AM I the only one getting misleading titles in OSE?
-
I am trying to locate directories in my competitor's links using OSE. Here is the workflow I am using:
- Filter all results to external sites only, group by site, linking to any page on the domain.
- Export results to csv.
My competitor is in the web design industry. So I try to filter the titles of the pages linking to the competitor to look for titles containing directory. But when I click on the link for "Windsor Internet Web Design Hosting Ontario Canada Directory" I get a page with the title "Kitchen & Bathroom Showroom | London Ontario | Bathroom Vanity Showroom"
Are the results really this misleading?? or am I doing something wrong here?
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,
Thanks for writing in. It is a bit difficult to determine exactly what may be the issue without knowing what site you are exporting the research for, but there are a couple of reasons the titles may be different. The data we provide can be a few weeks old, so the site may have changed the titles of their pages since they were indexed. Also, the pages could redirect to a different page than where the link was originally located when we indexed the page.
We just released a new index this morning, so you may want to try running your report again. If you are still seeing errors for the page titles, it will help us investigate if you can let me know the site you are research and several examples of titles that seem off. If you prefer not to provide that data in the public forum, you can email us at [email protected].
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you are still running into any issues with the updated data.

I am also getting misleading titles occasionally. OSE sometimes picks up the title as the anchor text.
It is a little bit different than your error

Any reason why an OSE spam Score is different for www and non-www versions of a site?
When checking the root domain links and DA in OSE pasted a non-www URL of my site and showed up with a spam score of 9. When I pasted the www. version it showed none. Does anyone think this is a cause for concern or just a bug?

Duplicate title on Crawl
Ok, this should hopefully be a simple one. Not sure if this is a Moz crawl issue of redirect issue. Moz is reporting duplicate title for www.site.co.uk , site.co.uk and www.site.co.uk/home.aspx is this a canonical change or a moz setting I need to get this number lower.

HTTPS on OSE
Just wondering if any of the Moz team can give us a heads up when open site explorer will support HTTPS?

Does it make sense to have multiple campaigns for one website?
I'm new to SEO and SEOMoz. While setting up my campaigns, I was a bit confused. Do I need to setup separate campaigns for different pages of my site? For example, I run a proofreading service: www.kibin.com I obviously want to track keyword on the main page (like proofreading service), however, I also want to track keywords (like 'essay editing') on www.kibin.com/essay-editing Should these be two separate campaigns or do I just put all the keywords into one campaign for kibin.com? Thanks!

Poor OSE results on my links
I am really disappointed with the "return on investment" I am getting from being a Pro member and using Open Site Explorer to analyze and remedy my inbound links post-penguin. My site has been crawled for over 4 months now by seomoz and OSE reprots that I have "external links" from just 25 or so domains - whereas Google webmaster tools has accurately identified well over 270 domains that link back to my site. How can do any sort of link removal strategy using open site explorer? I am paying $100/mo for SEomoz, and nothing for Google. What is the problem?

Why does the csv export from OSE only include 25 of the 90+ links?
In OpenSiteExplorer, I clicked "Download CSV" for a report on backlinks from one domain to another. The online visualization in OSE showed 93 external inbound links from site A to site B. When I opened the report, there are only 25 linking pages listed. How do I download the full list?

Tons of Crappy links in new OSE (Open Site Explorer)
I am starting to miss the old OSE. I've found that for a lot of the pages on our site, the new OSE is showing WAY more links and most of them are garbage nonsense links from China, Russia, and the rest of the internet Wild West. For instance, in the old OSE, this page used to show 9 linking domains: http://www.uncommongoods.com/gifts/by-recipient/gifts-for-him It now shows 454 links. Some of the new links (about 5 of them) are legitimate. The other 400+ are garbage. Some are porn sites, most of them don't even open a web page, they just initiate some shady download. I've seen this for other sites as well (like Urban Outfitters) This is making it much harder for me to do backlink analysis on bc I have no clue how many "Normal" links they have. Is anyone else having this problem ? Any way to filter all this crap out ? See attached screenshot of the list of links I'm getting from OSE. NHXnn
