How to fix this issue?
-
I redesign my website from Wix to HTML.
Now URLs changed to _
http://www.spinteedubai.com/#!how-it-works/c46c
To
http://www.spinteedubai.com/how-it-works.html
Same for all other pages. How I can fix this issue and both pages were also indexed in google.

Hi Alexander,
While there are some server-side technical things you can do to force a 404 error for a given URL, the best thing to do is remove the content in question from your server. At the very least this should achieve getting a 404 status code when you attempt to visit the URL that once housed the content. Ideally, if you can configure a custom 404 page that is more user-friendly, that's even better.
Now, depending on how your server is configured, there may be instances when a URL should produce a 404 error, but doesn't. I only bring this scenario up as a possibility because it's something I am currently dealing with on one of the sites I manage.
In any case, you may need to work closely with your server administrator or Web developer to achieve what you need. Most likely, it's just a matter of removing the old content from the server. Hope that helps!

How can I add 404 error? What are the steps?
-
Hi Alexander,
It looks like you've implemented the canonical tags properly. It can, however, take Google a very, very long time (sometimes years) to remove old content. If you really want the old page/URL out of Google's index, the very best and quickest way to achieve that is to make sure that the old page produces a proper 404 status code then use GWT's Remove URL tool to request Google to remove it from their index. This still isn't immediate, but I've seen URLs removed in as little as a week using this method. Hope that helps!

Hi Alexander,
You can either 301 the old page http://www.spinteedubai.com/#!how-it-works/c46c into the new page http://www.spinteedubai.com/how-it-works.html
or you can set up rel=canonical tag if its the same content and you want the keep the URL.
You would then have to either wait or use this to remove the URL - https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

A/B testing entire website VS Seo issues
I'm familar with A/B testing variations of a page but I'd like to A/B test a new designs version of a e-commerce site. I´m wondering about the best way to test with SEO concerns... this is what I´ve in mind right now, any suggestion? Use parameters to make version B different from A version. Redirect 50% of the users with 302 ( or javascript would be a better way?) Use noindex in the B pages. Use rel=canonical in the B pages pointing to A version. In the end use 301 redirect to all B pages to A urls. PS: We can´t use subdomain and i don´t wanna use robots.txt file to protect the new design from competitors. I´d love any suggestions and tips about it - thanks folks 🙂

Duplicate content issues arise 6 months after creation of website?!
Hi, I've had the same website for 6 months and fixed all original on-site issues a long time ago.Now this week I wake up and found 3 new errors: 3 of my pages have missing titles issues, missing meta description issues and also the Moz crawl says they all have duplicate content issues. All my rankings went down a lot as well. This site is static, doesn't even have a blog, everything is rel canonical and non-indexed. It's 100% original content as well. So how can those issues arise 6 months later? All my titles and descriptions are there and non-duplicate, and the content is original and not duplicate as well. Is this a wordpress bug or virus? Anyone had this happen to them and how to fix it? Thanks a lot for you help! -Marc

MSNbot Issues
We found msnbot is doing lots of request at same time to one URL, even considering we have caching, it triggers many requests at same time so caching does not help at the moment: For sure we can use mutex to make sure URL waits for cache to generate, but we are looking for solution for MSN boot. 123.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET //Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" 1.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET //Type-of-Resource/Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" 1.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET /Browse//Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 6708 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" We found the following solution: http://www.bing.com/community/site_blogs/b/webmaster/archive/2009/08/10/crawl-delay-and-the-bing-crawler-msnbot.aspx Bing offers webmasters the ability to slow down the crawl rate to accommodate web server load issues. User-Agent: * Crawl-Delay: 10 Need to know if it’s safe to apply that. OR any other advices. PS: MSNBot gets so bad at times that it could trigger a DOS attack – alone! Fix duplicate content caused by tags
Hi everyone, TGIF. We are getting hundreds of duplicate content errors on our WP site by what appears to be our tags. For each tag and each post we are seeing a duplicate content error. I thought I had this fixed but apparently I do not. We are using the Genesis theme with Yoast's SEO plugin. Does anyone have the solution to what I imagine is this easy fix? Thanks in advance.

Severe Health issue on my site through Webmaster tools
I use Go Daddy Website Tonight. I keep getting a severe health message in Google Webmaster tools stating that my robots.txt file is blocking some important page. When I try to get more details the blocked file will not open. When I asked the Go Daddy peeps they told me that it was just image and backup files that do not need to be crawled. But if Google spiders keep thinking an important page is blocked will this hurt my SERPS?
