Do search engines only count links that have google analytics?
-
I am reading a thread right now and I came across this statement:
Search engines can view clicks only if websites have Google analytics or some toolbar installed. Obviously that's not the case with over 50% of the websites. That's why I don't agree with your comment.
True or False?

To answer this question: Do search engines only count links that have google analytics?
No. That sounds ridiculous. What about omniture and webmetrics?

Are you rereferring to search engine's ability "count links" or "view clicks"?
The title says the former and the message is about the latter, hence my confusionIf you are talking about clicks - let's not forget that they have access to a LOT more data from other sources like Chrome, Android, etc. There is no sure way to know (as of now) if they are using that data though.
If you are referring to "view links", then yes they can as their cute little crawlers can sneak in and read website pages whether the site has Analytics installed or not

What to try when Google excludes your URL only from high-traffic search terms and results?
We have a high authority blog post (high PA) that used to rank for several high-traffic terms. Right now the post continues to rank high for variations of the high-traffic terms (e.g keyword + " free", keyword + " discussion") but the URL has been completed excluded from the money terms with alternative URLs of the domain ranking on positions 50+. There is no manual penalty in place or a DCMA exclusion. What are some of the things ppl would try here? Some of the things I can think of: - Remove keyword terms in article - Change the URL and do a 301 redirect - Duplicate the POST under new URL, 302 redirect from old blog post, and repoint links as much as you have control - Refresh content including timestamps - Remove potentially bad neighborhood links etc Has anyone seen the behavior above for their articles? Are there any recommendations? /PP

Search engine keyword rank - easiest way to check the keywords that rank across website
What is the best keyword ranking tool you have used? I have used various tools by which I am expected to identify and input the keyword I want to track... However, recently I was introduced to Searchmetrics, which I think automatically pulls in the keywords a website ranks for, without the need for manual input from the SEO (I haven't used this tool yet, so apologies if I am incorrect!). Do any other rank trackers work like this? Thanks, Luke
