HTML E-mail Preventing Link Request?
-
Hi there,
The last couple of months we have had quite a few link request e-mails apparently not being received.
Our e-mails are sent out through Mozilla Thunderbird, so not an e-mail platform. However we use a HTML template to ensure our business logo and footers are consistent and to help raise awareness of the brand.
Is there any chance that some e-mails may well be blocked (e.g. by filters) because we're using HTML e-mails rather than a standard e-mail format and does anyone have any advice for ensuring e-mails get through (other than getting the right contact name if possible).
Thanks in advance,
Martin

Thanks, I will check it out. I only understand basic German so I will see if the site translates into English. But we need to be aware of a few options. Thank you.

Thanks so much for this, I will check it all out before our next set of e-mail link prospecting requests are sent out.

Hi Martin, yes u are right its no sew easy
Since about 6 month we are using a Link managing Tool that also provides a Mail-Ticket System inside - since that time we don't have this problem any more.
The Software is Calley http://www.linkbird.de/ (I think its also available in english)

We are just using a .png - how do you avoid keyword blocking though? It's not like you can instantaneously avoid the word 'link' or providing a URL somewhere in the e-mail. How do you get round it?

Hi Martin,
yes i think so - sometimes we have the same problem. It can also be a .gif image ore some words in your post causing that.

How Do I Know which links are bad?
Hi All I have currently got a Manual Action on my Webmaster Tools account due to some unnatural links and I am in the process of seeding out the poor links with a view to having them removed or disavowed. Other than looking at each link individually to see if it looks relevant or spammy. Any ideas on how I can gauge which links are bad and which aren't??

I can't understand why our Pinterest boards don't show up as external links (nor do our YouTube videos). However, one of our competitor's Pinterest boards is in the top ten as far as their external links go. Clues?

Spammy Links in MOZ but when I go to the external link I can't find a link to us
I was going to try to contact webmasters to see if they would remove some of our spammy links. I see alot of them in MOZ but when you go to the site our anchor text is not there. Is this good? How often does MOZ refresh external links. Please see: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.totalvac.com None of the links for the anchor text <a class="clickable title link-pivot" title="See top linking pages that use this anchor text." data-text="vacuum cleaner parts vacuum parts vacuum bags vacuum cleaner bags" data-id="46391436859">vacuum cleaner parts vacuum part...</a> in MOZ exist? I want to design SEO link building strategy for my website? Is wordpress.com, squidoo, tumblr, blogger, typepad - Good option for link building?
I am currently concentrating on 8 keywords, for e.g (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H). I will be writing blogs with 2 of any related keywords present in it. I am thinking to post 5 blogs on 5 different platforms as (wordpress.com, Squidoo, Typepad, Tumblr, blogger) respectively. I am thinking a strategy as: Monday: Keyword A,B on Wordpress/ C,D on Squidoo/E,F on Typepad/G,H on Blogger/ A,C on Tumblr. Tuesday:C,D on Wordpress/E,F on Squidoo/ etc.... and will rotate these keywords through out the week and the cycle restarts on Monday. The URL for every keyword will be different and relevant to that keyword. I need quick suggestion on this topic..Please..

Which Links to Disavow!
We just took over SEO for a new client who is being penalized for a bad link profile. They've asked Google to reconsider multiple times, and Google still claims that the links are bad. Because of this, and because I don't have direct access (logins, etc.) to what the former SEO did, I am considering using the disavow links tool. The most obvious links to disavow are a group of almost 1000 links that come from the same forum. However, when viewing the links on this forum they actually seem natural. People are reviewing the product (ipod cases), both negatively and positively. While this could have been an SEO tactic for link building, I don't want to disavow these links if they're not the problem, even though this domain is the source of almost all the low-quality links. Another site that has more than 200 links is Askives. Do any of you have experience with links from Askives, or removing these links? Thanks again!

Outbound links
Hi there, i know inbound links are what hold the main value in terms of link building but if i have an inbound link from a big company such as ITV or BBC and they have put an article on their site linking back to mine, would it be beneficial if i made a comment on my site and then link back to their article or will this not really help? Sorry as you can tell im very new to seo! thanks anthony
