Should I merge these pages
-
I have this business and am not sure if I should have a separate page for all of the different roofing subservices or if i should put them all on one page.
Even though they are separate, but related services, I feel they could end up competing against one another
If I merge them I will also have more related and keyword rich content on one page that I could focus my efforts on.

Hi Noah,
i would agree with all the above, and suggest that so long as there is enough content for each different element of the roofing service you provide, it would be a good idea to give them their own page.
Just to further clarify Alex's point of categorisation. If you create a hub page that discusses roofing, you can create sub-pages for each element to it. To use an example:
Using this structure, the /roofing page would act as a hub page to all of the content by containing an introduction to all of the sub-pages, becoming your landing page.
The only other advice I would offer would depend on whether your business offers anything other than roofing services. If roofing is your sole area of operation then your homepage should act as the hub as described above as follows:
The architecture section in the following article explains the idea of a hub page really well:
Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Individual content rich pages.
-
Noah,
Building on what Alex offers, the key is to determine whether you can come up with enough unique content to justify individual pages. I clicked through to the site and there's almost no crawlable descriptive paragraph based text on any of the services pages I checked.
These are considered to be very thin on content from a "does this individual page deserve high ranking" perspective. While there is no set individual numeric value for total volume of unique content on a page across the entire web, a general rule of thumb many in our industry work with is 400 to 800 words of unique content.
That's going to vary based on all the other factors that go into SEO, and this includes how much content leading competitors have as just one of those considerations.
-
It's more work but the most beneficial way to take advantage of all this content would be to create a generic page with summaries of the services like a category for services, then create individual pages for each server detailing information on it. Possibly even cost or more info. From there make sure the individual page leads you back to overall services, and link to other related services from that page so the user can navigate easily.
Making it easy for the user to navigate will also make it easy for the crawler to navigate.

Why is my home page ranking much higher than my collection page?
Hi everyone, Why is my client's home page ranking high for a certain keyword phrase rather than a collection page I have which is well optimised for this keyword? The collection page is on the 10th SERPs page. I did see there were keywords used in the footer of page and the keyword was also used in some intro text on the home page so I removed the keyword from these two places nearly 2 weeks ago and requested google to reindex both the collection page and home page and I've not seen any improvement of the collection page's ranking in SERPs. I also changed the meta description and meta title as the ctr was poor but there wasn''t that many impressions either. It is a competitive keyword organically so maybe the collection page's authority is just not good enough compared to the competitors hence why they are choosing the home page as it has higher page authority however this still is not helpful to searchers who land on home page. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I can do to get google to rank the ocllection page higher for the keyword instead of home page?

Why Would My Page Have a Higher PA and DA, Links & On-Page Grade & Still Not Rank?
The Search Term is "Alcohol Ink" and our client has a better page authority, domain authority, links to the page, and on-page grade than those in the SERP for spaces 5-10 and we're not even ranked in the top 51+ according to Moz's tracker. The only difference I can see is that our URL doesn't use the exact text like some of the 5-10 do. However, regardless of this, our on-page grade is significantly higher than the rest of them. The one thing I found was that there were two links to the page (that we never asked for) that had a spam score in the low 20's and another in the low 30's. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to maybe get around this? Certainly, a content campaign and linking campaign around this could also help but I'm kind of scratching my head. The client is reputable, with a solid domain age and well recognized in the space so it's not like it's a noob trying to get in out of nowhere.

Base copy on 1 page, then adding a bit more for another page - potential duplicate content. What to do?
Hi all, We're creating a section for a client that is based on road trips - for example, New York to Toronto. We have a 3 day trip, a 5 day trip, a 7 day trip and a 10 day trip. The 3 day trip is the base, and then for the 5 day trip, we add another couple of stops, for the 7 day trip, we add a couple more stops and then for the 10 day trip, there might be two or three times the number of stops of the initial 3 day trip. However, the base content is similar - you start at New York, you finish in Toronto, you likely go through Niagara on all trips. It's not exact duplicate content, but it's similar content. I'm not sure how to look after it? The thoughts we have are:1) Use canonical tags 3,5,7 day trips to the 10 day trip.

2) It's not exactly duplicate content, so just go with the content as it is We don't want to get hit by any penalty for duplicate content so just want to work out what you guys think is the best way to go about this. Thanks in advance!0 -
Penalized for Duplicate Page Content?
I have some high priority notices regarding duplicate page content on my website www.3000doorhangers.com Most of the pages listed here are on our sample pages: http://www.3000doorhangers.com/home/door-hanger-pricing/door-hanger-design-samples/ On the left side of our page you can go through the different categories. Most of the category pages have similar text. We mainly just changed the industry on each page. Is this something that google would penalize us for? Should I go through all the pages and use completely unique text for each page? Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks! Andrea

Product pages content
Hi! I'm doing some SEO work for a new client. I've been tasked with boosting some of their products, such as http://www.lawnmowersdirect.co.uk/product/self-propelled-rear-roller-rotary-petrol-lawnmowers/honda-hrx426qx. It's currently #48 for the term Honda Izy HRG465SD, while http://www.justlawnmowers.co.uk/lawnmowers/honda-izy-hrg-465-sd.htm is #2, behind Amazon. Regarding links, there's no great shakes between the pages or even the domains. However, there's major difference in content. I'm happy to completely revamp it, I just wanted to check I'm not missing anything out before starting to rewrite it altogether! Thanks

Where is the best place for Landing Pages to reside on the Home Page?
On this site http://www.austintenantadvisors.com/ I have my main landing pages listed in the navigation under "Types". The reason why I did this is because I am not sure where to insert those on the home page where it does not look spammy to Google and looks natural for users. Obviously they need to appear somewhere on the home page for Google to be able to continue crawling and indexing them. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
