Can I write guest blogs on competitor's blogs?
-
I have been doing some guest blogging and its hard to find guest blogs opportunities. I have found some but they are direct competitors. Is it safe to write guest post? by the way the are not local competitors. Any suggestion please. thanks

Absolutely its fine. If they are local you run the risk of your article helping your competitor to outrank you (see EGOL's hilarious example). But if the competitor is not local, its a relevant site and a great place for a blog post. Getting them to do publish it may not be so easy however...

This is stepping into the alligator pond.....
One of my competitors offered me a really good article to post on my site. I really liked the article. My visitors really like it. Very low bounce rate, it holds visitors about 5 minutes, ranks really well for lots of money keywords.....
Then he is really upset when that page on my site ranks above his site in lots of SERPs and is pulling thousands of visitors into my site.
He hasn't given me any more articles.

Hi,
It all depends, first off majority of you competitors will not allow you to guest blog with no incentive. I would recommend finding similar niche type sites to guest blog on. If you are a local service and they do the same thing as you in a different location then they will more likely approve a guest blog post.

Is your company a local one, like a pizza place or a shoe-repair business? If so, then people who are in your industry but not in your city are not actually competitors. If you're both national companies in direct competition, though, I find it hard to believe they'd accept your guest post.

How do we find keyword opportunities - but not just against 3 competitors...
Hello everyone! How can I find out what might be a keyword opportunity against a competitor but make sure it's still a realistic opportunity in SERPS generally?* After all, we are not just competing with 2 or 3 competitors. We are competing against everyone! Perhaps there is a part of the keyword research process that helps? I can't help but think there's a wasted effort to just beat a couple of competitors unless you can rank well generally - especially if it's a competitive sector. (*I'm not in the position of making lots of pages as part of a long-tail keyword/ content strategy so I need to focus on just a few and make them count) Thanks in advance. Mp

What is a desirable range for a keyword's difficulty rating?
Hi all! I am new to the world of SEO and just getting started. As I am doing keyword research I am consistently finding difficulty ratings in the 40%-50% range. Is this considered a "par" rating or should I be looking for "a longer tail" rating? Thanks
