Is SEMrush Going Out Of Business?
-
We subscribe to both Moz and SEMrush to help administer our sites. However, SEMrush, which used to update our campaigns once per day, hasn't been functioning for over one month now ... and it isn't just our campaigns, people are complaining about their service all over the internet. Still, they haven't posted a single status update on their blog or on any of their social media even though everyone has been complaining about the issue. Emails go unanswered, and when they do answer, their response is that they are having technical issues and will have the problem fixed by Monday ... and they have been saying that for about 6 weeks now with no end in sight. Does anyone know if they are going out of business or are they just completely dropping the ball?

I've had problems and emailed them to ask what the devil is going on - they replied saying that they would compensate me for the time the service is down for. That was last week. I logged in this morning and my rankings were tracked successfully, so I emailed them to ask what compensation I will be getting... So far I haven't had a response, but they gave me a discount last year when a similar thing happened so I have every expectation of them fulfilling their promises.

I use their service daily and it's been fine for me. You may need to try calling them:
- United States: +1-855-814-4510
- Worldwide: +1-408-844-4633
- Skype: SEMRUSH.PHONE

I hope you get your questions answered just in case others are experiencing the same as yourself.

One this is for sure that they're not at all going outta business.
You may want to touch with them via FB: https://www.facebook.com/SEMrush or
twitter https://twitter.com/semrush
They've been quite active on the both the platform. May be they're not paying attention to general user comments, which is very concerning, but instead of waiting for them to respond to users comments and blogs, you should rather try to contact them via email, or social media. I hope you'll get heard.

When a company lets you go, what is the standard practice for a moz account? Do you simply turn it over and lose all access and moz identity? Or?
Since MOZ is a community, it seems odd to simply turn over my moz account now the company has let me go. Do people typically do this and simply start a new account every time they work someplace new? Or what? I wanted to seek out what the community thought about this -- so that I would have a better idea of how to handle this now and for the next time.

Paid links from directory listing and business listing sites are good or bad according to Penguin 2.1 update?
Hi Friends, Recently on October 4th, 2013, a new spam filtering algorithm got live named Penguin 21. / Penguin 5. The update goes after sites that may have purchased paid links. I would like to know is it safe, if we submit website details with links in paid directories, eg: https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/submit/intro/ (yahoo directory) and quality business listing sites provided the categories are related to our website. Our competitor sites having the backlinks from those kind of directories and they are performing (ranking) well in major search engines. May I know how Google treat these kinds of links according to this recent algorithm update?

Six Reconsiderations and Zero options left - Where do I go from here?
I have a client that I'm trying to get reindexed after they did extensive link farming in the past through other companies. We've poured countless hours in and I've submitted 6 Disavows/Reconsiderations and watched every video from Google on the topic. The client has also invested a significant amount of money into our work.

We've used the following to try and find links: -Google Webmaster Tools (Shows a limit of 1,000 domains) -Bing Webmaster Tools -Link Detox (paid) -Google Analytics (Lifetime Referral Report) -Open Site Explorer All we've gotten is automated responses with 2 sample links. In the latest one, they only supplied 1 sample link, which was odd because it said 'sample URLs'. Either way, we feel that we're out of options. Is it time to throw in the towel and inform the client, or are there other resources we can exhaust? Where do we go from here? Thanks!0 -
Has anybody used Yext or Universal Business Listings as an automated approach to getting clients into all of the many directories? If so does it work? Or does Google penalize in using these automated services?
I'm trying to figure out if using either Yext or Universal Business Listings is worth it. They have reseller programs for SEO agencies. I just am curious what other SEO folks think of these services as I'm considering using one of them to automate and save time for clients. If you go to Yext.com or universalbusinesslistings.org you can see these. Curious what others say about these. Thanks

If you could go back in time and build any brands SEO what brand would that be and why?
Ok so yes this my idea of having fun when I think about SEO. For me it would be Coca Cola as they only have fast moving consumer goods and their whole brand just SCREAMS "please take me viral". Maybe Disney or a Gaming company..

Same Hosting IP - Will it hurt same type of business ranking?
Hi, I am curious if example: There is 2 plumbing company and both using the same Singapore hosting
Industry News | | chanel27
and same IP, Will Google give less ranking to these 2 plumbing sites because Google might think that they are the same company and they are duplicate website even when their content is totally different. Does Google rank different hosting IP address better for the same business?0 -
Who is going to Searchlove London? Will you stop and say hi?
A massive part of the conference is meeting people. I went last year and would like to make sure I meet as much of the moz community as I can this year. If you are going to be there please let me know and we can all make a point to say hi I'm debating whether to go back to the mohawk hairstyle for the conference, for ease of recognition 😉 Cheers and hope to see you there Stephen

New business acquisition for digital agencies from SEO and CRO
I have a nice simple question to ask all you mozzers out there, specifically if you work for a web design/digital agency. Does your agency get any new business clients through your SEO and CRO efforts? I'm asking this to try and build up a qualitative data set. I am responsible for all SEO and CRO at our agency for all clients along with our own website. Having increased traffic by over 200% in the last 12 months, and obtaining page one of Google for all our targeted keywords, we are still without any new business or ROI. We are fortunate enough to get a lot of great clients via word of mouth, a great sales team and client retention, I'd really like to know what the bigger picture is here? If I get enough data back, I'll make it into my first Youmoz post and share all the data with everyone :¬) I've now added a survey so you answer anonymously: There are only 5 questions in all, your time is greatly appreciated. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/New_business_acquisitions_for_digital_agencies Any feedback gladly welcomed. Regards Sean
