Hi team moz.
Do you can put subtitles to videos in my case the Spanish?
-
Hi on this lesson:
http://moz.com/academy/elements-of-links, you can also give a link a title attribute. In my humble opinion that was missed in that lesson but is important for usability and SEO. -
Absolutely, loving the content, my one request....might be worth date stamping the content...i.e. "this information is correct as of 14/07/2013"
As we all know algorithms update and best practice changes....might help users determine the freshness of the content.

Tiny typo in the last paragraph at http://moz.com/academy/what-to-share-on-social-networks
"Remember to always revisit the fundament questions"

Awesome! I actually just spoke with our local expert David Mihm and we have around 9 lessons planned around local. We hope to have them all ready to go around the end of October!
-
First of all, thanks for the awesome videos.
I live in kind of a small town and work with a lot of local brick and mortar businesses. I could really benefit from some videos on local SEO and local inbound marketing.
Thanks,
Scott

We have plans for both!
-
Good ideas. I will talk to Rand about using specific case studies. I know he likes to talk about other what other companies are doing, but maybe we can pinpoint it a little more.
-
Love all the ideas here Gagan!
I like all the topics you cover here. #5 = That's a lot of visits to generate a year, but I think we can manage something about driving up traffic.
-
I will put that in the feature pipeline! Thanks.
-
Hey!
Are you talking about the 2nd video on the Inbound section? This one: http://moz.com/academy/marketing-funnel
Thanks for the help!
-
Your are missing content from the 3rd point in the 2nd video.
-
+1 for download videos!
-
Thank You.

Thanks Nick,
Back in June, Rand did a post on Generosity and Entitlement. These type of posts I find enjoyable on a couple of levels: they are not the same "How to link, etc." posts that we all see, and they are about the heart of business...The people in the business. They are about how do we develop conflict and how do we resolve conflict. They are about are we just in it to make money or can there actually be something greater? So, Keep up the good work for all of you at Moz. Frankly, it's my third home.
-
Thank you for writing this Robert!
I couldn't agree with you more! Building your culture is foundational. Before doing the work, it's important to talk about how to do the work. And the how is all about culture. Are we collaborative? Transparent? Focused on solutions? Okay with failure? Willing to take risks? What's the most important thing to us? How do we want to give and take feedback? What should we do when we disagree about something important? and on and on...
-
Whoa! Excellent suggestion. I love the idea of adding a section about building a great company and I know Rand is extremely passionate + knowledgable about the topic. I will put something in the queue for that type curriculum and send out an internal email to get some ideas around it. Many thanks for the awesome and well thought out suggestion.

Hello Nick,
In looking over what you have now it is a nice mix and obviously some great topics. One of the issues many seem to miss is the actual business of Inbound Marketing, Earned Marketing (thanks Rand), SEO, or marketing in general. Many of those who come to Moz are starting out as "freelance SEO's" and wanting to build a business around their profession or trying to establish a lifestyle business for themselves. Some already have agencies and are wanting to grow. And, others are working for someone and still can use some of the entrepreneurial knowledge.
Many seem to know a bit about SEO and, minimally, where to go for the data, but have little understanding of the business of marketing: Do's and Don't to customer acquisition, How to prospect, what are the best mechanisms to "get the word out" about your services? Or, How do I charge for this or that? What are the pitfalls I need to be aware of? What kind of contract should I have? Who do I hire first? How do I hire? How did Moz (or other companies) create the culture that they have? etc.
The last one is very important in my opinion. You guys say a lot about the story of Moz and TAGFEE and that is good. But some may not realize that it takes work to create a culture and it takes a set of beliefs at the top that are unshakable. IMO, if you are to truly build a great company, you have to go far beyond "Core Values" and "Mission Statements:" You have to go to living what you say you believe. Moz has proven many times that Transparency is important (think bandwidth arbitrage-that one blew me away and I still tell people about the way you guys just said, "This is what happened.") The same is true for the rest of TAGFEE. But, it did not happen because someone thought it was cool and then sprinkled unicorn dust everywhere. So, Culture Acquisition is something you can teach.
I know because over the last few years I borrowed a bit from you guys. I walk into an office that I love to be in with people I love to work with. It did not get this way overnight nor by accident. It was deliberate, others had buy in, and it has taken and is still taking time. But, that culture is what prospective clients see when they sit in our offices. That culture is what brings people asking if we are hiring. That culture is what has interns showing up, working, and looking forward to coming to work here when school is out for them. If you can teach people the importance of a quality culture and how to achieve it, they will be flocking to your doors.
I look forward to seeing the end result.
Best,
Robert Fisher

Hi Nick,
My compliments for the excellent video - quality and stuff out there from Mr. Rand
a) Is it possible to download videos and store it so as to view it as per convenience.
b) Some of the topics to my view will add value, if covered are:-
-
Reputation Management,
-
Brand Building for Small to Medium Sites,
-
Competition Management through Search Engines,
-
Tips for Level 2 Sites who are through with Beginner SEO - Onpage & Offpage to double up traffic -
-
A live case study for sites on how they doubled up visitors from 1 Lakh to 2 Lakh or say 5 Lakh to 10 Lakh in a year
-
-
I absolutely agree with Nick on the case studies, this is for me most relevant as it gives better insights in how other people are using certain tools and creating a strategy around it then straight forward following marketing books.
I'd also would like to see some more videos on technical SEO and dealing with really big sites.
Looking forward to more videos!

+1 for Mobil and Video Marketing related topics!
-
Hi Nick,
This is a fantastic resource that we can share internally with our team members. My feedback below:
- More case studies will be awesome. Showcasing real time examples to drive home the concepts would be really helpful
- More discussion on the effectiveness and usage of analytics in marketing campaigns would be very helpful
- Topics like mobile and video marketing would also be very helpful
Cant wait to see more content in the academy. Great initiative. Just this resource in itself is worth the pro membership fee.
Cheers,
SEO5..

Woops! Thanks. Should be all fixed up.

What all other SEO tool (along with Moz) are you using at your company / SEO Agency / Marketing Agency?
Hello Folks. Let me put it this way. Moz is great. especially, this community of like minded people. But, when it comes to Moz tool's features- it has its own Pros and Cons. And, that's what force us to add other tools to our tool kit. So, just wanted to know what all other SEO tools you use and why??? Let me start this by answering this question: I use SERPed.net as my other SEO tools suite. And the reasons are: It offers 40+ SEO tools ( Few are similar to the ones that I get with Moz, but the other ones that I don't get in Moz are real good. For ex: **Site Auditor Pro, Mobile **Prospector) Along with showing data for their metrics and algos, they pull data from- SEMrush and Majestic SEO. So, I don't need to have subscription of these 2 tools and still I get the data from them. A big money saver 🙂 Let's start this interesting thread 🙂

How you can manipulate your MOZ DA
I have become frustrated at MOZ in the last few months, none of my backlinks have made it into the index. Old back links. Long story short, I figured out the issue and I figured out how anyone can manipulate their DA. I wrote a blog post about it here, http://blog.dh42.com/manipulate-moz/

Best Way to Seemlessly Use Moz and Google Analytics
Hi All, I have Moz Pro and I am beginning to explore Moz Analytics. I currently use Google Analytics for pretty much everything and I am almost at expert level at using the GA interface so I'm ready to learn a new tool and have a second source of data! My question is: what's the best way to get the most of Moz Analytics and GA congruently? Off hand I know that Moz's keyword, rank, and link data, including competitive insights, is more comprehensive than GA. But how else can I use Moz and get the most out of the Moz Analytics? Looking to really dive in and discuss how we can make use of both! Thanks - Vee

Question for Moz developers - Highcharts?
So, I see that Moz is using Highcharts as it's charting display engine. What made you decide to use them instead of some of the other solutions out there, like FusionCharts or Google Charts, even creating your own home-made creation?
Moz Pro | | MrSchadow
Our company is starting over from scratch with reports/charts and are looking at other solutions than what we currently are using (fusioncharts/fusion widgets). And I wanted to get feedback on why you chose this route over any other. Thanks!!0 -
The pages that add robots as noindex will Crawl and marked as duplicate page content on seo moz ?
When we marked a page as noindex with robots like {<meta name="<a class="attribute-value">robots</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">noindex</a>" />} will crawl and marked as duplicate page content(Its already a duplicate page content within the site. ie, Two links pointing to the same page). So we are mentioning both the links no need to index on SE.But after we made this and crawl reports have no change like it tooks the duplicate with noindex marked pages too. Please help to solve this problem.

Seo moz has only crawled 2 pages of my site. Ive been notified of a 403 error and need an answer as to why my pages are not being crawled?
SEO Moz has only crawled 2 pages of my clients site. I have noticed the following. A 403 error message screaming frog also cannot crawl the site but IIS can. Due to the lack of crawling ability, im getting no feed back on my on page optimization rankings or crawl diagnostics summary, so my competitive analysis and optimization is suffering Anybody have any idea as to what needs to be done to rectify this issue as access to the coding or cms platform is out of my hands. Thank you

Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).
Moz Pro | | RobertFisher
Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last.
