Rel Canonical and Moz Crawl
-
we have Rel Canonical tags set up on a few pages. When viewing the page source, the tags are correct. However, Moz Crawl results show the opposite.
for example the page source, correctly shows, URL X with a Rel canonical Tag of URL Y
but.. Moz crawl is showing URL Y with a Rel Canonical Tag of URL X ..any thoughts why this would happen? which should i trust more? -
Sara, if you're 301ing a page that also includes a rel=canonical directive, the rel=canonical will not be seen because the server redirects the user before they get to the page. If the pages are identical, you can rel=canonical one to the other and both URL will be available to the user. A 301 will prevent a user from landing on that page.
-
looks like after today's crawl, moz is correct. (the tags were wrong on site, and we fixed it.. but it didn't show up correct in the test crawls we did earlier this week).
-
we're actually 301 redirecting the page as well. should we remove the rel canonical?
It's a product id url (open cart default) vs a keyword optimized url
We don't want the product id url showing up on search results, as the content of the page doesn't mirror the Keyword optimized url - (Shopping cart is missing, image is missing. basically it's just text)
-
Lets not be hypothetical. If the exact url is shared, may be you will get a concrete and exact reply !!
-
Assuming you are absolutely sure your page has been set up correctly, you should trust that data source more. How is Google showing up the pages when you're performing a 'site:www.yoursitename.com' search?

Idea for new feature on Moz Q&A
Hi Moz Can we please have a new feature to moz when answering questions please, the ability to save as a draft. I am currently on the train from London back home and I was trying to answer a few questions and give my opinion and after writing a really long and detailed response to an area I actually have quite a lot to say on, my internet froze and the page refreshed losing all the content. It doesn’t help that my Mac I am working on isn’t the fastest, but my new one isn’t quite ready yet. But if there was a simple save draft feature, it would be really great as I wasn’t ready to post my answer as it wasn’t finished and without checking wouldn’t have made sense. Yes I know I could of done it in word and pasted it across, but usually when I am travelling and answering questions I do it on my Ipad which isn’t great for multitasking. While I understand you don’t want lots of ‘draft answers’ all over the place as this would take storage space up on your servers and doesn’t actually help the person answering the question, your system could purge all draft answers which have not been edited in the last 24 hours. Just a little suggestion to help make this great forum even better. Thanks Andy

Are MOZ Analytics dashboards available for other timeframes than the week just gone?
Hi Guys, We're wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to get moz analytics dashboard reports for timeframes other than just the last week? When we view the dashboard report, under the heading there is a 'timeframe' dropdown, however it only ever shows us the previous week as an option. Would be great if anyone knows if this is available now / soon? Cheers, Camille@Trilogy

Moz showing warnings for each dynamic link despite canonicalization?
As you can see in the attached image, Moz is showing a warning for each dynamic URL despite a rel=canonical tag. Is this by design? If so, it is frustrating seeing as it is really just the one page with many links . . . 9h5oDmr.png

Does Moz Pro generate similar keyword phrases in a list (preferably showing their difficulty %) or is it only one phrase at a time with no similar words/phrases suggested?
I just signed up for Moz Pro but the keyword research seems to only let you try one keyword phrase at a time. Is there a way for it to give related keywords along with their difficulty % info, etc. It is far too slow and inconvenient doing one at a time.
