is it better to place PPC when competition is high or low?
When managing a clients PPC campaign is there any advice on throttling up and down the accounts depending on the search popularity. Let's take "wedding cake" there are obvious trends here https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=wedding cake but would you advise to spend more on Ads during the quite months as competition is low and you can get more click for less cost, or do you load up on clicks when it is more competitive/expencive . Please don't get bogged down in the "weeding cake" keyword, I'm looking more for views on when would be best to load an account in terms of return on investment. For example would you get better quality clicks when low search volumes as opposed to high. Lets also assume that our product costs us the same all year round. I have seen different side to the story. What are your views

I want to try some Google PPC ads on other sites but don't know what i'm doing.
We have seen a massive drop in traffic this year and i am contemplation using banner ads to try to increase sales and also to help with marketing. the problem is i know nothing about doing this. I have used it in the past but to limited success and i was just stabbing in the dark. I have a few questions. Am i better to target keywords related to the product or to the people who may buy my products? Is it better for direct sales or brand awareness? What kind of ROI can i expect if i get it working well? Is it better to pay for the big keywords or pic all the low hanging fruit? Does it work? Should i employ an expert, are they worth it? Any insights into the world of PPc would be a massive help.

PPC for a music shop - advice
Hi, I'm pretty new to this but I'm doing my best, so I've created a few campaigns such as 'Guitars' and 'Drums' and started to add keywords to each one such as 'buy guitars online' etc would it also be wise to add brands to this campaign? or should I create a completely different campaign focusing solely on brands? What are the best ways that PPC and SEO can work together?
This has come up recently internally as we are an agency that traditionally only focuses on SEO. However, when asked to articulate the benefits of how they can work together I normally see rather vague and non-actionable answers that don't really translate to real life always. I can understand how you can use SEO techniques to improve the ROAS of a PPC campaign by improving the quality of a landing page. I am also aware of a number of ways you can use Adwords data from your campaign to improve your SEO campaign but I am curious to know. How else can the two channels work together to help each other out?

Is PPC worthwhile for a product with no search volume?
I'm working on a PPC campaign for a client who provides a luxury service. He has very little search volume in general, and there's one product that has no volume at all. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to run a campaign for this product using the general keywords. I estimate that 95% of the population has no intention of using our service and can't afford it even if they did. For example, say we're a concierge doctor service. When people search for 'medical doctor' or 'medical treatment' they are looking for doctors, and we probably could help them, but they won't want us when they could go to the doctor's office down the street and pay a fraction of the price. Obviously I'd tailor the keywords so it would be as relevant as possible. Yay: If my ads are clear, then whoever clicks them is interested in my product, so my money is being well spent. I'll just have a very low CTR. Nay: Spend the money on advertisement tailored to the target market, both people with existing interest, and those who would want it if they knew we existed. Yay or nay?
