Why Google Is Changing our Title Tags?
-
Hi fellow Moz SEOs,
Need your URGENT help! We set an optimised title for our client websites. These titles are approved by our clients. When they checked on Google, noticed the title was not the same. They notified me about this issue. The title looks fine when I checked the source code. Why Google set our title differently?
For example:
Title approved by client: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore | Cardiology Clinic | Dr. Lim Ing Haan
**Google set our title: **Dr. Lim Ing Haan: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore ...Title approved by client: Hernia Surgery Singapore | Arden JR Surgery
**Google set our title: **Arden JR Surgery: Hernia Surgery SingaporeTitle approved by client: Top Specialist Divorce & Family Lawyer - Yeo & Associates LLC
Google set our title: Yeo & Associates LLC: Top Specialist Divorce & Family LawyerTitle approved by client: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top Preschool | Carpe Diem
Google set our title: Carpe Diem: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top PreschoolEvery day, they are requesting me to update Google's title with their approved title. Also, asking me these questions.
Why did this happen?
Why didn't set their recommended title? Is there any way to set our approved titles? Please, help me to find the solution. ASAP
Thanks in advance!

Hi Maxi,
Have you tried heading to Google Search Console > Removals > Clear Cached URL to see if that helps?
Best,
Zack -
Hi Verz,
Thanks for the response. Has this improved, now that some time has passed?
Best,
Zack -
It doesn't look like, to me, you have placed your title tag before your CSS includes. This below is from the page source of your first link, as of today. Please notice how there is a stylesheet include, a very large one, before your title tag. I don't know for sure that this is the problem, but I would try placing your title tag before that stylesheet reference.
<html<br>lang=en-US><meta<br>charset="UTF-8"><meta<br>name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"><link<br>media=all href=https://drliminghaan.com/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_de91ffe89d4bc56be7552d25cabc178f.css rel=stylesheet><title>Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore | Cardiology Clinic | Dr. Lim Ing Haan</title></link<br></meta<br></meta<br></html<br>

Hi Jack,
Yes, I have checked "Clear Cached URL" option. But it's not changed anything. It's already more than 48hrs still results are same.
Regards,

Hi Verz,
Did you ask this in another comment, by chance? If not, I answered someone with a similar question this week, encouraging them to try heading to Google Search Console > Removals > Clear Cached URL to see if that helps.
Best,

Hello seoelevated,
Thank you for your suggestions. We already followed the same steps still results are same.

I'm not sure why the search engine is morphing the page title. One think I would recommend to try would be to move the title tag up to a position in the page source at the very beginning of the head section. It is currently after the CSS source link, and perhaps specifying it earlier might possibly have an impact. Worth a try, I think. But I'm not certain that is the issue.

Geolocation issue: Google not displaying the correct url in the SERP's
Hello, Im running a multi-country domain with this structure: domain.com/ar/
International SEO | | EstebanCervi
domain.com/mx/
domain.com/cl/
etc I also have: domain.com/int/ for x-default
domain.com/category/ does a 301 redirect through IP geo-location to the correspondent url, example if your IP is from Mexico, then you got redirected to domain.com/mx/category/ hreflang is correct. webmaster tool geo-location is correct. Example of the issue Im facing right now: When users from Chile do a keyword search in Google Chile, the domain ranks well but the URL that appears in the SERP is the /mx/ version, or the /int/ version or any other country version. Other times is the /cl/ version. The same happens for all the users / countries / keywords. I need to understand what Im doing wrong, because Google is not displaying in the SERP's the correct URL version for the country of the user who is doing the search. Thank you so much! I will appreciate your ideas. PS: I think I should try to change the 301 to a 302 redirect, or completely remove those redirects. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!0 -
Href lang tag - do I need it?
Hey Guys! I have a multi-lingual site in Switzerland serving french and german content. URL structure looks like this: homepage (main) http://www.exmaple.ch/ German http://www.exmaple.ch/de/ French http://www.exmaple.ch/fr/ You can choose a drop down on every page to convert the page into french or german. So there are basically two seperate sites, URL's do not cross over i.e. I have no french pages linking to german pages, it is all pretty good. The default language is german. I have checked in Google.ch/ in both languages french and german for which pages are being served up and they seem all relevant, i.e. on french browser settings when I go to google.ch I see french pages being served and vice versa. My question....Do I need href lang tags? Cheers all!

If I redirect based on IP will Google still crawl my international sites if I implement Hreflang
We are setting up several international sites. Ideally, we wouldn't set up any redirects, but if we have to (for merchandising reasons etc) I'd like to assess what the next best option would be. A secondary option could be that we implement the redirects based on IP. However, Google then wouldn't be able to access the content for all the international sites (we're setting up 6 in total) and would only index the .com site. I'm wondering whether the Hreflang annotations would still allow Google to find the International sites? If not, that's a lot of content we are not fully benefiting from. Another option could be that we treat the Googlebot user agent differently, but this would probably be considered as cloaking by the G-Man. If there are any other options, please let me know.

Does Google take into account the place where the server is hosted to rank the pages.
Does Google take into account the place where the server is hosted to rank the pages. What I mean is, if I have a server in USA and I am working for the Spain marketplace: Will Google rank better my pages for this market if the server were hosted in Spain?

Mini Google Search box within organic sitelinks
I'm trying to find solid information on Google's criteria on showing a "mini Google search box" within sitelinks? Example: if you type-in "wikipedia" on Google.com, a mini search box appears within the site links. This is for organic listing not paid listing. The Google Support page on Sitelinks does not state any info on the mini google search box. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=47334

Geographic Target set up in Google webmaster tool
Hi, When i launched my web site 3 months ago ( I'm am very new to SEO) I have set up the geographical target section in Google webmaster tool for US. Now, I'm thinking to change it to some other geo target to see if i can get more traffic. However, recently few of my prompted keywords got really well in Google US ranking. Here are my Questions: if i will change the geo settings in webmaster tool will effect the ranking i already managed to achieve in US? In the list of all the countries in Google webmaster tools what does is mean "unlisted"? Can i select more than one country to target and if I can how? Thanks!! Raviv
