Redirect
-
I have to change few permalinks on wordpress website and I am using yoast seo plugin to redirect the links. My question is should I keep links on the original post or should I delete them.
Thank you

Okay, something's got lost in translation, so if you can tell me whether I've understood your situation correctly that would help
1. You had an old URL domain.com/blogpost-1
2. You had other posts pointing at domain.com/blogpost-1
3. You changed the permalink to domain.com/new-blog-post
4. You also redirected domain.com/blogpost-1 to domain.com/new-blog-posthowever on your site you have pages that point to domain.com/blogpost-1 yes?
What I am saying is that any pages that still reference the old blog post should be corrected to point to the new blog post.
Any clearer?:-)

Hi Martin, I am sorry but I am not getting you:-(

In short, always correct your internal links to the most accurate ones. Don't remove the Internal link if you have a page of value, but if you update the link with the new URL it is better/quicker for your visitors and passes value more readily between the pages than relying on the redirect.

Hi Martin,
Thank you very much, I mean I have a post with links pointing to other posts on my website. Now I will redirect the post by using yoast seo plugin. I have created the same post with new permalink and with same links pointing to post on my website. My question is if should I remove the links pointing to posts on my website from the original post which is now redirected to the new one?

Just want to clarify: do you mean keep the links on the post to other sites or keep the links that used to point to your old URL?
If you have links pointing into the old URL then the 301 will help pass the value, but that diminishes over time, so where practical you should get links from external sites updated to point to the new URL so that the attribution of full link value remains in place.

Does google will see this has a 301 permanent redirect and will penalized my website?
Hi, I got a website that have a lot of information on job posting. The domain name will be new but i just want to redirect all of the old single job pages (around 300 pages). To the new domain pages but keep the old domain because it's already been indexed by google. The design will change but the content will kinda be the same. Is this a good approach? Does google will see this has a 301 permanent redirect and will penalized my website? Thanks alot

Should I ask sites that link to me to update links that redirect?
I have found some links to my site that go through a single 301 redirect to get to my site. Should I contact these websites to ask them to update the link, or is that not worth the time?

PHP Redirection better than Nofollow?
Hello, if I have affiliate outbound links in my blogs, what's better in terms of SEO, to use PHP Redirection or Nofollow for those links? For example, instead of using nofollow for the outbound affiliate links, I can use some plugin for WordPress that does this: mydomain.com/affiliatesitename1 -> redirects to the affiliate link1. mydomain.com/affiliatesitename2 -> redirects to the affiliate link2. mydomain.com/affiliatesitename3 -> redirects to the affiliate link3. Is this better? Thanks.

Redirecting a penalized domain to a new one to remove penalty?
I've got this website that has been hit quite hard by the first Penguin update round. Would it be better to move all my content to another domain and do a 301 redirect? Or should I keep the penalized domain and try to clean up the bad link profile? Also I must say that the website has been hacked last fall and the hacker was able to upload porn stuff in one of the folders. Needless to say, I quickly acquired tons of links from porn and warez. And no, porn and warez has nothing to do with my website's topic. Thank you for your help! Stephane

Better to redirect domain or to link from home page?
Hi, I have a niche directory and sometimes clients remove themselves because they have discontinued their business practice. If they sometimes provide me with their own website (as they will no longer use it either), is it wiser for me to: a) directly point their URL 301 to my own directory b) keep their website as is, and add a url link to my directory in their homepage c) keep their website as is, and add an anchored link with the industry keyword to my directory Thanks! Domain buyouts and 301 redirects
Hi, I'm looking to buy a number of already established website domains with back links and 301 direct this to my main website. The sites are very similar and all sell the same thing. Does anyone know how much link value will be past on from doing this? And, is this something that Google looks out for? Also, if you have experience of this, how did it work out? Thanks

Feedproxy Redirects - Do they pass link juice?
I use commentluv and all the links to my site when I leave a comment go through feedburner so that my URL's look like http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SmallBusinessDoer/~3/yYrCkjbWq_4/ I used HttpFox in Firefox to see what was happening and it looks like a 301. I wanted to make sure that this is indeed passing link juice. Thanks!
