Title keyword and synonyms in content ?
-
what is the % relation in between a keyword in title and that given keyword's synonyms in a content of that page?
if i use the keyword "apple pie" on a page title once, what should be % of reappearance of this keyword in the content ? and its synonyms in relation to the entire content on that page.
thank you

In relation to what Elison said, there's no fixed "best practice" percent. That said, here's a few things I would do if trying to target a keyword. Please note this is only my personal advice, and not based on any scientific evidence:
- Use the keyword phrase near the beginning of the title tag
- Use the keyword (or a close variation) in the h1 page title
- Use the keyword (or variation) at least once near the beginning of the content, and also anywhere it makes sense.
- It's usually best practice to use keywords and variation in the alt text of an image, and also in the image filename
- After that, keep in mind that the other words on the page (and not just synonyms) play a role in determining how search engines determine the relevance of the page
So if you're talking about "Seattle's Best Seafood" you just can't say "Seattle's Best Seafood" a bunch of times and expect to rank. If I were a search engine, I would expect you to talk about Anthony's Fish House, or the Blue Star Diner, or great salmon dishes. I would expect you, if this was an authoritative page on the subject, to discuss the subject of Seattle seafood in great depth, using a variety of ideas and topics.

A ratio of 1:100 words for targeted key words is a rule of thumb that has worked well for me.

Yes I agree with Ellison here. There is no perfect % keyword density in my opinion. I generally like to get 2-3 keyword mentions per 300 words.
-
IMO there is no fixed % or ratio when it comes to the use of synonyms. The idea is to have as much relevant content as possible whilst not coming out as being to spammy. It also depends on how much content you have on the page.

Disparity between new and old keyword planner
Hi everyone! While performing keyword research using both Google's old and new Keyword Planner, I've noticed a disparity between the two tools. In many cases, the old tool gives a much larger monthly search volume than the new tool. There are a few cases where both tools provide the same monthly search volume for a term, but those are few and far between. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance!

Why do my keyword ranking differ from the results on Google ?
I've been working on a specific campaign for a couple of days, and been noticing that my keyword ranking is much different on my campaign than in reality. I tried my keyword on Google (with the same settings I have on my campaign) and my keyword ranks at #5 instead of not in 50, as indicated on my campaign. Can someone give me a hint on this issue ? Thank you !

Google keywords
I'm having trouble understanding how google determines out of my text what are the keywords and what aren't. Is there somewhere I can go that will tell me what google sees as my dominant keywords and I'd like to see my total keyword list too. We are running eCommerce and I don't think it is picking up on everything we expected it to see as keywords. I'm pretty new to this SEO stuff but I'm trying to learn. Any help would be appreciated. I understand I'm suppose to include important words in my page titles, headers and meta description and use effective markup as well so I'm just a bit lost on how I can actually see what google counts as my keywords and their level of power/importance. If this isn't possible if anyone has any suggestions on how to gauge this, I'm open to ideas! Thanks in advance guys!

Google keyword tool
Hey anyone noticed Google's keyword tool seems to be returning weird data for search volume compared to just a few days ago? "iron fist clothing" exact match was returning around 1,000 local monthly searches and a monthly trend of approximately the same over the past year. As of yesterday it has zero searches for exact match and even the monthly trends have all been set to zero for every month going back a year Now I suppose this could happen in theory but the fact that the trend is showing up as zero for each month over the last year makes me think this could be a bug. I've also noticed this for one of my keywords on my SEO site, again suddenly gone to zero searches and monthly trends going back a year. However a quick check on webmaster tools shows the impressions going back a few months at the average of 1,300 that the old trend suggested it should be. Anyone else noticed this?

Long Tail Keyword Research
Hi, I have read lots of articles on long tail keyword research and all of it seems to apply to models and makes, i.e. "Canon power shot digital _camera _2MP" However, I work in the interior design industry, which doesn't have models and makes, if you see what I mean. Does anyone have any advice on how to do long tail keyword research for this sector or similar? Thanks for your help. Mik
