Where do these URL's come from?! (Indexation issues)
-
We have an international webshop with languages in the URLs. Our URLs are now set up as follows:
http://thermalunderwear.eu/eng/category/product
Now, we know that there's some kind of strange redirect problem causing problems with our indexation, this is a technical issue that should be fixed soon. But whether this is the cause of some other strange problems, I do not know. I'd be happy with any help/advice/tips.
1. The SEOmoz site crawler starts at http://thermalunderwear.eu. This currently does not yet redirect to http://thermalunderwear.eu/eng like we want it to, but all the links on the page do include the default language code. So all links on the page are http://thermalunderwear.eu/eng/category etc. However, apart from those URLs, the site crawler finds many URLs in the form http://thermalunderwear.eu/category/product etc., so not including the language variable. Where it gets these I do not know, and since these URLs dont exist and the webshop simply shows the homepage, these URLs all have 50+ duplicate titles/content. Why oh why?
2. If I do a Google search for indexed URL's with English as language, I get many results formatted like this:
Coldpruf Enthusiast mens thermal shirt - Thermal wear for men ...
thermalunderwear.eu/eng/men/coldpruf-enthusiast-mens-thermal-shirt 170+ items – Fine-ribbed longsleeve thermal shirt men from Enthusiast ... {$SCRIPT_NAME} eng/men/coldpruf-enthusiast-mens-the {$ajax_url} http://thermalunderwear.eu/ajaxWhat are those variables doing there? It looks like it's taking something from our Smarty debug console, which is hidden but still active in the source code, but also the ajax URL which is in a completely different location. What is Google trying to show here?
-
It sees it as a list, its like rich snipits , its a huge amount of your content, and things it is the main content.
see these reullts. 40+ is a list i have in my page, it shows a few samples
-
I guess that is the only solution then. I don't quite understand why Google picks that information to show in the SERP text (as well as the 170+ items) but we'll try disabling the Smarty debugging when we're not actively using it. I hope it helps!

I looked in the souce code of this page
http://thermalunderwear.eu/eng/men/devold-alpine-knee-thermal-socks-electric-blue
And i found {$SCRIPT_NAME} eng/men/coldpruf-enthusiast-mens-the
Your dubug code is in the souce code. you need to get rid of it, disable it or something. I have not used smarty debug, so I cant help much.

Ah thanks Alan! It looks like there is a problem in the code that generates the breadcrumb URLs. We will get that fixed asap, whicih should lower the number of duplicate content warnings considerably.
-
Your first problem
Look at this page,
http://thermalunderwear.eu/eng/kids-thermal-underwear/coldpruf-enthusiast-kids-thermal-shirt
you will see a link to http://thermalunderwear.eu/kids-thermal-underwear/coldpruf-enthusiast-kids-thermal-shirt
I will look at your other porblem in a few minutes

Schema.org Identification issues?
Hello, My question relates to Schema.org identification on specific pages within our site. This may sound very amateurish so please bare with me. Using the MozBar Chrome plugin and looking withing the Markup tab, the results say that MozBar does NOT find Schema.org markup on our page. However, going to the Google Structure Data Testing Tool results in the opposite. I see the Schema.org code and the tool seems to verify with no errors. An example of a page that has Schema.org implemented would be: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Acura_MDX/ So the final question is: Should I be worried that the MozBar isn't locating the markup? The results in Google SERP seem to reflect the correct code. thank you!

I've tried everything, and my blog still falling
Hello everyone! 🙂 I'm almost desperate, and trying to find a solution to one of my blogs. Below is it URL: http://www.xboxplus.net/ It has more than 3 years, and even so I get just around 700-1000 visitors a day. I have already applied several SEO techniques, tried several SEO plugins, tried to work with keywords, etc, but nothing changes. I see several other sites and blogs of the same niche (games), with much less content (I have more than 3800 articles, in 3 years), practicing plagiarism, stealing content, etc, and with much more visitors and revenue. I have never done nothing wrong. Never stole content. I always worked honestly, and always tried to write articles with "something more". I really don't know what happens with XboxPlus.net . And, how can, for example, Seomoz helps me, here? I would be very grateful for any help. 😄

Issue with Opesiteexplorer report
Hi, When I pulled backlinks report for my website from opensite explorer. I see the backlinks listing for my homepage is duplicated with index page. Ex. For a external website my homepage www.website.com as well as www.website.com/index.php shows as backlinks. Note: I had given rel=canonical tag to my homepage and index.php is 301 redirection to the homepage. I find this error only to my homepage and I don't find this issue to my inner pages. I would like to know whether this is an issue with opensiteexplorer or a problem with my homepage url. Your answers are appreciated.

What's been the best SERP rank tracker for you?
I do a lot of my SERP ranking tracking via Aaron Wall's Rank Checker, but I'm realizing it's taking up too much time. I was looking at Raven's tools and a few others. What's been your favorite thus far? If you do reply, can you talk about: price capabilities time savings b/c of it graphical UI other thoughts I like SEOMoz's UI, but I can only manage 5 domains and I don't have a huge budget yet. Also, if there's a rank checker out there that incorporates google places results, that would be great too! Maybe too good, eh?

Why do pages with canonical urls show in my report as a "Duplicate Page Title"?
eg: Page One
Moz Pro | | DPSSeomonkey
<title>Page one</title>
No canonical url Page Two
<title>Page one</title> Page two is counted as being a page with a duplicate page title.
Shouldn't it be excluded?0 -
Is having the company's address in the footer (or header) of each webpage important for SEO?
Is having the company/office's address in the footer (or header) of each webpage important for SEO? Your page for the Geotarget tool says that having the address in this element helps search engines find your location. My question is, how important or relevant is this to SEO? How does knowing the address influence SEO? Is it best SEO practice to put the address in the footer of every webpage? http://www.seomoz.org/geotarget
