Google showing sitelinks on wrong spelling of domain
-
Hello,
For some reason, google is giving us sitelinks for for the wrong spelling of our domain. Our site is stackstreet(.com) and our company is named 'StackStreet'.
Instead of showing sitelinks for the search 'StackStreet', google is showing them for 'Stack Street' (with a space).
Any ideas? This spelling does not exist anywhere within our source code.
Thanks!

It seems that its still not showing sitelinks, even though the site gets somewhat significant traffic... I know the timeline for getting sitelinks can vary widely, but the site has been live for almost 6 months and no sitelinks.. is this unusual?

I would say that popularity has a lot to do with it, plus the overall reach of your site. The appearance of sitelinks for the misspelt two-word name variation is a very good sign that the brand is recognised and growing, and that you're on the right track as far as growth goes. I would expect sitelinks to show up for the one-word brand name if you maintain a good, quality level of link development, content promotion, social activity, etc.

Hi,
while the generation of sitelinks is fully automated as of now, I tried to look at the global search volumes for the terms,
stackstreet and stack street using Google keyword planner. It showed that the term, 'stack street' has an avg monthly search volume of 30 while the term, 'stackstreet' has none. Even the Google suggest feature does not show anything while trying to type, stackstreet in the search bar but it does suggest when you try to type, stack street.
Though it may sound weird, you can do as follows:
For 3-4 weeks, ask all your staff, family and friends to type, 'stackstreet' in Google and click on your homepage from the search results. You can ask them to do this few times a day. This will make Google learn about and recognize the search term stackstreet and possibly start showing the sitelinks for it just like it does for, 'stack street'.
Good Luck.
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi

Low Domain Authority
Hi Our Domain Authority has dropped recently from 29 > 23 - which is really low. I wondered if anyone had any ideas of why this might be? http://www.key.co.uk/en/key I'm seeing ranking/traffic improvements for SEO & I'm not currently building any bad backlinks, I did a sweep to Disavow any bad ones last Oct. I am planning to add good quality links, but is there anything else I can do to improve the authority?

SEO value in baclklink from blog.domain VS domain
Will a back-link from "domain.com/abc" and "blog.domain.com/abc" have same value from an SEO perspective? Assume same article written on both sites.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | knielsen
I have been told the bots look at the domain value and the only links from blogs that have less value are in case of comments. As long as the "blog.domain/abc" page includes a full article and not a blog comment then it counts fully for SEO. Is this correct?0 -
Sitemaps recommend by google
Google in it guideline recommends to create a sitemap. Do they means a /sitemap.xml or does it need to be sitemap directly on the website ? Does it make any difference ? Thank you,

10yr old Domain, Conflicting Message from Webmaster tools/Google search
This is the first time I have encountered this and am quite frankly a little baffled on how to proceed. We have some domains that are 10 years old, and do get some hits / impressions and they have a lot of content. So I redid the site in wordpress etc... Anyway, on Google the sites show up as www. , and on Webmaster tools,- the www. shows no impressions or anything, while the non-www domain shows up in google webmaster tools with data. The question is, if google displays the site as www. and webmaster tools shows data for non www. Which one do I proceed with, finding info on this has been pretty hard to do. Any input is appreciated, Thanks in advance:)

So, google places showing up on search results is great feature . . . But how can we get our results to the top? I mean I can see some terrible websites appearing at the top of the google places with their places page having no activity whatsoever. Is there a trick to this at all? What can we do to increase our ranking on Google Places because our old GOOD rankings are now appearing BELOW the map results Cheers
