Does Google see this as an inbound link?
-
Hi,
I'm looking at adding my site to a directory. It's highly relevant to my industry and has relatively good PA/DA.
The external links on the directory uses some PHP code like the following:
http://www.ThisDirectory.com/visit.php?i=3141635&url=http://www.ExternalDomain.com
Obviously the links works as a redirect but they do not show up in OSE. Would Google count this link as an inbound link?
Thanks,
-
I can't imagine Google wouldn't take notice of a link like you're describing, if they'd come from an authoratative site. An example: http://jguide.stanford.edu/directory/url.lasso?id=1809&lang=en&url=http%3A//www.fashioninjapan.com/
The server header is a temporary 302 redirect though in this case, which isn't as valuable as a 301.

Internal Link Building and Link Juice Quality
Hi There! I manage the website for a law office that covers many geographical locations. For very specific niche content, we would prefer to create one piece of content and link to the various geographic locations where we would handle that topic instead of posting multiple variations of the same content for each specific geographical area. If we put a button on these pages that has links to each location, will that have the same "link juice" effect to the pages we're linking that linking directly in the text would? (example: the Where can we help you? button on this page : http://www.zdfirm.com/volkswagen-recall/) Thank you!

When do my links show up?
For the last two weeks I have been working on linkbuilding. I have downloaded competitors link reports and started contacting or submitting links. In the last two weeks I have gotten about 50-60 or so. In the newest report it shows I went up four c-blocks. Why is that? It is kind of discouraging.

Do links within imbeddable widgets carry link juice?
I'm dipping my toes into infographic design. On of my desired outcomes is to gain links by having other sites embed my graphic. I'm considering using Tableau's interactive data visualization software to do so; thus creating a widget, embedding it on my blog, and including the embed code for others to post. Is it possible to include a juice passing link in such an infographic? I know its possible to include links inside the tableau graphic but not sure if they have straight SEO value. If these links are not juice passing would it be better to go with a simple image link that passes value?

Will removing old (3 years+), low quality inbound links potentially improve my rankings?
I have a client site with thousands of old very low quality links purchased from directories etc over several years - I am certain these are doing nothing for the current rankings and I advised them to stop buying these links 18 months ago when I first started working with them, but do you think pro-actively getting old poor quality backlinks removed will potentially improve the site's rankings?
