A problem when our brand name is searched

We have an issue in that when someone enters our new brand name "68 degrees creative" into google.com.au, the following results show:

The second result is the Linked In page for Hiroshi. This is a person that was part of our old business but is no longer part of the new business (68 degrees creative). And therefore, his LinkedIn profile should not be appearing for this search as he has nothing to do with the new brand.
In his LinkedIn profile, he has made no mention of our organisation 68 degrees creative. He also does not feature on our website: www.68degrees.com.au. We can therefore only conclude that the reason he is appearing for the search "68 degrees creative" is that Google has somehow connected him with the new organisation due to previous online ties and relationships which Google has determined by virtue of that associated him with the new organisation. We are ultimately unsure what their algorithm is in establishing this.
Is there any way in which we can change this? We don't want his LinkedIn profile appearing when our company name is searched when he has not part of the company.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks Moosa, the brand name actually isn't mentioned on his page. As we know, Google sometimes has a funny way of crafting its own tags from its algorithms. Thanks for your feedback though regarding kicking it back by creating other profiles!

It's actually fairly straightforward. People clicked on him and then the person mentioned in the meta description. I've taken screenshots of the meta description then then linkedinpage here:
It's not HIS info that is coming up - it's the "People Also Viewed."
The quickest way to get rid of this is to go to his profile, click a bunch of unrelated people to 68 Degrees and get these people off his sidebar, then when Google reindexes the page they may see different info.
Also, build up your own SEO & presence as Moosa suggested. Twitter, FB, real link building to your own site. You only have 2 links on Ahrefs. When you have 200, he'll most likely never appear for this search as all your own pages will. You just need better SEO on your own site but in the meantime you can remove this from LinkedIn just by changing who has been clicked yourself.

I agree with Moosa; work on other pages around the website, and also your website itself. Aim to get your website at number 1, with sitelinks, and then your other related business pages- I'd also add Google Plus to the suggestions, as this one tends to be able to rank quite quickly on Google, and also any other relevant channels.

If you look in to the description, it says somewhere on the page he have used the brand name (if the description is coming from the page) which may be is one of the reason why he is appearing against the result.
If you really want to kick this result back to 2<sup>nd</sup> or different pages, my idea is to create facebook, twitter, slideshare, about.me and different pages for your company (Active pages). As soon as Google will fine more relevant results the ranking for this result will go down and you first page atleast will be clean.

Using PPC in informational searches
What is your take on using PPC to be the "first" result in an informational search when your goal is truly to deliver information, educate, and affect public opinion? I'm following a large bureaucratic non-governmental organization who has a mission to get accurate information to the public -- they have nothing to literally sell, not even donations -- they're a membership NGO, and this is part of their charity mission. They have sat at about 6th place in the organic rankings for years, while other non-profits and for-profit companies on the other side of the issue (that do have something to literally sell to the traffic they generate off this search) rank in the number 2 and 4 spot. Wikipedia ranks number 1. An About.com site generally ranks #3. On related long tail keywords the bureaucratic NGO often doesn't even rank at all in the organic searches -- it's all the opposing non-profits and for-profits dominating those long tail informational searches. Now I'm seeing the bureaucratic NGO is doing PPC to be the first result on the main search and a bunch of long tails. I am seeing some changes in their website, too, to make it less bureaucratic, more user-friendly, less technical and boring, and more visual and interesting. I'm not privy to what they're doing internally, and I'm not sure if they are doing link-building for climbing in the organic rankings. I'm a newbie to SEO - most of my understanding is based on Moz Beginner's Guide, Moz Link guide, discussions on here, and what I find from googling about SEO concepts. I gather from the google searches that I've done that you don't normally try to use PPC to buy first place in informational searches -- that with informational searches, you should be emphasizing quality link building. I'm also not sure how sustainable it would be to stay at the top position by buying the top position through PPC -- although its conceivable to me that this organization could do that indefinitely, because they're not trying to make a profit off these searches, and they're big and got the bucks. Any insights on PPC in purely informational campaigns?

How do I correct the facts in the information boxes to the right of search results for an individual.
Today it looks as if Google has assembled some information about my client keynote speaker Garrison Wynn and made an info box for him on the right of the results. The information is outdated and incorrect as I see it is for several people I looked up. I have a Google + Profile for him that is linked to his site. But Google seems to be ignoring that information and selecting information from various sources that are outdated. (Garrison has not been an ACTOR for over 13 years and the internet is full of relevant sources that give his title as a keynote speaker. How do I show Google the correct information to use. Do I need to create a BUSINESS Google + for him? The search term I used is Garrison Wynn. New Product. New Brand. Gmail/Authorship Questions. Need Advice.
I'm in the process of developing a new product and brand name and would like to create all the social media accounts (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc), including G+ and want it to have it's own Gmail ID like [email protected], so I can set up all accounts using this Gmail ID and if needed down the road, have someone else help manage the accounts so they have that login and my my main Gmail login. My question is, does Google frown upon setting up new Gmail IDs under the same name "Patrick McCoy" as I have my name tied to my personal Gmail account and my company's Gmail account "whiteboardcreations@gmail" both with G+ pages and URLs of /+PatrickMcCoy1 and /+PatrickMcCoy2 respectively. I'd like to have Authorship associated with the new product website and also want the new product to have it's own G+ Business Page to post updates, info, etc., which is why I'm getting a little confused on how I'd do it the right way, What would you do or does it really matter... can my new Gmail account of ABCXYZ@gmail just be /+PatrickMcCoy3 which is associated to my new product/brand name? Anchor Text Profile Only Branded
So, I was looking at my backlink anchor text profile and easily over 90% of my links use some variation of my brand as the anchor text. This includes my full brand name, a shorter more common name and the naked url. My question is, is this bad for my ranking? I know having too many money words as anchors is not good, but what about having too many brand anchors?

Knowledge Graph for brand term has stopped appearing
Hi everyone Our brand has an active G+ page (updated daily).

Our G+ is also linked to our site, verified, and we were lucky enough to get a vanity URL of our choice after our Google overlords confirmed it for us. When searching a specific brand term within Google UK, Knowledge Graph appeared with a link to our G+ page, logo and links to our last two G+ posts.
Much like if you search 'seomoz' This has now mysteriously vanished.
It could be a coincidence but it vanished roughly around the same time as we got our vanity G+ URL. I asked about on Google product forums but to no avail. Anyone else experienced this? Or even know how to get Knowledge Graph back to how it was? Thanks!0 -
Domain Name Masking Redirect for Brandname to Keyworded Domain
Hi mozzers I have 2 domain names, brandname.com and keywordname.com and but have a question related to web vs print marketing on deciding which domain to use or redirect. We already have established unique content first on the Keywordname.com site over the last 6 months and it has started to climb well in google rankings. But now we'd like to do some print advertising and think it would make more sense to use Brandname.com when refering to our website. So the 2 question are: Should I 301 redirect brand.com to keyword.com (preferred as all content and rankings on keyword.com) or vice versa, as I realize I can only have one site to avoid duplicate content. And is it possible to use domain name masking on brand.com if redirecting to keyword.com to avoid risking our rankings, or is masking bad for seo? Thanks!
