Small Doubt about Google Keyword Tool Search Data
-
No. of searches for some query in Google Keyword Tool for a specific country shows data for last 12 months or for last 1 month? Please reply.
-
No - you haven't blocked visitors from other countries - you've just given an indicator to Google that your site is relevant for visitors from a particular country.
If you have a site geared towards people living in the UK, you tell Google that this site is relevant for people in the UK. This will tell them the site should show up in UK searches or about a particular topic relating to the UK, but for a similar query in the US, the site is not relevant. You haven't blocked users from other countries so much as you've told the search engine this site should be shown for users from this country.
If you're targeted a language based demographic, like Arabic speakers, you wouldn't use the geotargeting tool, because you want arabic speakers from multiple countries. That's how the tool works.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Also answer this please
I have geo targeted my domain for my country. Does it mean that I have blocked visitors from other countries.

Thanks @Mark. Now I know that it is actually averaged value for the last 12 months. Thanks once again

The aggregate columns you are showing are monthly averages. You can also show the column for monthly search volume - once you've turned on this setting, when you export it, the csv will include the searches per month - this is helpful for understanding seasonal keyword trends

Google News Carousell
Hi Guys, Just watched Randi's last White Board Friday. He was talking about Google shake0ups and the fact that Google is more often returning results where there is a news carousel at the top of page one. Has anyone seen any research to show if people who are looking for a product / solution are actively clicking on these news items or not? And should this news carousel be considered the number one spot, or is the number one spot still the fist true SERP result shown below it? Many thanks Si

Am I blind or has Google finally shut down its "Related Searches" option?
I know I just used this a few days ago, so I was surprised when doing keyword research today that I could no longer access the "Related Searches" feature in Google search. Has anyone else noticed this? It's a pity if it's gone, although I think Google announced it was going to shut this down over a year ago. They said the same thing about the "Patent" search too, but it is still available. I know using "Related Searches" was really popular with SEOs so I am wondering if anyone else is as sad-faced as I am? Or perhaps was it just bumped today so Google could have fun with their April Fool's beta test of Google "Nose" ?

Google Webmaster Keyword Significance.
In my google webmaster tools the most significant keyword google attaches to my site is word 'VAT' as in, Value Added Tax. Followed by Basket. I can see why this is, as the word VAT and Basket is on every product page, but it really is not a keyword I want to target. Does this have any negative effect on other keywords I am targeting? What should I do about this? Here is the site: https://www.loveelectronics.co.uk

Google Search Volume Disparities
Hello, I have been researching search volumes for awhlie now for key terms related to my industry, as well as working towards better rankings for those terms that have higher search volumes using on-page optimization, external link anchor texts, etc. The only tool I use for this research is the Google keyword tool. Today when I was looking at the keyword difficulty for a particular term (first time I
Keyword Research | | mreisbeck
had used this tool in my SEOMOZ account), I saw how the search volumes are listed for both broad and exact match from Google's API. As I said I've based my strategies around results from Google's keyword tool, but now I see that, for a particular term that I have been focused on, there are 15,000 searches for "broad" match and 91 for "exact" match. I just checked the keyword tool at Google and there is apparently no way to set a keyword up to search for its "exact" match search statistics. Is this only available using their API? I'm on the floor here. Does this mean I've been optimizing for a term that has less than
a hundred searches a month as opposed to 15,000? If so, can anyone here reccommend any search volume tool that can deliver a higher degree of accuracy so I can make better
judgements regarding how I will spend my time and effort regarding SEO (and in fact,
to some degree, my budget for PPC)? Any help provided will be much appreciated. Mike0
