Manual reconsideration request not going away.

Hello fellow Mozzers.
I am in need of the support from a knowledgeable community, my brain is hurting over this query and is not providing any answers! So I have got my fingers crossed that someone can spot the issue of why a website I am responsible for has been bumped out of the Google search results.
In March this website (www.message me for details.com) lost all keyword rankings and also all brand terms. Action was taken to remove unnatural links as you can see from the timeline below these links have been removed. The manual review request has come back from Google and now seems to indicate the reason for the serps removal is due to 'some or all of your pages still violate our quality guidelines', which makes me think it the website itself as well and links that were causing the issue.
So what has happened so far?
- 9 March - Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links to www.message me for details.com
- 20 May - All 'unnatural' links that could not be removed by contacting website owners were compiled and added to the disavow tool.
- 29 May - Manual resubmission request submitted.
- 6 June - The following message received (see end of post):
- 18 June - updated disavow request submitted - roughly 40-50% links removed.
- 27 June – Manual review requested.
- 2 July - The following message received (see end of post):
So after reviewing thousands of links and removing any poor-quality links, contacting webmaster and when not ale to remove manually I have added to a disavow list. Although their is a chance I have missed something in the link reviews but I am pretty confident that anything that could be considered spammy as been removed or disavowed.
I have also used the tech crawl tool and there are no issues showing up there. I am at a lose as to what is cauing this issue. I need some advice on what steps to take next..
Regards,
Colin

Hi TeamSEO,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. Without doing a full site audit and backlink audit, it would be challenging to determine exactly why you've fallen out of good graces, but a couple of things jump out at me from your description of the problem.
1. Backlinks: You received a message of unnatural links, which is a good indication of a penalty. In these cases, the Webspam team has indicated they like to see evidence that you've taken steps to remove the links, and not just submit a disavow file.
I'd do a complete link audit of your links in GWT, determine which links are no longer there and what links you can successfully have removed, and work on those. Document all your work, then update your disavow file only with the links that you can't successfully manually remove, then submit all this documentation to Google.
2. The letter from Google seems to hint that the problem may not be your backlinks, but some other quality guideline violations, like selling links or hidden text or doorway pages. Looking at your site, it seems to be pretty clean, but sometimes problems stay hidden.
Refer to Google's quality guidelines for a list of things to look for: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35769?hl=en#3
As a last resort, you can ask Google, via reconsideration request, for a list of example pages. They may or may not honor this request, but it's worth trying for.
Unfortuneatly, the Webspam team isn't known for giving out tons of information, but if you're nice enough and persistent enough they may give you a clue. Also, I highly recommend you post this question on Google Webmaster Forums, and explain what you did here. Often times a Googler will jump in on those forums and offer to help. http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters
Hope you can get to the bottom of this. Best of luck!

What is the best way to go about product comparison text?
Our website is in the midst of a massive content enrichment project - we're moving from mostly catalog content to optimized web content. Our catalog and copy teams are hoping to include more product comparisons on the web (e.g. "unlike composite basketballs, rubber one's are more X..."), which can certainly provide useful information to our shoppers! However, from an SEO standpoint, we seem to have confused search engines when doing this in the past (i.e. the example above is currently ranked for a "composite basketball" term, not a rubber one). So... What is the best way to provide useful product comparisons without confusing search engines?

We sold our site's domain and have a new one. Where do we go from here?
We recently sold our established domain -- for a compelling price -- and now have the task of transitioning to our new domain. What steps would you recommend to lesson the anticipated decline from search engines in this scenario?

Going after multiple similar keywords, which is the better approach?
Let's say I have a page targeting a keyword, "New York Restaurants". There are also several "very close" variations of this keyword which I could also target. Here are the volume estimates: New York Restaurants - 100
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | jcgoodrich
Restaurants New York - 40
Best Restaurants New York - 30
Best Restaurants in New York - 20
etc. Given this, which of the following is the better overall approach? A) Have one page and work all of these keywords so the page targets all of them. For example here try to weave in "Best" in different ways. B) Have multiple pages and use 301 redirects. Create one page only targeted at "New York Restaurants" and then create additional pages with the other terms in the URL and Headline, which 301 redirect to my "New York Restaurants" page. This is similar to how wikipedia does redirects, for example "Bourne 2" 301 redirects to "Bourne Supremacy". Thanks! | New York Restaurants | 12,100 | Medium | $0.93 | 0% | ACCOUNT |
| Restaurants New York | 2,900 | Medium | $1.00 | 0% | ACCOUNT |
| Best Restaurants in New York | 3,600 | Low | $0.69 | 0% | ACCOUNT |
| Best New York Restaurants | 2,400 | Low | $0.80 | 0% | ACCOUNT |

Should you bother with an "impact links" manual action
I have a couple sites that have these, and I have done a lot of work to get them removed, but there seems to be very little if any benefit from doing this. In fact, sites were we have done nothing after these penalties seem to be doing better than ones where we have done link removal and the reconsideration request. Google says "I_f you don’t control the links pointing to your site, no action is required on your part. From Google’s perspective, the links already won’t count in ranking. However, if possible, you may wish to remove any artificial links to your site and, if you’re able to get the artificial links removed, submit a reconsideration request__. If we determine that the links to your site are no longer in violation of our guidelines, we’ll revoke the manual action._" I would guess a lot of people with this penalty don't even know they have it, and it sounds like leaving it alone really doesn't hurt your site. If seems to me that just simply ignoring this and building better links and higher quality content should help improve your site rankings vs. worrying about trying to get all these links removed/disavowed. What are your thoughts? Is it worth trying to get this manual action removed?

No manual spam actions found - Now what to do
In last Panda update on 22nd January my site traffic reduced 30% to 40% but still some of my keywords are ranking on first and second page in SERP. With latest Penguin 2.0 update all of my keywords ranking is out of 100. Both times I send reconsideration request and get message that No Manual actions found on site. I just don't know what steps are better to get ranking back. Should I use disavow tool and remove backlinks to recover from Penguin or work more on creating quality links. My Site : http://goo.gl/sSBes Thanks, Steve

Request a 3rd party to change the URL to your site or 302 redirect it?
Hi, My new site design for small hope went live about 3 months ago and I changed the URL structure. I'm kind of new to the SEO game, but I've done quite a bit of research, successfully implemented all the 301s I need and tested them and everything is working fine. But I'm having a little trouble with this propagating through Google et al. Most of the advice is to sit tight and wait but I want to be a little more proactive. So even though the 301s are in place, can I ALSO send emails to our partners and request link changes? Would Google find this suspicious behaviour and penalise us? Thanks, Adam
