This page has dropped could really do with some advice please
-
Hi Everyone,
Quite a few pages on this site have dropped since the penguin 2.0 update. Unfortunately the backlinks seo has been done by a third party and I think the pages in question are sufferering from anchor text over optimisation but could really do with some opinions on this.I had quite a few backlinks from my own site to this site so i have removed them and I have also had a look at a directory site that was showing up and have requested removal.
Is there anything else that is affecting this page - I have tweaked the content today and I get a ranking of A on the on page optimiser.

Any help would be so much appreciated!

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the advice on this. I will find out where this came from. No warnings in google webmaster tools and the site is showing up as healthy but this site has taken a serious knock and drop of traffic since the 23rd May.Thanks for the advice Andrew much appreciated.

Hi Tracy,
Looking at sites linking to that page it looks like there's sites such as http://pavementsigns.bravesites.com/ which may have previously been helping you out, but now may be detrimental. That 'bravesites' site in particular has lots of spammy sites linking to it.
Those sites/pages look as if they're created with the sole purpose of making a link back to your main website and so I would consider this to be spammy behaviour, Google likely does too. I think you've gotten yourself into a 'bad neighbourhood'.
Take a look into Google Webmaster Tools to see if Google's warning you about anything here. It may be wise to shut down those pages if you have direct control of them, or disavowing the links if you can't directly influence it.
Also consider whether your competitors are starting to do better SEO recently. This may not actually be a technical issue, but more of a "other people are beating you at the game" kind of thing.
I hope that's food for thought!

Keyword ranking for different page than the page optimized
I have optimized "equipment trailer for rent" on this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-deckover. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why Google has chosen to rank the keyword phrase for this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-24 This is just one example. It has happened on several of my pages / keywords.

XML Sitemap After On Page Changes
Hi everyone, could anyone please help me understand what to do next with the xml sitemap after making on page changes? For example, a website has an already existing xml sitemap and it's submitted to Google search console. We make changes to the website - URL structure, content, added new pages, 301 redirected broken links etc. for optimisation. Is there anything that we should do to change/update their current xml sitemap? Does it automatically update itself? Do we have to resubmit their xml sitemap to search console? Thanks!

Should I optimize my home-page or a sub-page for my most important keyword
Quick question: When choosing the most important keyword set that I would like to rank for, would I be better off optimizing my homepage, or a sub page for this keyword. My thinking goes as follows: The homepage (IE www.mysite.com) naturally has more backlinks and thus a better Google Page Rank. However, there are certain things I could do to a subpage (IE www.mysite.com/green-widgets-los-angeles ) that I wouldn't want to do to the homepage, which might be more "optimal" overall. Option C, I suppose, would be to optimize both the homepage, and a single sub-page, which is seeming like a pretty good solution, but I have been told that having multiple pages optimized for the same keywords might "confuse" search engines. Would love any insight on this!

Strange URL resulting a page
Hi, my friend has asked me to take a look at his site. I only know the basics of SEO so I'm learning along the way. He has some duplicate title errors showing in Moz, resulting to this page: https://www.domainname.com/about/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers/money-transfers This URL shows the 'About' page. I have tonnes of pages like this showing with really long URLs that result an actual page. Has anyone seen something like this before? I don't have a clue how this is showing the about page Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks James

On Page Optimization, F on all keywords?
On our website we have all F's even though we have the targeted keyword in the title, url, meta desc, h1, body and some of the img alt's. They still show zero uses of the keyword. Are we missing something here or is this some kind of bug or glitch? Any help or advice is appreciated, Thanks. Google Drop
I started using SEOMOZ due to a sudden and huge drop in Google for two main keywords (hair bows and baby headbands). Our site (BloomingBows.com) has held a top three spot for years with these words and then in the last few months has dropped down on the first page and now they are completely off the charts. Is there any insight as to why? Also, we have been very active using the data from here in the last week or so to clean up and improve anything listed, but I am still seeing keywords drop into the 40 - 60 position and our traffic is drying up. Starting to panic and wondering if I am missing something or going about this in the wrong way. ANY insight is appreciated at this point!! Thank you!!

Changing the page a term ranks for
Hi all, I hope you can help advise me of the best way to change the page that is ranking for a particular keyword/term. Is it just a case of on-page optimizing the term/keyword on the new-page and getting good links/traffic to that page and leaving the old one as it is, or is some sort of "de-optimization" of the old page a something that could help? Thanks.
