Sub pages Vs subdomain Pagerank flow.
-
I Have Question about Pagerank flow:
If ihave a site :domain.com and i have 2 solutions like:
Solution #1:Quote:
| domain.com/blog and domain.com/video if i try to do :
Root domain only link to
domain.com/video and
domain.com/blog |Solution #2:
Quote:
| Root domain only link to
video.domain.com and
blog.domain.com |So <acronym title="Google PageRank">Pr</acronym> domain.com/blog = <acronym title="Google PageRank">Pr</acronym> blog.domain.com ?
and <acronym title="Google PageRank">PR</acronym> domain.com/video = <acronym title="Google PageRank">Pr</acronym> video.domain.com ?And don't know why a subdomain of blogspot or Wordpress ranking easier than a new domain like:keyword.wordpress.com and keyword.com
So What Wordpress pass to keyword.wordpress.com ?
-
so if i start a new subdomain of Wordpress.Do i benefit anything from Root domain?
Something like:Mozrank,Trust Rank?
If you have a good Link building a new blog of Blogger.com will ranking faster than a new domain .i tested.
I mean i don't know exactly What MEtric flow pass to Subdomain and Sub pages?

Subdomains are likely to be treated more like their own website as compared to a folder.
Ex) keyword.wordpress.com vs wordpress.com/keyword. The subdomain is likely to not be as closely related to the root domain as compared to the folder.
And don't know why a subdomain of blogspot or Wordpress ranking easier than a new domain like:keyword.wordpress.com and keyword.com
There's a lot of factors at work here. It's very difficult to tell why one would be ranking better than the other without seeing the pages. It's likely that it has nothing to do with the being a subdomain at wordpress.com. Technically they should be treated very similar.
I hope that helps,
Scott

Hi Tai,
I would prefer sub-folders, as I have understood the PR flow better to sub-folders than to sub-domains.
Here are a few useful resources:

Should search pages be indexed?
Hey guys, I've always believed that search pages should be no-indexed but now I'm wondering if there is an argument to index them? Appreciate any thoughts!

Canonical Page Question
Hi, I have a question relation to Canonical pages That i need clearing up. I am not sure that my bigcommere website is correctly configured and just wanted clarification from someone in the know. Take this page for example https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/ Canonical link is https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/ The Rel="next" link is https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?sort=bestselling&page=2 and this page has a canonical tag as rel='canonical' href='https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?page=2' /> Is this correct as above and working as it should or should the canonical tag for the second (pagination page) https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?page=2 in our source code be saying rel='canonical' href='https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/' />

Sub Domain Redirect
Hey Everyone, Here is the situation : Currently, a website's sub domain is being redirected to the main website home page. We're having issues getting the sub domain pages indexed. Just want to confirm that it is because of the redirect on the sub domain URL. Should we kill the sub domain redirect and set it up as it's own page? Will that solve the indexing issue for the sub domain pages. More explanation below: subdomain.domain.com currently redirects to domain.com We're having issues indexing pages belonging to the sub domain ( subdomain.url.com/page1 or subdomain.url.com/page2) Appreciate your input in advance. Cheers,

Unavoidable duplicate page
Hi, I have an issue where I need to duplicate content on a new site that I am launching. Visitors to the site need to think that product x is part of two different services. e.g. domain.com/service1/product-x domain.com/service2/product-x Re-writing content for product x for each service section is not an option but possibly I could get over that only one product-x page is indexed by search engines. What's the best way to do this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Stuart

Page feedback
We recently wrote a new website page to cover the direct mail services our organization offers. We kept the title tag to 70 characters, the meta description under 150 characters. H1 tag has what we feel is the most important term. If anyone out there has time to review & provide a little feedback, we'd really appreciate it. It would be great to know if it is built well and providing a solid end user experience. http://www.cushingco.com/print_products/additional_services/direct_mail.shtml At the moment, the only links pointing to this page are from our blog. One bit of content I am contemplating is a short paragraph - What is Direct Mail Marketing? Literally providing a short definition of it. The page was activated last Thursday and showing up in some Google results on the 4th/5th page but I am thinking this is probably just a temporary bump for now. Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Has Google stopped rendering author snippets on SERP pages if the author's G+ page is not actively updated?
Working with a site that has multiple authors and author microformat enabled. The image is rendering for some authors on SERP page and not for others. Difference seems to be having an updated G+ page and not having a constantly updating G+ page. any thoughts?

Pages plummeting in ranking
Hi all, I have a question, which i hope you can answer for me. I have a site www.betxpert.com (a danish betting site) and we have tried to do some SEO to improve conversions. One of the steps we have taken was to link to all of our bookmaker reviews in our menu (a mega menu). All of our bookmakers have an img and text link in the menu. The menu is shown on every page of the site. Since we have made this change we have been plumeting down the SERPs. For the search "betsafe" this page http://www.betxpert.com/bookmakere/betsafe is no longer in the top 50. We also added the "stars" so that the google result will show our over all review for the bookmaker, in order to stand out in the SERPs. Can anyone explain to me what the problem might be? Over extensive internal linking or?

Pagerank and 301s
Hi all For various reasons some of our pages were renamed from: http://www.meresverige.dk/rejser/malmoe to: http://www.meresverige.dk/rejser/malmo We have made proper 301 redirects and also updated sitemap.xml accordingly. The change was done about 5th of September. The content on the pages remain identical. This page, and all pages below it in the structure now get very low or no page-rank at all. Much lower than it was before the name change. Any ideas to how long, if ever, it will take for Google to transfer the page-rank from the old page? Any suggestions to what we can do to make the process faster?
