Crawl Diagnostics - How to find where broken links are located?
-
Hi,
One of my sites has a 4xx error that has been picked up in the crawl diagnostics section.
It is a broken link. Does anybody know if it is possible for me to find out which page the broken link was found on?
I have checked all of the pages on the site that I thought were linking to the page that seems to have a problem but all of these links are fine / not broken.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thank you both - I will give this a go.

+1 for Xenu - run Xenu over your site, when it finds a broken link you can get a list of which pages it appears on

Crawl depth and www
I've run a crawl on a popular amphibian based tool, just wanted to confirm... should http://www.homepage be at crawl depth 0 or 1? The audit shows http://homepage at level 0 and http://www.homepage at level 1 through a redirect. Thanks

Too many footer links?
Hi. We're working on http://www.gear-zone.co.uk/ at the moment, and I was wondering what's everyone's opinion on footer links. There's quite a lot on the page, and I was wondering if there might be a few too many. If so, what would be the best plan of action? Remove them altogether, stick them in an iframe or in a bit of JS so they can't be crawled? Thanks!

If you add a no follow to a time sensitive link, will it get picked up as broken link 404 in WMT report?
We have a client who publishes deals that are time sensitive. Links to the deals expire and so Google's crawlers are picking them up and finding a 404 If I no follow them, will the 404's still get picked up and reported in WMT? The same question applies to SEOMoz Pro.
