Using same IP for differenct country TLD versions
-
Hi
Will having a websites in several languages hosted on the same IP be a problem SEO wise if they are using different country TLD's?
In this case shopdomain.de, at and co.uk on the exact same server IP

The server ip address can help with regards to country ranking. I wouldn't say it would be a massive issue as shared hosting from companies such as 1&1 you have a choice of Germany or UK and thats it (half the time not even a choice).
If you can have the ip from each country it would help show that you are actually in that country but i wouldn't say Its the be all or end all it's probably more of a tip to optimise it further rather than a must. If you are that worried look at some of the websites that are ranking high for your chosen search terms and look at the IP's to see where they are hosted then you will know what you are up against.
Remember a lot of large corporate companies normally won't host in the country they are targeting they will normally have their hosting in either their IT department location or with whoever their managed services company is. (normally where the head office is based)

Using one robots.txt for two websites
I have two websites that are hosted in the same CMS. Rather than having two separate robots.txt files (one for each domain), my web agency has created one which lists the sitemaps for both websites, like this: User-agent: * Disallow: Sitemap: https://www.siteA.org/sitemap Sitemap: https://www.siteB.com/sitemap Is this ok? I thought you needed one robots.txt per website which provides the URL for the sitemap. Will having both sitemap URLs listed in one robots.txt confuse the search engines?

Which url should i use? Thanks!
I have a question regarding how to use my url, we are a Swedish-based website which have the url, http://interimslösning.se/ (that contains the Swedish letter “ö”) so the url can also be written as http://xn--interimslsning-3pb.se/. Which of the following url should I use for my backlinks, http://interimslösning.se/ or http://xn--interimslsning-3pb.se/ ? What is the difference between them regarding SEO? And is it good or bad to use letter like "ö" or other characters like that in your url? I was thinking that maybe it is good to use the letter "ö" for local search optimization in sweden, but i don't know.. Thanks in advance! Greetings,

Using both .co.uk and .com
Hello a client has launched a website with both the .com and .co.uk The content is identical. I understand that you should add rel="alternate" hreflang="x" to the code. However, will there be a problem with the identical content? It would be hard to localise the content to one country. I understand why the client has got both domains, particularly the UK one but the actual content is not specific to one country. It is written for English speaking customers really. Also what about links? In this case do you need to build two sets of links to make them both rank? Thanks for any help.

Is it ok to use H1 tags in breadcrumbs?
A client has an e-commerce site and she doesn't want a page title on the products page. She has breadcrumbs though. Her website developer suggests putting the H1 on the breadcrumbs. So: products> Gifts > picture frame with h1 tags round the word "picture frame". Is this ok to do? Or is it a bad thing for SEO purposes? Thanks

How to attach at text to image that other websites use from my website
I often have other websites link to my website. They will do this with an image that they pull off of my website. (actually my website continues to serve the image). These inbound links are great, but they don't have alt text. Is there a way for me to attach alt text to the images, or is this something the other website needs to code themselves?
