I have a competitor who has the following Linking Root Domains numbers on the Linking Domains tab and was wondering if some one could explain what the numbers mean?
opera.com - 205,515
dmoz.org - 97,752prweb.com - 198,092
quantcast.com - 115,748
tinyurl.com - 443,540
jquery.com - 57,886
URL: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/domains?site=www.verypdf.com%2F
Thanks,
Brad

Thanks for all of the responses!

As Mike D and Mike G said, they basically tell you how important domains are the domains (in terms of number of backlinks). It helps you guage and measure their strength in your head.
-
Those numbers represent the, "Number of unique root domains (e.g. *.example.com) containing at least one linking page to this URL."
It is saying the number of domains that are linking to those urls. Since PRWEB.com is HUGE, a lot of websites are linking to it.
Makes sense?
Mike

It means that each one of those domains have that many root domains linking to them.
Opera.com has 205,515 root domains linking to them.
Does that make sense?

Has anyone else experience their Domain Authority Drop in the last 2 weeks to their sites
Has anyone else experienced their Domain Authority Score Drop in the last 2 weeks. I have 6 sites and all of their DA dropped between 2-4 points. At the beginning I thought it was just my Wordpress sites, but it happened to all my sites. If anyone has any answers, please enlighten me. Is it Google? Last time this happened was in March 2013 and raised all the scores back up and now as of lately, they all have dropped. Kin Regards, David

There are great tools like http://www.opensiteexplorer.org that will tell you all about the inbound links. What about the more basic and easier question: What outgoing links does this site have?

Site Ranking Report
Hi guys, My site ranking report says that I've gone from being 1-20 for a variety of keywords in Google UK to not in the top 50. When I do a search myself I see that my site remains where it previously was (between 1-20). How reliable is the site ranking reporting on a weekly basis? Is it best to look at it monthly?

Strange Links in OSE
Hey seomozers, The most recent Linkscape update has created some strange links to our domain. They are links which when I navigate to are download links, here is one example: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.9/updates/x86_64/headers/kernel-largesmp-0-2.6.9-89.0.25.EL.x86_64.hdr Now this links has nothing to do with our site and I can't see how it would count as a link to our domain, can anyone shed some light on why these types of links are being crawled as a link to our domain? Thanks Nigel
