Keyword research
-
Could some give me an example on how they do keyword research because I have tried many things and it doesn't work.
Here is what I tried : Let's take a keyword " Alsace bike tours"
I go to the keyword tool, lisgraph, ubersuggest, google keyword tool, and type "Alsace bike tours"
Thos tools spit me phrases such as :
"bike from colmar to riquewihr, "alsace vineyard cycle route", alsace cycle routes. I write my content and integrate those expressions in it.
In my content I add words that relate to alsace such as Strasbourg, Colmar, the wine route etc...
I wait and weeks later see no change in ranking..
What I am missing ?
Thank you,
-
It's worth undertaking keyword research using Moz because, otherwise, you will not know which SEO keywords to improve and you wont be able to track how they are improving.
We got a Cardiff fencing business on page one, by using SEO tools, such as Moz, to constantly see, each week how our SEO was improving.

You have to be patient waiting for Google to re-cache a page and, even after they do, your rankings still might not improve with just onsite changes. You need backlinks too. Also, more internal links from blog posts can help too.
In terms of the type of content to write for the Alsace Bike Tours page, we'd recommend looking at the top ten ranking pages and get ideas from their content. Also, include any information that someone might want to see if they are searching for that phrase.
We looked at https://www.digngo.com/tour/alsace-bike-tour/ and think that you did a great job talking about Strasbourg and Colmar. Since those cities are the beginning and ending of the bike route it makes sense to talk about what someone can do in those cities.

Here is the page I am talking about : https://bit.ly/2XAgohf
I did put it online 24 hours ago and see that it the latest version isn't cached maybe I should wait until it is ?
In the meantime, for my keyword "Alsace bike tours" if you go in the keyword tool you will notice there are no questions so how do I answer the user intent on such a keyword ? In that case should I answer like wikipedia with a "where is Alsace" even though the relevancy is just a 1 out of 5 ?
I also have question about related topics, there are number of tools including Moz content suggestion that gives you related topic and for "Alsace bike tours" it gives me "Strasbourg" and "Colmar" . But what do I need to do with those, is just words to add in my content or is topics that i need to cover and answer a question about "Strasbourg" ? If it is a question that I need to answer could someone tell me how to answer it because I am not sure what I would answer
Thank you,

Without having more information about your website, I'm going to venture to say that what you are missing is a combination of patience, link building and content promotion and has nothing to do with your keyword research process, which sounds good by the way.
Patience:
Assuming you are putting in the hard work to create great content and build links from relevant content around the web, you have to give it time. Rankings don't happen over night.Link Building:
If you have great content on your site--great! Now spend a lot of time getting links from other websites. Links bring in authority and other signals to the search engines that your site deserves to rank.Content Promotion:
"If you build it, he will come" doesn't work as well for websites as it did for Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams. You have to promote the heck out of your content. It has to be interesting so people will share it. You need to reach out to people and get them to share or write about your content. It's all hard work and it takes time but those who are determined will get the rankings they are working for.

Homepage keeps disappearing and reappearing for important keywords every few days
My homepage keeps disappearing from the SERPS for my most important keywords. My home page has been in number 2 position for years. When the home page disappears it will not even show in a Google search for my business name although it is still indexed. When the home page is not showing an internal page shows instead but in position 6. When the home page is back the internal page does not show. There are no issues being reported in Google Webmaster. When I realise that it's down I do a fetch as Google and request reindexing. No idea if this is bringing it back or not? We are so worried about this and totally at a loss. As are the three SEO companies I've called. Would really appreciate it if someone could give some advice. NSFW https://goo.gl/dwA8YB

Does it matter if the meta description and meta keywords come before the title tag in the
The way our site was built, engineers put the title tag blow the meta desc. and meta keywords. I asked to have it changed based on the best practice of putting the most important content first, but apparently doing this will cause a major ripple effect in the way the site was engineered. Will we lose out on full SEO benefit with this structure? Should I stand down? <title></p></title>

Google Ranking Generally in Germany - Keywords & Umlauts
Hi Mozzers, I was hoping i could get some advice/opinions on a website ranking problem i have been working on, in particular one of the pages. This is our German language website which is hosted from Germany and a flaunt German speaking member of staff from our German office moderates the text content of the website for us.Our website seems to get good traffic ,visitor navigation and conversions. One of the keywords i focus building around is Schallpegelmessgerät which is one way of basically saying Sound level meter in German. The keyword uses an umlaut which i cannot use in the URL, but google is picking up and putting into the snippets, but apart from that our on-page optimization is good according to the moz tool. I have been trying to improve our content and we post many blog articles around the topic/keyword but google.de seems to choose not to even display this on the first couple of pages and sometimes ranks our blog articles around the third page. We are even been outranked by some low quality cheap online shop websites some of which with low quality content and low page and domain authorities. I had accepted this but after looking at bing.de and doing a search i find our page in the top 5 results, i understand that google and bing's algorhythms are different but just struggling to get my head around it all. Here is our website & page - http://www.cirrusresearch.de/produkte/schallpegelmessgerat/ Any advice on this situation would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much for reading this James

Google and keywords with and without accents. How to approach optimization for both?
This is more of a problem for people optimizing for keywords in spanish, french, german and such. It is well known that SERPs for keywords with and without accents are different. However, I haven't been able to discover how do I make the incorrectly misspelled keywords rank without messing up the site's content. Another fact to take into account is that more than half the searches made in these languages are done without accents because, let's face it, it's just too much work. An example of my specific problem: The misspelled keyword "cursos de ingles" is currently ranking higher than the correctly spelled keyword "cursos de inglés". However, the misspelled keyword "clases de ingles" is not ranking at all and the correctly spelled keyword "clases de inglés" is on the first page. How is this possible? Now, how can I optimize the misspelled keywords to rank higher without misspelling the content on my site? Thank you! Capture.PNG

Can keyword in onpage links be seen as spam?
My seo strategy relies heavily on a lot of great relevant content on the domain. To achieve this, I have a section with 'information docs' on each product page. They are lists with links to informational pages relevant to the product. For instance; domain.com/apples/ On this product page there are 30 links to articles; domain.com/apples/how-to-store/
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Koenseo
domain.com/apples?recipes/ etc. The anchor texts of these links are the titles of these articles, so on the product page the list of links looks like this: How to store apples
Recipes with apples etc. Question: Are those keywords in the links (apples) counted as onpage keyword usage an can it be seen as keyword stuffing by Google? Thanks a lot.0 -
Adding another keyword phrase to home page.
I finally reached the #1 ranking for my websites main keyword phrase. There are two more equally good keyword phrases that have my main two keywords plus one additional page. Can I shoot for both of those or should I limit it to just adding one more keyword phrase for a max of two? For Example. I rank #1 for Horse Buggies (our domain is the main two keywords) (Example) The other two equally good phrases with a little more traffic are Horse Large Buggies (I rank #29)and Horse Giant Buggies. (#46) What is the best way to start ranking for those terms....without saturating or cannabolizing my current terms? We are about to change the URL's on some of our pages...so maybe I could add Large and Giant to the URL. Any suggestions? I sure would like to capture the other two keyword phrases. #1 URL additions? ( I think this would just rank me higher for the new pages) #2 Would getting new links with those two new keyword phrases in the alt text help or is that black hat? #3 Adding more of those keyword phrases to my home page? Thank you, Boo

2 Year Old Keyword Focused Site Will Not Rank for Keyword
Hi All, I need your help. This site is confounding me. The site is turnstilefactory.com It's a few years old. Strong domain name and seo focused on the term 'turnstile'. In bound links are not abundant, but certainly not absent either. Considering the subject matter, content and competition in the space, I would expect this site by now to at least be in the top 10 pages for the search 'turnstile', but it's not. I've tried everything I can think of with this, but it just won't rank for anything other than it's domain name. Can anyone please take a look and let me know if they see something I'm missing? It would be appreciated. Thanks.
