Is my authorship working?
-
I am not certain if my authorship is working or not. If I go into google incognito, and search for my exact title of a new article, or any of them that are over a week old, then I will see my image and 'by My Name' which tells me its working.
When I go to structured data testing tool and I enter the URL, I will get:
Authorship Testing Result****Page does not contain authorship markupNow on my webpage NEWS section, it has a 'by My Name' at the top, and if the user clicks it it will bring me to my G+ account. When you go further into an actual article that link no longer works.http://bit.ly/14k8Zys you can see here.So is my authorship working or not? Seems to me it is or I wouldnt find myself when using chrome incognito, but I find it wierd that googles tool is telling me authorship is not working

Hi Demetrios,
I'm not sure if this has been answered as it is coming up unanswered; however, I just tested it and it appears to be working correctly for the /news/ page (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.studentdebtrelief.us%2Fnews%2F); however, the author tag is not on your main domain. If you add it to your main domain as well, I believe it will resolve all of your problems.
Thanks,

Thanks didnt know that existed in WMT. Yea I do have authorship on all my articles, thanks!

Demetrios, on the newspage i see the link: demotrios soumaidis on google+. As you said this link works fine.
When i go to an article on the website i see the following: Posted on June 5, 2013 by Demetrios Sourmaidis • 0 CommentsYour name here doesn't have rel=author. It does have class=author though.
If you add the rel=author tag here all should be fine.Hope i answered your question

Hi Demetrios,
First you are using this structure: <a rel="<a class="attribute-value">author</a>" href="https://plus.google.com/111273018705499833271">Demetrios Sourmaidis on Google+a>, while it should be <a rel="<a class="attribute-value">author</a>" href="https://plus.google.com/111273018705499833271?rel=author">Demetrios Sourmaidis on Google+a>
Have you verified the page in your G+ profile? You should link to the site where your posts are and a link to your G+ profile should be there.
Anyway, if your picture, and data is showing up in the snippet while you search, it means it is working. Try using GWT and under Labs you can find "Author Stats" that will show you the pages that are being recognized as your creations and some traffic data.
You can find more info on the link structure I mentioned here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986
Hope that helps!

I understand Authorship is Dead, but here's a question on the Google+ Profile
I guest write for some blogs, as well as several blogs I manage myself. What is the correct usage of the "Contributor to" field and the "Links" field? Contributor to: The overall blog itself and; Links: To individual blog posts themselves? Or the reverse? Thank you!

'Google+ gmail bias' as explained by Rand doesn't seem to work
One of the reasons we are using Google+ is the email via gmail bias. Rand says the following about this mechanism: Gmail is another way to get this same sort of bias. You can see it in there if you're logged into your Gmail account, and you can see "Hey, I'm not following this person on Google+. Oh, we've exchanged emails, so they're showing me these results higher that they've +1'd." We just started using Google+ and are determining which email address to use for this functionality to work. Of course we need to use the email address which we use for customer contact, but it's not very obvious which one that is from a Google+ bias point of view: We are using Google Apps for email hosting. We log in with our '[email protected]' email address, which no customer of ours will ever know about. And we send emails with this backoffice account on behalf of our [email protected] email address, which is the email address we use for all our customer contact. Both of these email addresses are 'users' of this same Google Apps account. Emails sent to [email protected] also appear in [email protected]. So we actually never login to [email protected], everything is being done in [email protected]. But for the outside world (our customers) it's all about [email protected]. Which account should we use for making our company Google+ Page? The 'backoffice' one, or [email protected]? I have been testing to find out which account offers the bias, but neither of them showed any sign of this. I hope somebody can help me out here. Wouter Olthof

Why isn't open graph working for this URL?
When I post this URL (http://goo.gl/iDMsJq) to my Facebook page, the image is small, and it isn't pulling the correct description. I checked FB object debugger, and it looks fine - so why isn't it working properly when I post to Facebook? https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.healthline.com%2Fhealth-slideshow%2Fquit-smoking-timeline

G+ profile Authorship
We have list of many Authors with their G+ profiles contributing stories for the website. And marked as rel=author for stories generated by them. Though we have few stories where we take multiple author's inputs and mark it into Team profile as an Author. My basic concern over this is, if i mark my story with authorship as team profile i.e. my website's G+ profile as an Author, would that be considered similar to a person's profile author. Example : https://plus.google.com/+cardekho - Our G+ profile marked as Author "CarDekho Team" in our stories. Queries : Does this company page get considered as author? Would this company profile marked as rel=author help in any ranking benefit as an individual Author profile helps in search results?

Should you have both google authorship & publisher set up on a website?
I have read that its a good idea to have both rel=author & rel= publisher set up on a website If so What is the best way to set it up to where rel=author and rel=publisher appear in your website source code? I use wordpress genesis site and have the Yoast seo plugin **In the user profile section on WP there is an area to enter google Authorship link **In the Yoast dashboard there is a place to enter google publisher link. When I check my source code…….I see rel=publisher only on the home page, however ALL my other WordPress Pages and Posts have rel=author. Does that sound correct?

Google Authorship
Hey Guys, I'm trying to setup an Authorship profile for a client of mine and I am not sure if I have done it correctly. Here is what I did: I put my clients blog in the 'Contributor To' section on Google + (https://plus.google.com/u/0/116742052385950982723/about) I confirmed my email address on Google + I put the Google + profile link at the end of each article I put the Google + profile link in my user account inside of WordPress One thing im not too sure about is that there is a link to my clients Google + Page (Not Profile) in the footer, will this prevent authorship? Have I missed anything? Thanks!
