How to keep NAP if my company has two locations?
-
Hello,
I am a bit puzzled since the company I'm working with has recently opened a new location. The company's first location is listed in all local directories. Could you please advise me what to do to make 2 locations visible and not to mess up with keeping same NAP all over the web? Most directories do not simply have the option to add another location.
I had to open a brand new Google Business page for the second location (while using the same name brand). I suppose I am getting into trouble with this?

Hi Kirupa,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean regarding 'wrong' information. If it's something you're seeing in your Moz Local dashboard, please definitely contact our Helpsters at [email protected].

Hi Miriam,
Thanks for your reply! I'm just looking at Moz and Yext reports and seeing that one of the locations is considered to be "wrong" information. That's what confuses me a lot.

Hi Kirupa,
No, indeed, if your company has 2 physical locations that serve the public, then you are entitled to 2 unique Google My Business listings and 2 full, unique sets of citations. Just be sure that each location has its own phone number, you should have no problems at all. Think of big franchises and the 100s or 1000s of locations they have - and each one is entitled to have citations built for it. No worries at all!

Using one robots.txt for two websites
I have two websites that are hosted in the same CMS. Rather than having two separate robots.txt files (one for each domain), my web agency has created one which lists the sitemaps for both websites, like this: User-agent: * Disallow: Sitemap: https://www.siteA.org/sitemap Sitemap: https://www.siteB.com/sitemap Is this ok? I thought you needed one robots.txt per website which provides the URL for the sitemap. Will having both sitemap URLs listed in one robots.txt confuse the search engines?

Using the same domain for two websites (for different geographical locations)
Hi all, My client has a new E-commerce site coming out in few months.
Technical SEO | | skifr
His requirement is to use the same domain (lets call it www.domain.com for now) for two seperate websites:
The first site, for users with ip addresses from USA - which will include prices in US dollars.
The second site - for users outside of the US - will not include any prices, and will have different pages and design. Now, lets say that googlebot crawls the websites from different ip ranges. How can i make sure a user from France, for example, won't see crawled pages from the US? Sure, once he will click the result, I can redirect him to a "Sorry, but this content is unavailable in your country" page. The problem is, I don't want a user from France to see the in the search results the meta description snippets of pages related only to users in the US (in some cases, the snippets may include the prices in $).
Is Geotargeting through Webmaster Tools can help in this case? I know I can target a part of the website for a specific country (e.g. - www.domain.com/us/), but how can I make sure global users won't see the pages targeted only to the US in the search results? Thanks in Advance0 -

Two sides of my business
Hi, I have a website for my business which does nicely in the rankings. I have recently created a new separate website to target a specific niche area and have put this under a different URL. I'm going for a whole different look, feel, style and layout here so didn't want to just add a new page to my existing site. The content between the new and existing sites is 95% different, although my contact details (phone, email, address, etc) and some images/logos are the same. WIll Google mind this at all? Thanks!

Rel=Canonical Header Location
Hello, I've been trying to get our rel=canonical issues sorted out. A fellow named Ayaz very kindly pointed out that I'm trying to put the code into the wysisyg editor, but this might not be the best place to put the code. We are using Drupal 6. Where do I insert the code? head> <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/blog/my-awesome-blog-post"> Thanks!

It's imposible to keep track of rankings?
Hello, here something interesting I'm Using Rank Tracker from SEOMOZ And from the link-assistant's Rank Tracker as Well... I need to track Google.com and Google.co.ve (venezuela) so I did... i got my keyword an here are my results. 1 Keyword A at google.com (united states) Rank Tracker SEOMOZ = pos 6 Rank Tracker OTHER = pos 6 Manual Query on google.com = 9 (I used the exact url seomoz tells me its using) 2 Keyword A at Google.co.ve Rank Tracker SEOMOZ = pos 8 Rank Tracker OTHER = pos 7 Manual query on google.co.ve = pos 8 So.... Why it's that?, so far I think that google.com for me down here (it actually says "Español") it's a different index? for latinamerica? only spanish pages? maybe it's because there's a couple of minutes between looking with one tool and the other... any help, would be great...
