GWT data v SEO Moz data
-
I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I can't find it-
Looking through the GWT avg position data v SEOMoz ranking data and Market Samurai data there is a large discrepancy. For one term that we hold #1, and have held for a month or two GWTis showing that the avg position is 180 (and down 30).
Any reason you know of why the GWT avg position data would be so out of whack with our SERP's and other data?
Thanks.

Thank you! It was really confusing the heck out of me.

Hi MrPaulB,
GWT take average position for a few different things. For example if you have a few different pages that rank for a keyword it calculates the average rank based on that. For example, if you have a page that ranks number 1 for the keyword "Blue Widgets" and another page that ranks 20th for "Blue Widgets" the average rank would be 10. It's a bad metric to use and often confuses people.

Abnormal crawl issues appearing in my Moz results
I have been asked to look at a site for a friend and was more than surprised to see 16,9k crawl issues appear in the dashboard... of this 6,238 are duplicate page content and 5878 are duplicated page titles. What on earth is going on? I have spoken to the web developer as it appears there is a dev site somewhere and this is his response [Can I stress that Google determines which site was in the index first and then removes other sites it sees as having duplicate content. Our dev sites appearing in the search index would not affect your ranking due to duplicate content as Google would see your site as the first site with the content] As I cannot make contact with him, I am scratching my head, surely a dev site should be no-indexed, it sounds as though he is saying that its ok because Google will take the main site as the first site with the content... Very confused! Help need MOZ community. Manythanks, Sarah

How many times have you reauthorized your facebook account for Moz analytics?
I have hardly any facebook data, because Moz constantly needs me to reauthorize it. It's extremely annoying, but I wanted to make sure this is a Moz error and not a user error. Is it just me or do other people have to keep doing this as well? Thanks, Ruben

How do you get your web site recrawled with Moz without waiting for a week?
My initial crawl was screwed up because of a no follow that needed to be removed. I would like Moz to recrawl the site right away so I can find any other errors.

Historical Linkscape/OSE data available?
Hey Mozzerati, I'm curious if there's a way to expose and analyze historical data from each previous Linkscape/OpenSiteExplorer (OSE) update. Essentially, I'm looking for something similar to MajesticSEO's Backlink History tool that can show you both daily links over a short time as well as cumulative links over a long period. I think the utility of such a tool is to see which competitors have gained many links over a short period, signalling that they're engaging in some form of link-building/-buying/-baiting activity. Is there any way to yield this data (other than to record it manually after each Linkscape/OSE update) from SEOmoz PRO tools?
