Is anybody else having great difficulty in finding good link opportunities on Open Site Explorer?
-
I've been using OSE for a while now, and I'm struggling to see any value in it. When I search my competitors link profiles, I find just hundreds and hundreds of crappy reciprocal links, splogs or the like. I have to go through days and days (thousands of links) before I find anything worth using.
Is anybody having this sort of problem?
Thanks

This issue isn't OSE problem, it sounds like its your competitors problem. You should be using it to see what your competitor is doing, then figure out a way on your own to do better than them - Which from the sounds of it shouldn't be too hard.

I've run in to the same issue with a few of our clients as well, I don't really think it's anything wrong with OSE but moreso an indication that your competition has a history of acquiring bad links. For example, one of our clients' competitors has over 500 links from foreign language websites and they are a local furniture store in Texas. I've begun to use OSE as more of a profile builder for link building as well as a research tool for my competitor's anchor text.

Maybe that is a signal that there is easy money to be made?

How do I mprove site visibility and keyword ranking for new product site
Hi, Sorry if this is a ridiculous post as I am really new to SEO, but I haven't had this problem with other sites! We had a website www.r-dna.co.uk that was never promoted or used very much as it was early days in the product lifecycle. The product (is called R-DNA or Remote Data Network Analysis) is now live so we re-branded and re-launched the site - it has now been live since the beginning of September but we still only have 0.35% visibility and very little ranking in our keywords. We are also using Google Adwords to try and generate business and have registered with numerous online business directories. I have been blogging to update content, tweeting and updating our facebook page, but we still aren't getting the traffic or visibility increases that we have experienced with our other sites. The MOZ site crawl shows 5 medium priority issues (duplicate title page & missing meta description tag), but no major issues. I know its probably fairly early days for a "new" site, but wondered if anyone could advise if there is anything wrong which would explain our lack of visibility.

Why Doesn't Open Site Explorer show Domain Links from Twitter, WordPress or Feedburner?
I commented on a few blog posts and wanted to see the domain authority of those sites. When I look at our domain links, I notice the links are not there from the blogs (which I now know I have to give it time to show up). But I also noticed that domains with links to our website (regularly) were not showing up either. i .e Twitter, WordPress and Feedburner. I know we have links in these locations, especially Twitter. Why would these domains not show up? Much thanks!

Open Site explorer
I checked some of the results with OSE that ranked top on Goolge SERPS that have high Domain Authority,Page Authority 1 and content on the website's particular page is thin. How come they rank high when PA is very low?

Settings to crawl entire site
Not sure what happened but I started a third campaign yesterday and only 1 pages was crawled, The other two campaigns has 472 and 10K respectively. What is the proper setting to choose in the beginning of campaign setup to have the entire site crawled. Not sure what I did different and I must be reading the instructions incorrectly. Thanks, Don

Is Keyword Difficulty an absolute measure, or relative to my site?
We were able to rank very well for a specific keyword. After signing seomoz I've figured out that this keyword has a difficulty of 1%. All the other similar keywords I've researched have difficulties greater than 20%. Is the Difficulty related to my site? Or is it absolute?

Factoring in OBL to Open Site Explorer
Morning all - I've been using Open Site Explorer a fair bit since I signed up to SEOMoz a couple of months ago and found it to be a little different to other tools in the past, so would welcome some thoughts on what I should be looking for when I run reports. For example, I've always thought that Outbound links should be important when deciding whether to place a link on a a particular site, but in OSE I'm only given a Page Ranking and a Domain Ranking. Am I therefore to understand that these two factors outrank OBL and that the number of links on a page don't matter? Or have these been factored into the overall Page rank already? Thanks a lot for your help,

Is there such thing as a site free from errors?
Or is this a given? I am new to SEO and SEOmoz. One of my campaigns is completley free of errors...the others are a work in progress. Now I realize that SEO is never done, but can a site actually be free of errors? If so... I just gave myself a pat on the back.
