Examples of e-commerce sites using ajax faceted navigation?
-
Does anyone have examples of e-commerce sites successfully using ajax to power faceted navigation?
-
I was really looking for examples but thanks for the response anyway.
-
By successfully I mean using it and getting everything crawled properly.

I have often thought of the same idea of hinding the ajax faceted nav, and haveing a SE friendly alternitive, but then you have the problem of the wrong pages geting ranking, people will come to the site though your static pages missing you elegant UI.
Another thing is, that things do not stay the same, and you now have baggage to carry forward.
If you have the time and the passion to keep it up that great, but I like to make my life simple.
I have hundreds of Visual Studio projects repersenting great inspirational ideas, that never got finished.
What platform do you develop in by the way.
I have come to love ASP.MVC -
Disclaimer: The site I'm referencing is not live yet, but may be relevant to this question.
Welcome to my favorite SEO topic of 2011. I'm about 60-90 days out from debuting an SEO-friendly/AJAX faceted navigated ecommerce site and it has been a wild ride. After doing some technical wheelies and wiping out due to unsuspected gusts of wind (sorry for being overly metaphorical), I ended up crafting a hybrid site that doesn't attempt to give the spiders access to AJAX. Instead, we have a standard text-link navigational structure (for SEO) that is visually de-emphasized.. with AJAX as the emphasized interface (for UI). If you succeed in an AJAX interface that offers SEO-control, I would like a spot in your dojo, sensei.
Again, if this question wasn't meant to aid you in development and you just want some examples, my apologies.

Not off hand, but what do you mean by successfully?
You mean it works well, or successfully in terms of SEO, i can do the first for you, but the latter is real challenging, I often go to sleep thinking of this problem. In a intranet or authenticated admin site this works well, looks good, and gives a good user exsprience, but on a public facing website, plain of html works best for SEO.

Address On Every page for e-Commerce site?
For a primarily e-commerce site, should you have your address on every page (in the footer, for example)? Or is it enough to just have it on the contact page? Thanks, Ruben

Managing website content/keywords for wordpress site
We are in the midst of redesigning our website and have been working with freelance blog/content writers to increase the unique content on our site. We are finding it increasingly difficult to manage the topics/keywords as we continue to expand. Googledrive and google spreadsheets have been our primary tools thus far. Can anyone recommend a good tool that would allow us to manage content and blog posts for our site?

How Can I Make My Site iPhone Friendly?
I have been looking into making my website for iphone friendly as my analytics are not great for the iphone and I know when I try to navigate around it on an iphone it can be tough. I was told that if I make changes to the layout that it would affect my layout across everything, which I did not want to do. So I have two questions: Is this correct regarding the layout? If so, if you did something like m.waikoloavacationrentals.com which would be the mobile version how would that possibly effect your rankings with regards to the traffic distribution? Any feedback would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any experience in doing this I would be interested in discussing further.

Hi All, We are rebuilding an existing site which has around 230 Pages (lots of content not required) down to around 20. Whats the best way to 301 redirect the pages that are going to be removed- (we wont be able to use .htaccess because we are moving to Adobe Business Catalyst) Thoughts? We are trying to preserve as much SEO value as possible.....

Building a Mobile Site: Tools?
I've been tasked with re-building our company's mobile site and honestly have zero experience doing so. I know my way around HTML pretty well and have built several websites but never for mobile. Does anybody have any recommendations for me as far as tools to use to construct a proper mobile site? I basically want a simple page with four buttons on the front and a little drop down menu in the top corner. (not that this matters terribly but just saying, shouldn't need to be overly complicated.) Thanks in advance!

How can i embed my video into a table using SEO embed setting?
We use Wistia.com to embed our videos. They have different options for embed settings and we prefer to use the SEO embed setting, however, when we use that setting we aren't able to insert the video in a table side by side with another image or text. When we try, the video jumps out of the table and the table gets (for lack of a better work) out of wack. When we embed the video with the iframe embed setting, the video can be placed in a table with no issues, but then we don't get the SEO credit. We have our site in wordpress. I'm not sure if that has something to do with the tables getting messed up. Check out this link to see an example of how we want the video to show up. http://www.3000doorhangers.com/ Any suggestions as to how we can use the SEO embed setting within a table as shown in the above link?

AJAX & JQuery Tabs: Indexation & Navigation
Hi I've two questions about indexing Tabs. 1. Let's say I have tabs, or an accordion that is triggered with Jquery. That means that all HTML is accessible and indexed by search engines. But let's say a search query is relevant to the content in Tab#3, while Tab#1 is the one that's open by default. Is there any way that Tab#3 would be open directly if it's more relevant to the search query? 2. AJAX Tabs: We have pages that have Tabs triggered by AJAX (example: http://www.swisscom.ch/en/residential/help/loesung/entfernen-sie-sim-lock.html). I'm wondering about the current best practice. Google recommends HTML Snapshots. A newer SEOMoz Article talks about pushState(). What's the way to go here? Or in other words: How to get Tabs & Accordion content indexed and allow users to navigate directly to it?

What can this charity site do to improve SEO?
Hello wise ones, We have been working with the charity Volunteers of America to create a new site for their car donation program at carshelpingpeople.org They are a national charity with extensive local programs run by regional affiliates, so the site is divided into a small national section linked to Regional Affiliate sections. You get to the regional sections either by entering your zip code or clicking on your state in the bottom nav of the national pages. Right now we have developed regional sections for Michigan, Nevada, Maryland, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Delaware and the Philadelphia area. The site is about 2 1/2 months old, and while our conversion rate is pretty good (7%) our organic search ranking isn't improving as quickly as we'd like to see. Car donation is a very competitive space, and we would appreciate any advice on how to improve the SEO of the site. Thanks so much.
