Number of keywords for single page website
-
Hello, i have a question about keywords in Single page website. For how many keywords should i focus in single page website? For example: In my industry are important 2 different keywords - cabinet making and **made to measure furniture. **Should i focus on both keywords or its better to pick better keyword and focus only for that one (of course including different forms of that word and so on). Thank you for help.

You can optimize and create your landing page content however you see fit. If you want to optimize the content for more than one keyword, go ahead! The most important thing to remember is not to overstuff your content with keywords—but utilizing multiple keywords can definitely help this.
Before focusing on very specific keywords that you think are the most important for the industry, make sure that these are the keywords that people are actually searching. You should be writing content that attracts and helps users. You need to write for what they want to hear, not necessarily what you want to share.

Hi Reyzer,
The pointers below should give you an indication of how to go about this and further dilemmas of keyword targeting:
What does your customer expect to see?
Do customers have the same intent when they search for the ‘cabinet making’ and ‘made to measure furniture’? If ‘cabinet making’ and ‘made to measure furniture’ are just different ways of phrasing the same thing – stick them on the same page.
What do you offer as a business?
Do both of the terms accurately describe your service or do you have two different services for each of them? It would make no sense to have separate pages for the service, but it could be worth having different pages for various features/benefits of the service.
Take a look at Wistia ( https://wistia.com/product/marketing-automation) and how they talk about the same product on different pages by highlighting different benefits and in this way targeting different user needs/intents.
What does Google expect to see?
At a high level, you can often determine how to group your keywords simply by looking at a competitor's menu structure and major categories.
You can also check whether there is a cross-over between the top 10 URLs that appear for your terms. For your terms, there is not a single URL crossover amongst top ten search results.
Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions and best of luck!

Keyword strategies are quite in-depth when you get started so it's good to know from the outset, what you are trying to promote from that page.
From your examples, both phrases give a very different set of results, so I would be looking to create 2 different pages for these. However, you will need to do some research on how to make these pages more targeted for Google.
For example, for Made to measure furniture, I would be looking to add keywords and phrases that you know Google associates with them, such as:
- We make it to order
- Furniture we make to order
- Custom made furniture
- Bespoke furniture
- Contemporary furniture maker
- Bespoke solid wood furniture
- Bespoke fitted furniture
Depending on the pages you are looking to promote, you could add some of these as headings or talk more about them as part of the page content.
But as always with keywords, make sure it all makes sense and don't just drop keywords and phrases into a page without giving them a reason to be there.
Such a big subject, but I hope this helps a little.

Hi Reyzer,
Though in theory, Gaston Riera's response is correct that you really can't determine the number of keywords on your page, it's up to Google / search engines to decide what keywords they find your page useful to rank.
The main criteria for the keywords that would actually remain the same overall, so you need to be careful about optimizing the page for too many keywords.
You can read about the best on-page SEO factors that determine the possible rankings for keywords on this link : https://mza.seotoolninja.com/learn/seo/on-page-factors
I hope this helps, feel free to respond if you have further questions.

Hi there,
There is no exact rule in this subjet. A single page is elegible to rank for thousands of keywords.
Having more than one main keyword for a single page makes it more difficult to Google to decide on which to rank better. That said, lets get to business. For me the best and optimal solution is to have different pages for keywords that are different. So that you can fully optimize every page for just one main keyword.
In your case i'd have these two pages:Then every page can also be target of further optinizations for long tails keywords of the main keyword.
Hope I've helped.
GR.

Improving SEO for an e-commerce page with 1 product page
I'm trying to improve the SEO for an e-commerce store that I'm working for that sells custom car air fresheners where you select the shape of the item and then upload the photo. The site has been around for almost 10 years so has authority in the field and ranks number one for custom car air fresheners and other related high-traffic keywords. However, there is no blog, no social media and has 8 total pages: landing page, FAQ, contact, guidelines, shape/product (page that starts the ordering process with little text), scents, terms, and samples.

I'm struggling with how we rank higher for specific keywords that we are not number 1 with ok traffic (such as dog air freshener, custom air freshener for car with picture, custom photo car air freshener) and not affect the current keywords that we are ranking number one for. In addition, how do we rank higher for other keywords, if we don't have that many pages like a blog to create content? I was thinking of creating a blog to target more keywords, but I don't think there is enough relevant content to make. And I feel Google would find a blog about "top gifts for dad" or "top gifts for the holidays" not relevant. I was also thinking of adding more text to the shapes/product page which could be tailored towards a keyword. Maybe I could create another product page that goes into more detail about the air freshener with images, descriptions, and other use cases. On MOZ, the Domain Authority is 18 (really low), so I am thinking about working on getting backlinks from relevant sources with authority to improve our SEO. Or do we not mess with the text on the website since it works and not worry about the other keywords and focus on technical SEO items and backlinks to help with SEO? TLDR: How do you improve SEO for new keywords for an e-commerce business that doesn't have a lot of pages for content without affecting its number 1 ranking on other keywords?0 -
Wordpress SEO: Category page + Product page or only category page?
Trying to improving my website's ranks on google for a specific keyword (e.g. Samsung S6), I'm thinking about doing some experiments. I've a wordpress based blog. Now, I've the category "Samsung S6" (url: example.com/samsung-s6), with only the latest 6 news (with excerpts) + pagination. This ranks good, but it's a bit ugly as a landing page and I want a better rank. I could improve this page by customizing the template and adding some static text, but it could be a time-consuming solution considering that I'm using a third party theme and I should check this every update. Also, it's harder to customize this page then the next solution: I'm thinking about creating a new page Samsung S6 (url: example.com/samsungs6). This page will contain a product overlay (e.g. RAM, HD, screen size etc.), + product description with features and a small review of it's elements (e.g. camera description with results, suggested applications etc.) + some images/youtube videos + latest 6 news (without excerpts) + some links to other relevant pages in my website for that product, including a link to the category page. What will happen in terms of SEO? Any idea if the new page could rank better than the category page, considering that it has more static elements? Not sure if google could detects duplicates, or two page comepting for the same keyword on the same website is a bad thing. Which are your ideas? Is it ok to have two pages competing for the same keyword on the same website?

Homepage keyword changing strategy
Hi! We're a spanish construction company and we've been positioning our home with the keyword "wooden homes". We also have a specific landing page positioned with that same keyword. Right now we are getting out of a penguin and panda penalization and we're doing well. As part of a rebranding strategy we are thinking of changing our homepage keyword to "luxury homes". We are still going to hace the "wooden houses" landing page but this keyword is just going to be present in its own landing. The new keyword has much more volume of search than the one we have right now. Is there a strategy you can recomend us for this rebranding? Thanks

Setting Up a Keyword Matrix
Greetings MOZ community!! My real estate web site contains about 500 pages with perhaps 70 pages targeting low volume, somewhat valuable but not very competitive keywords. Three to four URLs target very competitive terms. The following terms are among the most valuable: New York City office space,
Keyword Research | | Kingalan1
New York office space,
Manhattan office space,
NYC office space Such variants as: Office space in New York City,
Office space in New York,
Office space in Manhattan,
Office space in NYC
ETCETERA convert really well How would I match different terms to different URLs? For example I have just re-written the following two critical URLs: www.nyc-officespace-leader.com (home page)
http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/commercial-space/office-space (product page) Would it make sense to use "Manhattan office space" and variants on the home page while excluding "New York City office space" variants? At the same time I would use "New York City office space" variants on the "office-space" product page while excluding all mention of "Manhattan office space". Is this logical and does it conform to SEO best practices? For the "NYC office space" terms I would add them to http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings. This URL has almost no text but a strong potential to rent because of a high number of incoming internal links. Is this approach sensible? In general what measures should I take to prevent URLs from competing for the same keywords? Also, is there a software package or tools that I can use to come up with keyword variants? As a non SEO professional, can I create my own keyword matrix or is this really in the realm of a professional SEO consultant? Thanks, Alan0 -
How to choose a Keyword
I searched around for this answer first but got information overload. I write a photography blog and tonight I will put up a post of photography from around Jiyugaoka Train Station. I will probably call the post Around Jiyugaoka Station or Around Jiyugaoka or something like that. I like in Jiyugaoka (a part of Tokyo) so I have other posts that I have keyworded for Jiyugaoka. What is the best way to determine what is the best derivative of 'Jiyugaoka Station' to choose for the best traffic? I assume I could enter them in to manually into the Keyword Analysis but is there is easier way that would give recommendations?

Best Keyword Research Tool
Can anyone please recommend the best keyword research tools available, we specialise in the travel industry and struggle to find new keywords as the more niche ones always show no traffic searches in the google keyword tool so it is really difficult to make a judgement. We know from google analytics that some niche keywords really are useless and while they are no. 1 they generate no traffic. I hope you can help Thanks! Andy
