Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools Setup for Agencies

Hi,
As agencies, what are people finding to be the best practices for allowing multiple members of the agency's team to access client WMT and GA data?

Have a generic "[email protected]" account that's used for the shares, that anyone in the agency can use as needed (limited, of course, not admin).

Have the individual person at the company use their company email for the share for each particular client? [email protected]. Yet what happens when we need someone else to check the GA or WMT data?
Any advice is much appreciated.

I guess we do own since we set it up and maintain control if the client leaves. The any employee working on the account will access WMT, analytics or any other account we create the client through this gmail account.
I feel if it is something the client sets up for us they can randomly change the pw or manage to mess something up with them having open access. Client's sometimes do more harm than good if they think they know what they are doing.

But do YOU own the [email protected] email? Or does the client?
And how do your employees access the GA and WMT data from the client? Via this account, or do you now share the "[email protected]" data with an "[email protected]" account so that your employees can use the data?
I already have my clients create their own "[email protected]" account for this purpose -with the understanding that there will be lots of hands in this cookie jar (so don't use it for personal stuff -- only Google-related items).

I do [email protected] and house all my items under that account then link the other accounts to that. Great thing about this is when / if the client leaves I just hand over the account to them.

To clarify ---
So if the client is "Titan Corp." you'd make a [email protected] and then use that? Do you do that in your google apps account?
The problem I currently have is that the email that I have some clients linked to is: [email protected]. I like it becauseI have analytics all under one hood, as well as the GWT data. But now that I want to share that access with someone, I don't want them to have access to the entire "[email protected]" account because there is AdWords, YT, etc. data attached to that.
Or if I did keep the [email protected] as I believe Drew is suggesting, what do I do about an audit trail? (Of course, if you don't trust the employee why are you giving them access? -- But I like the "trust but verify" philosophy")

We typically create a master email account (usually in gmail), which is really helpful for things like Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics, but it's also helpful to use that to link up to Adwords when necessary. Individual employee email accounts are good too, but it's also good to have that backup. We will also use the master email when it comes to doing some basic link building such as grabbing a few high-end directories that tend to over-promote. Ideally though, anyone who needs access should be given so via their own email account so they can be held accountable. More than this it saves time when accessing accounts.
It should also be known that Google Analytics has a limit of 25 on the number of accounts one email can create.

We create a master account email for that client and then share out to other from there.
Feel that works best so everyone has their own login and no one can blame anyone for changing a password or hijacking an account.

Moving to https - Webmaster Tools
Okay so I've moved a site I work on to https finally... wasn't easy, but I won't go into the whys and hows of that. Everything is working fine on the site and my rankings are holding steady but when I went into the GWT today I noticed that my main site (www.domain.com) has lost inquiry and traffic data almost entirely. So I quickly added and verified the https://www.domain.com URL (even though it doesn't ask for the protocol when adding a site) and saw the traffic.. kind of. Only 2 inquiries and a few pages indexed. Now I realize I need to submit a new sitemap and am currently working on that but don't know which account to upload it to. Do I really need two GWT sites separately and why is the other one still getting the impressions and clicks? Basically I'm looking for somebody to shed some light on how to handle this migration from a GWT standpoint. I've attached 3 screenshots to illustrate what I'm talking about. Should be obvious what's what to those who read this post. The Analytics shot is to show that I haven't actually lost traffic in this time and eliminate the fear of penalty or anything of the sort. How to Setup New Domain in Webmaster Tools? Can Anybody HELP?
I, I have a new domain, and a new account is now created in webmatser tools. Is there anythings I should know about using or setting up webmaster tools? For example, the geographic target, I'm in Canada our web site, a local Pilates studio, is a commercial web site to provides informations about our services. Should I select Canada? One thing about this, I have another domain, http://www.furnacefilterscanada.com/ and in the setiing, I have select geographic target to: Canada. When using google.ca result are better then when using google.com! I think must Canadian user are using google.com Does this ''Geographic Target'' setting has anythings to do with search results in Goolge.ca versus Google.com? Thank you for your help, BigBlaze

Google Analytics Customer filters & the correct syntax
Good afternoon from torential rain and thunder Wetherby UK 😞 Ive been delving into the world of custom filters in Google analytics and Ive hit a problem. Apart from Googles advice being out of date (wont get into that one) I wanted to set up clone a profile of an existing site and set up a filter that would exclde USA traffic. But a country can be called many things e.g. United Sates USA America so how do you know what is the correct name to put in the filter pattern box? Here is a screen shot of my efforts :http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/filter-toexclude-usatrafficcopy.jpg (I chaned it to United States) So my question is where is there a list of the correct syntax for the filter pattern box? Google analytics reality check?
Looking back over a 9 month period tracking analytics with getclicky my site showed a 29% bounce rate, with only about 1/4 of visitors spending 1 minute or less on my site. I've recently implemented GA (removed old clicky code) and although traffic is strong, my site now shows a bounce rate of about 82%. Engagement stats also show that 82% of visitors spend between 0-10 seconds on my site. My site is built on Wordpress and the GA tracking code wasn't placed directly in the footer, my developer built a field in the admin area to insert the UA number which automatically adds the code to all pages. I've checked the code and the tracking seems to appear on all pages. I took a look at AW Stats. It corroborates GA and says that 80% of visitors are spending 0-30 seconds on the site. Potential issues/clues: browser tests show small loading problems in Internet Explorer 7,8,9 (the phone number at the top of the header loads on the wrong side of the page) and major issues in Internet Explorer 6 (site doesn't load at all in IE 6). The thing is no one who uses IE 6 is coming to the site. Second, the site gets a grade of C in YSlow, it's not lightning fast at the moment. GA is showing average page load of 2.4 seconds, but don't think either of these issues should cause an 82% 0-10 seconds engagement number. My site is content rich/focused with very minimal advertising. Content is accessible well above the fold. My question: Does the fact that AW Stats and GA agree mean that those numbers are accurate, or is there a bug I should be looking for? How to explain the clicky numbers?

Get Stats on Search Box Usage, Using Google Analytics?
Let me preface this by first saying I am NOT using the Google Adsense Search feature. The question I am asking is pertaining to the standard search box that comes already coded in most .php blogs. In the Google Analytics, is there a way to tell how many people are searching using the search box? I've looked through the navigation and pathway options in analytics and I don't seem to see anything that definitively points to the number of people using the search box but, perhaps, I am overlooking it. Any insight?
