Is my knowledge graph code wrong?
-
I inserted the Knowledge Graph code on our site last week and am still not seeing the knowledge graph in our search results. Is something incorrect with my code?
<script type="<a class="attribute-value">application/ld+json</a>"> { "@context" : "http://schema.org", "@type" : "Organization", "name" : "IssueTrak", "url" : "http://www.issuetrak.com/", "sameAs" : [ "http://www.facebook.com/issuetrak", "http://www.twitter.com/issuetrak", "http://plus.google.com/google.com/+Issuetrak"] } script>head> I suspect it is the alignment of the "{" and "}" but others in the company say that doesn't matter. Any other explanations for why the KG isn't showing in the results? Thanks I did test it with Google's Structured Data Testing Tool and got the "all's good."

Thank you IssueTrak,
Although we have been a member for a long time we just started being more active on the Q&A, more stars will come. Let us know how it works out.

Great information! Thanks VERB. How do I get you more stars for your rating?

Hi IssueTrak,
I do agree with Dr. Pete, anything done is merely a suggestion, I like to think of it as farming, you create the most ideal situation for your organic search results to grow but unexpected influences will cause you to change your approach and some of these unexpected influences will be beyond your control.
One thing I would mention that is a bit of a red flag for me is that your structured data offers no additional organizational info on the home page. So when the google bot crawls the home page they see you are trying to push the Name, Url and the social accounts, this could be considered a bit scammy. I would suggest expanding on the content and add a description, mailing address, etc anything to make it your info more robust. In addition explore the adding the schema for https://schema.org/SoftwareApplication since you folks seem to be a software application company.
The Knowledge Graph info is pulled from multiple avenues, if these suggestions for Schema changes don't start producing better results, start looking outside of the Schema, for an example submit a request for a Wikipedia entry to be written (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Business_and_economics/Companies)
I hope this helps,
VERB

Keep in mind that well-formatted structured data is only step one of (X), where Google defines X and X is always changing. Ok, I exaggerate a little, but the frustrating key point is that structured data is no guarantee that you will get enhanced results or any kind of Knowledge Graph entity. It's just a suggestion, and Google has to factor in a lot of other things. If the testing tool is giving you the green light, that's usually about the best you can hope for.
What kind of KG entity are you trying to produce, exactly (do you have a sample query with a competitor who has it)?

Hey
If it looks good to Google, and all markup is matched up, then you're set!
I double checked and got All Good!
Hope this helps - good luck!

Wrong title tag
Hi, need help. I notice Google always , on all my pages (about 30), index wrong title tag. If I try to use "my-keywords-here | my_company_name" Google always index "my_company_name: my-keywords-here" and can't figure why is that :(
Technical SEO | | MirkoL
The problem is always only with "my-keywords-here | my_company_name".
If I use "my-keywords-here - my_company_name" or "my-keywords-here my_company_name" (without sign | ) everything is fine
Is anybody having any reasonable explanation?
Is anybody having Joomla page with "my-keywords-here | my_company_name" in the title and have indexed by Google like that? one example is www.ferometal-prerada.hr Thank you1 -
Location of Content within the Code Structure
Hi guys,
Technical SEO | | artdivision
When working with advanced modern websites it many times means that in order to achieve the look and feel we end up with pages that has almost 1000 lines of code or more. In some cases it is impossible to avoid it if we are to reach the Client's visual and technical specifications. Say the page is 1000 lines of code, and our content only starts at line 450 onwards, will that have an impact from a Google crawlability, hence affect our SEO making it harder to rank? Thoughts? Title tag code
Hi, I have a couple of websites where I can't define the title tag (CMS does not support it) on a few default pages. On these pages "the system" just uses the primary/main title tag (from the frontpage) and my programming skills (as if I have any...!) have not been able to make a html code or something to override the main title tag on these specific pages. Does this make sense at all and can anyone give me a hint, a code to try out or something? Problem is that I now have 3 pages with the same title tag which in terms of SEO isn't too good, so to say... Thanks in advance. Jan

Do knowledge base plugins on a subdomain have seo benefit?
Hi SEO Moz, We want to use a knowledge base plugin (cheaper & faster than building it ourselves) where we can have Q&As for our website. We want this to help with our SEO by adding in our keyterms that we want to rank for. We've looked into TenderApp & Get Satisfaction which look like good solutions - however, as they're both on a sub-domain do we get any seo benefit from this? When people link to our knowledge base, will this help our website at all - or is the benefit going to go to TenderApp/Get Satisfaction? For instance - Our website URL is http://widget.products.com The KB URL is http://widgetsupport.products.com If the above plugin is not a good solution, is there anything else that is better? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Omniture tracking code URLs creating duplicate content
My ecommerce company uses Omniture tracking codes for a variety of different tracking parameters, from promotional emails to third party comparison shopping engines. All of these tracking codes create URLs that look like www.domain.com/?s_cid=(tracking parameter), which are identical to the original page and these dynamic tracking pages are being indexed. The cached version is still the original page. For now, the duplicate versions do not appear to be affecting rankings, but as we ramp up with holiday sales, promotions, adding more CSEs, etc, there will be more and more tracking URLs that could potentially hurt us. What is the best solution for this problem? If we use robots.txt to block the ?s_cid versions, it may affect our listings on CSEs, as the bots will try to crawl the link to find product info/pricing but will be denied. Is this correct? Or, do CSEs generally use other methods for gathering and verifying product information? So far the most comprehensive solution I can think of would be to add a rel=canonical tag to every unique static URL on our site, which should solve the duplicate content issues, but we have thousands of pages and this would take an eternity (unless someone knows a good way to do this automagically, I’m not a programmer so maybe there’s a way that I don’t know). Any help/advice/suggestions will be appreciated. If you have any solutions, please explain why your solution would work to help me understand on a deeper level in case something like this comes up again in the future. Thanks!
