Link to social network
-
I have very powerfull social network but i do not link to them from my website to improve page speed and avoid external links on main page.
Althought i do link from my twitter acounts , facebook and google to my site.
Should i link to my twitter or social on main page. I do not want to send people to there. I want to send people from there to my page.

I dont think you would have an issue with page speed, just by adding a few links.
Think about it from a consumer point of view. If your users want to see your social profiles, they will have to search for them manually, which they probably won't, or worse case scenario, they could find a competitors social profile instead. I would add the links or icons towards the bottom of the page, depending upon how your page renders. Once you have added them, minify your CSS and code to decrease page load time.

Ultimately, as Aaron says above, it does depend on what kind of site you are running and how active you are on the networks. However, social media outlets are a great way to enhance communication with your customers! For me, personally, when I am on a new website I look at their linking social media links. I find that I get a better feel for their product and/or services and a better idea of the brand's 'personality', so to speak. ^Caitlin

It really depends what kind of site you are running. If you want them to take an action on the page you are linking to, then perhaps not. If you are a service provider and want them to communicate with you, then yes.
It also depends how active you are on the networks. I agree the goal is to send people to your site, but depending on what your site is/does, you might want to keep them as a long term customer who keeps coming back. Social media can help accomplish that.

Us eof outbound links and referencing sources
Hello everyone, I am writing weekly articles for a website. At times, I am referring to data/statistics from other articles/studies. My question is - how do you include links/references to this material? For example, I notice that some articles cite their sources at the end/bottom. But - some include outbound links to the original source throughout the main content of the article- so that when you click on the link it takes you to the correct web page. So far, I am including a 'Sources' section at the end of my article that includes title, author, date. I am doing this to stop people clicking off my article to check out the link! Do I need a specific sources section if I cite my source as I go along? For example, 'In their 2017 study of life insurance, the Association of British Insurers found that 70% of Brits are without life insurance'. (made up statistic! Different web writers seem to do different things and it's a little confusing!! Sorry if this is rather long -winded! Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks guys, Clare

Best Practice: Should We Always Make No-Follow for External Links from Blogs?
Hi Mozers, I have few questions: 1. If I am allowing advertising on my blog and people advertising by placing Ads, Contextual links in Posts, Should I make them No-Follow? If Yes, then I might lose a good amount of income coming from Advertising. What is the best practice without loosing Organic rankings. 2. If I make all the External Links No-Follow (simple wordpress plugin can do), then I may not have anyone to advertise on my blog. What is the advantage that I am going to get? 3. Keeping the Do-Follow on all external links, how it will effect my blog? when there is no spam and all quality content on the blog. Thank you

Webmaster Tools - How your data is linked?
This may be an easy questions, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere and I never really looked into it before. In google webmaster tools, in the dashboard there is the section that says "How Your Data Is Linked". What does that refer to? Is that just using internal link anchor text, external link anchor text or a combination of both? I am pretty sure that it is a combination of both, but I just want to make sure before making some internal link changes so that the most common anchor text is no longer "Prices" and "Sign up". Thanks.

Too Many On-Page Links
Hi, I did a SEOmoz campaign and got results today, One of the results is Too "Many On-Page Links" when i am drilling down, i see that that's include inside links. for example, i sale food, i have my main department window - inside i have 30 products - each product is linked to a detailed page about the product. so automatically i have 30 links - not including all the others in this page, and i easily get over 100 and even sometimes 200 is this a big issue? does it damages my SEO? If yes, is there a way to write the HTML in a way that internal links like that wont be counted? Thank you SEOWiseUs
