RSS Feed - Dupe Content?
-
OK so yesterday a website agreed to publish my RSS feed and I just wanted to check something.
The site in question is far more established than mine and I am worrying that with my content appearing on their website pretty much at the same time as mine, will Google index theirs first and therefore consider mine to be dupe?
They are linking back to each of my articles with the text "original post" and I'm not sure whether this will help.
Thanks in advance for any responses!

I'd personally be worried about this. I'd do this:
- Publish a few articles just on your site
- Note how long it takes Google to find them
- If this is a long time (ie more than 24 hours), maybe do a few social bookmarks - drop the link on Stumbleupon, Twitter, Facebook etc when you publish them. If using wordpress, you can get it to do this automatically.
- Now see what the time is for Google to index your pages
- Set up your RSS feed so it updates 24 hours or 48 hours after your site content is added, whatever it takes to get the post indexed on your site before their site.
- You could even control this individual feed's delay using http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/1397/delaying-one-rss-feed-in-wordpress-but-not-the-others
- This way, you haven't got to get them to do anything at their end

Personally I don’t think so… but I guess to be on the safe side you can always ask him to add a canonical tag on your RSS feed and the issue will be resolved forever… btw I have seen many websites which copy others content and this thing usually don’t arises…
In my opinion Google is good at picking up this issue.

Yes, you are courting controversy here. There is no need to feature the same content in other external website. If you can manage to convince the website owners to place a rel syndicate tag on every article that gets published there [pointing to the original article], you would not have to fear anything.

Do quizzes hurt your site? Thin content?
We did a 10 question quiz awhile back relating to something we were sponsoring, and it had a decent response. However, considering quizzes just aren't that long, does that contribute to making the site's content thin? Obviously, it's not a major problem at the moment, but if we did more of them would this be an issue? If there's no real issue, I'd prefer not to no-index them, but I'd love some feedback to help make the decision. Thanks, Ruben

Moving Content From One Site To Another
Generally speaking if I am just moving a couple of articles from one site to another I need to 301 redirect those old URL's to the new ones right? And even if a webpage doesn't have any links pointing to it, it is best practice to employ 301 redirects correct? After a while, after Google etc. has crawled the new location of the content you can then delete the old URL, is that right? And if other sites are linking to the old location they should be notified of the new location but even if a page has links pointing to it, is it best practice to delete that page after Google has crawled the new and you've notified the webmaster? I've think I've got this right, I just want some clarification on this issue. Thanks.

Duplicate video content question
This is really two questions in one. 1. If we put a video on YouTube and on our site via Wistia, how would that affect our rankings/authority/credibility? Would we get punished for duplicate video content? 2. If we put a Wistia hosted video on our website twice, on two different pages, we would get hit for having duplicate content? Any other suggestions regarding hosting on Wistia and YouTube versus just Wistia for product videos would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Duplicate Content Errror
I am getting a duplicate content error for urls for the "tags" or categories pages for my blog. These are some the URLs that SEOmoz is saying are errors, or duplicate pages. http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=Facebook http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=content+marketing http://sacmarketingagency.com/blog/?Tag=inbound+marketing As you can see, they are just the pages that are aggregating certain blog post based on how we tagged them with the appropriate category. Is this really a problem for our SEO, if so any suggestions on how to fix this?

Duplicate content by category name change
Hello friends, I have several problems with my website related with duplicate content. When we changed any family name, for example "biodiversidad" to "cajas nido y biodiversidad", it creates a duplicate content because: mydomain.com/biodiversidad and mydomain.com/cajas-nido-y-biodiversidad have the same content. This happens every tame I change the names of the categories or families. To avoid this, the first thing that comes to my mid is a 301 redirect from the old to the new url, but I wonder if this can be done more automatically otherwise, maybe a script? Any suggestion? Thank you
