Added Schema and Rankings Went Down
-
Hello -
We launched a schema plugin for our WordPress site to make our blog seen as articles and main page as an organization. The day after, we saw a dramatic decrease in Keyword rankings but our website health improved with Google. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

If you use the Schema WordPress plugin, it may be that you have breadcrumbs enabled. Martha van Berkel, a founder, helped me troubleshoot a similar issue and we resolve them by turning off breadcrumbs. It seems that some JS can cause odd behavior.
I believe it works better to add schema via the GTM.
SEMrush is tops at establishing your website's health, but cannot diagnose some of these happenings (no one service can).
Your site relies on quite a few plugins - I wish you the best. I do audits; let me know how I can help you.

You may need to login to Google Search Console and check and see if you have a manual action of some sort.

I did some digging, there are some cases where WP plugins have added so much markup it is overdone and that can cause issues. I did not see the one you are using (Schema plugin v1.6.1) mentioned, but that does not mean it caused the issue.

Hello!
When you state "website health" improved, what do you mean?
- Did you check your schema with the Google Rich Snippets tester and it validated? https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool
- Did you go into Google Search Console and check for errors and validate that Google is finding the snippets? https://www.google.com/webmasters/#?modal_active=none
My suspicion is that the schema plugin is maybe doing other things you did not intend it to do. Did it add a noindex tag? Did it setup strange canonicals?
Without you specifically giving a page to look at, screen shots from any of the above (or other tools) or what is the specific plugin you are using, it is otherwise very difficult to figure out.
Cheers

Why is my site ranking so poorly compared to my competition?
I own a car shipping business (www.carshippingcarriers.com) and I was ranking very high last year, but around the end of August our site lost a TON of rank. Afterwards I had my SEO team at the time (no longer working with them) do a complete overhaul of the website (rewrote content, combined many pages together so no duplicate content issue, made it mobile friendly, etc.. Since then we continue to still lose rankings on Google. Yahoo and Bing seem to keep performing decently, but Google we are getting destroyed. I have been a member of Moz for a few months and I have been using the open site to check my competitors and their linking profile. One in particular, www.joescarshipping.com, has been ranking extremely well and the site looks horrible, doesn't have many links, hardly a social media presence, etc.. Compared my my website which has ton of content, articles on our website, social profile is great (tons of Google+ usage), not a ton of links so a decent amount of links, etc.. Why would a company like that be ranking so high while I keep falling? Any advice or reasoning as to what is wrong or what could be done to get better rankings? I am just at my wits end on this matter. 😕

Changing .nl to .eu impact on rankings?
Hi all, I have 2 questions concerning the merge of two websites of ours.
Technical SEO | | MarikeP
We would like to combine our .nl and .be website to one big .eu website. Both websites have dutch and english rankings in The Netherlands and Belgium. 1. Will the rankings change because of the domain change to .eu?
2. Will the rankings in both countries change because of the merge? I hope somebody can help me, Greetings0 -
Ranking going down and down and disappears.
I asked a question a few weeks ago about a main keyword that we are targeting that is fluctuating up and down. The keyword is "trash bags" and that is what my company sells. All different colors, thicknesses and sizes. This isn't just a random keyword we are trying to optimize for, this is our business. Before I started optimizing the website for "trash bags" we used the term "garbage bags", now that we started we have been off the charts and on the charts, but we have never regained rankings. The trend finally looked like it was going upwards... but now I see I dropped off of google again. Is this normal? Should I be worried that google is penalizing me for this keyword (There is many links that have trash bags in the anchor text - but we do sell that!)? Here is a screenshot of our ranking history for trash bags: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/3vpdp/no01

2. real estate presentation Our website is: http://www.agentpresentations.com We asked Google through Webmaster Tools to reconsider the site and they replied back saying nothing was wrong. We run Google Adwords and we contacted them and they looked at the keywords and sent screenshots to us showing the ranking we still there. But they are not... as proven in Webmaster tools. So Adwords told us to ask Webmaster Tools to reconsider the site again. Nothing yet... What do you suggest?0 -
Schema Address Question
I have a local business with a contact page that I want to add schema markup to. However, I was wondering if having the address with schema info on the contact page instead of the home page has any adverse effects on the rich snippet showing up in search. There's no logical place to add schema for a local business on the home page, so having it on the contact page—not in the footer or sidebar—is the only option.

Does a CDN affect search rankings?
I feel kind of stupid asking this, but if i use one it would speed things up quite a bit. It is for a ecommerce website, any guidance on this would be awesome!

Ranking above PLACE PAGES
What does it take for results to show up above Place Page results. It seems like Google Local gets a lot of emphasis . Any thoughts?
