Annoying Popup saying "authentication required"! How do I resolve this?
-
I utilise the Moz bar quite rigourously as a content marketer but i'm having an annoying popup every second. Moz kept bugging me with a popup bar saying: "authentication required" asking me to input my username & password. Though filling it in correctly, it keeps bugging me every second. Sometimes even when I have disabled the toolbar it keeps poping up! How to resolve this?

Hey there!
Our engineers have worked their magic, and we have actually just rolled out a brand new version of the MozBar - you can download it here. It's also recommended to clear your cache & cookies upon reinstalling. So far, we've had reports of great success - if you're still running into trouble after downloading the new version, please pop a message over to [email protected] so we can collect some details from you about exactly what you're seeing:)

Hi,
I have the same problem and it's the same even after uninstalling and reinstalling the MozBar.

I was having this before the weekend. Every new page I visit, Mozbar would give me a captcha. As much as I enjoy picking out all the bicycle photos from the grid, it's not so fun when it pops up for every new page....

Hey there!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here.
Sorry to hear about the problems you're running into with the MozBar:(. We have been experiencing some troubles with the tool, and have updated our Health Page to reflect this. Our engineers are working a complete overhaul on the back end to resolve the issues people have been seeing.
A few issues similar to the one you've mentioned have been resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the MozBar - could you give this a shot to see if it helps?
If not, we'd love to collect some information from you and some screenshots of exactly what you're seeing (every little piece of info helps), so could you send over a message to [email protected] if the uninstall/reinstall isn't effective?

Page Grader states "includes Canonical Tag" but it's not in the page source at all
I've ran it multiple times and changed other things it picked up on so not sure where it's getting the canonical tag is included even though it isn't?

Fresh Web Explorer: if you put a keyword in quotes, is it case sensitive?
For example, would a saved search for "racor fuel filter" capture mentions of "Racor fuel filter"? I'm really hoping I don't have to duplicate the keywords with the alternative capitalisations!! Many thanks Steve

Need a link rel="canonical"??
I'm getting a Craw issue in my MOZ insights which says "It looks like you're not using the rel="canonical" META attribute on any of the pages we crawled" Do we need to have a rel="canonical" on our site? I can't find a reason to use it so don't know why it would be appearing as a crawl error? Thanks

On-Page Grader "Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible."
We have a new client with a squarespace page. http://www.mountainhouseestate.com The Moz On-Page grader returns the error "Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible." for all pages. Possibly related, Google seems to hate their site. Even a search for "mountain house estate" returns lousy results. Bing/Yahoo has no problem with it.

What is Wil Reynrolds saying at 47:42 at Mozcon? Video Bundle
I was watching his session and it sounds like he is saying tag crab or tag cloud? As someone who has never heard of either or anything close I would really like to know what he is talking about. Appreciate any help!

Change an "Answered" question to "unanswered?"
Some times Moz marks my questions as 'answered" when they are not. I know that if I mark something as a "good answer" or select "answered" (obviously) it will change, but occasionally (like the last question I asked) it gets changed and I'm not sure how to change it back to "unanswered." Anyone know if that's possible? Thanks, Ruben

Clarify "broad keyword usage in page title"
Hello Page grader has two different grades for page title that I want clarification on. There is "Broad Keyword Usage in Page Title" and "Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title". Googling around about and searching here I have found that "broad" seems to mean the keywords should be used throughout the page, rather than just in the title and header. Which makes sense as this is a kind of check to ensure the page IS about the keywords and not something unrelated. But what is meant by "broad" usage in the page title? This refers specifically to the page title and not the whole document. My best guess got me to this, given the keyword "Visit London Today"; "Come and visit London today" - exact match only "London - visit today" - broad match only "Visit London the city of dreams | visit London today" - matches both That could be complete nonsense, but basically is broad usage the use of keywords scattered in the page title? Thanks.
