.land extension or .com extension? Please help!
-
hi, its me again.
I bought 2 domains for my new site I want to build. My keyword is: "BabyHazelGames"
babyhazelgames.land ( for me it sounded like "the land of baby hazel" etc )
PlayHazel.com ( short .com domain, still says what the sites about )
If u check first page for this keyword u see most of the sites are EMD-s or filler partial EMD ( on .com-s)Someone told me to buy a EMD since I fight with EMD-s on first page, and its the only way I have a chance!
I bought The games license, theme license and all of these. That was alot of money, and I dont want to put all my money and work on the wrong domain name.
Please help me decide between these 2; Thanks!

Use the .com. People know what it is, and once you have a solid strategy in place, it will do better.
When you try and complicate things for the end user, it just goes downhill. One thing that was always preached to me by my mentors: Optimize and build around the lowest common denominator, without insulting your intelligent users. .land will confuse both.

I personally favor the .com, as it's shorter and makes more sense, and more people are aware of .com domains.
The next thing I would focus on is why should people come to your site as opposed to the dozens of others out there on the web already that offer baby hazel games. What do you offer that they don't have? Think about about your unique selling proposition as you put together your site.

congrats on your .com i wouldnt bother with the .land for now. Anyway let me explain why..
1st of all most people would use .com if they are not familiar with your website and not everyone as of today is familiar with .land TLD. So if i was one of your friend or have heard your site the very first thing i would do if i dont remember your domain is use .com as TLD, yep...
2nd is that i dont think you will be aiming for "the land of baby hazel" as your keyword and if you will i dont think .land would be of any help.
3rd just think of those 2 reasons above, lol but anyway i wanna hear from the PRO's for more elaborate explanation and their own point of view.

By the way, most companies will change your license for you... especially if you bought it in the last 30 days.... send them an email and ask

Hi again
PlayHazel.com get's my vote. It's very brandable, the word 'Play' is already very related to games, it's easy to remember, and it's a .com.
I can't think of a single good thing to say about babyhazelgames.land not to be overly blunt, but that just sounds terrible!
Good luck in whatever you choose

Different meta tags appearing in SERP for same landing page
Hi all, hoping someone can help. We have a landing page that ranks quite well for a number of keywords that send us a nice amount of organic traffic. We understand the importance of Meta tags, as Google will be the users first interaction with our site we want to stand out and be noticed and also show we provide information on their search query. The problem is this, while we have optimised the title and description tags for the landing page, this is only appearing on specific search results. If you were to search a different keyword, you would still get the same landing page, but the title tag and description would not pull through, it decides to pull through the page name and first few lines of text instead. Is there anything we can do to sort this issue?

Youtube Optimization Guide please?
I'm trying to do youtube optimization for some videos right now. I wanted to know what the maximum length of a title should be, and what the maximum description should be as well. Are there any other best practices I should know about? Thanks,

Should I remove our videos from DotSub.com to try & boost our Wistia videos?
Okay all you video SEO lovers, I had a thought today that I thought would make an interesting question. I have been using the tools at DotSub.com to transcribe our videos. The tools are great, and even better, free. We have about 80 videos on DotSub and all of these videos are also on our YouTube channel. Once I've completed the transcription, I've been exporting the .srt file and uploading them to YouTube to replace the God-awful machine transcriptions (sorry Google, but they are baaaadddd). Anyway, sometimes our DotSub video will outrank the same YouTube video, sometimes not. The 80 videos on DotSub have amassed about 10,000 views and a couple of translations...which is nice, I guess? Recently, we've begun experimenting with Wistia. Here is a search term for which our YouTube and DotSub video results pretty much flood page 1: "studiolive webinar" All of the DotSub videos also exist as Wistia videos on our Website and blog. For obvious reasons, we would rather have our Wistia videos rank in those three positions which right now are dominated by the DotSub versions. Should I remove the content from DotSub in order to try to get the Wistia videos to rank instead? Or should I leave them all there? I should probably add that we do have Wistia videos that are outranking both Dotsub and Youtube versions of the exact same videos...so I know that's possible. I'm just wondering if by leaving all of these videos up at DotSub if we are cannibalizing our potential at ranking for videos that link back to our site? What do you think?

.NET VS .COM VS Keyword Density in the URL, What do you suggest?
I am about to launch an eCom project for a new company. The client has three URL's available. I recognize keyword density is slowly becoming less and less of a factor, but still has significant relevance. I haven't had much experience working on .NET URL's and would like to know anything related to the effects of .NET url's vs. .COM url's. Also, just what you would go with and why? Option 1 "EXACTMATCHKEYWORD.net" (17 total characters) Option 2 "MOSTLYMATCHINGKEYWORDcompany.com" (21 total characters, with company) Option 3 "ABEXACTMATCHKEYWORD.com" -AB represents the company's initials/logo. (19 total characters) USEFUL POINTS 1. 95% of purchases will be one time purchases (so I'm not focused as much on company branding as usual). 2. The company name is actually "exact matching keyword Company" 3. We will be targeting 100's of terms, but the "exact match keyword" represents 1/4 of total search volumes and thus is extremely important.

How does link juice work? My site structure is wrong? [HELP PLEASE]
Hi guys, I sell cartridges for printers and i'm struggerling to rank a lot of printers. I've been told it's all about domain authority and it'll pass down to these pages, however I can't see it happening, nor can I wait for it to happen. Should I rethink my categorys? I've got subcategorys in subcategorys in subcategorys - probably not advised because of link juice right? e.g Epson Stylus SX130 Ink would be located below. Epson > Epson Stylus Series>Epson Stylus SX Series>Epson Stylus SX130 Ink

.com or .co.uk
We're lunching a new site and we've managed to secure desired domain name with .com and .co.uk The business in question is UK based and is catering for UK customers. We're not interested in foreign traffic. Should we go with .com or .co.uk? .com sounds much better and I think it will be easier to build a brand using .com

HubPages.com?
Hi All, Does anyone have any info/opinions/scoop on HubPages.com? A client is considering using the service and I don't know much about it. Having a hard time figuring out the SEO value it would provide. It doesn't nofollow the links you create, which is nice, but not sure if the pages you create on this site provide any real link juice. Client isn't interested really in generating revenue, but rather just wants to help increase exposure for his brand. He already has a blog going, so I'm trying to determine if putting in effort to creating articles on this site would be worthwhile, or if we should focus efforts more on other backlink methods, such as guest posting on blogs. Anyone have thoughts?

.us domain extension for US locales
I have a large US travel site and am looking to make targeted pages for specific locations, attractions etc around the United States. With many of the TLD's already purchased for these niches, I thought about using the .us extension as it seemed relevant to the topics. Does this hurt seo possibilities or does the .us extension come across as spammy?
